12, yes 12, extended or deleted scenes will be included on the Twilight DVD. Steve from Collider.com shares the following:
When I spoke with director Catherine Hardwicke yesterday she told me there are 12 deleted/extended scenes on the Twilight DVD. Here’s what she said about the home video release:Collider: I’m curious, I know you just got back recently and I’m sure you’re not thinking about yet, but what can we look forward to on the DVD/Blu-ray?
Catherine: Actually, I have been working on the DVD already. So we put together all the deleted scenes and extended scenes, there’s quite a few, like 12 or something like that. And then I made some montages of some other crazy elements, like more vampire kiss, biting. And more human hijinks. And I made a pretty wild music video, like a remix of Bella’s Lullaby and I did some pretty trippy things that you may like.
Speaking of deleted scenes, and I’m sure fans want to know, what’s the length of stuff that was cut out of the film? Is it any of the special effects stuff or is it dialogue scenes? Could you talk a little about what you cut?
Catherine: Well, for example the diner. You know, the first day after school, where you go see Bella and Charlie and talking about their awkward meeting and stuff, that scene was about twice when we shot it. And so it kind of slowed down the pace …and it’s still cool, but it just kind of kept going. (she makes a cutting sound) So we just put the whole thing on the DVD. There were times when Esme and Dr. Cullen make a comment on how Bella’s brought Edward to life, it was kind of in the middle of the tree top sequence, and you kind of just wanted to stay with Edward and Bella. So you’ll see that. And there’s a little bit more sexiness with the bad vampires. A little kissing and biting, nyah, nyah, nyah.
Is there going to be an extended cut or is there going to be a separate section for deleted scenes?
Catherine: A separate section for deleted scenes, because I feel like what we have in the movie is probably the right stuff. I wouldn’t really want it to grow any fatter than it is. I don’t think so.

Wow! I love when an interviewer asks questions with depth. Do you like knowing there are at least 12 deleted/extended scenes that will be on the DVD? Was this a good interview? What made it good? or bad?

As I watched the Collider footage today, I wondered if any of IT will be included on the DVD. Their cameras were just inches away from the main cameras. (Think LOTR footage/extended DVD coverage.) I hope so, because it was great! If not, then we have even more to look forward to! I can’t wait for the DVD! (LMAO–that was so fangirly to say.)
OME! i haven’t even seen the movie yet and i’m dying to get the DVD? what on earth is wrong with me? i’ll tell you what… OBSESSIVE CULLEN DISORDER.. that’s what. yeah i hope the biology scene is among the other deleted scenes.. and they should have a whole clip about how they made edward “sparkle”. lol i can’t wait!
I heard that the E/B kissing scene that we’ve seen in the trailer got cut down.. so I hope thats one of the extended scenes on the DVD

Wow. As you said “when an interviewer asks questions with depth”. They were all so great and I got a few answers to some questions I’ve had for awhile. I loved hearing them talk so passionately about the movie, especially after how they’ve been doing interview after interview and traveling non-stop. I know they’re tired - Thank you so much to Cast and Crew. I just bought my 2nd ticket to the movie for the showing right after the first one because the interviews got me so excited about the movie all over again. Rob’s accent drives me wild, could Stephenie get him to read the “Dark what ever we calling it” book for audio, I’d buy that in a milli-second.
OME this is kinda off topic, but Runs with Vampires, if Robert Pattinson read Dark High Noon for the audio book, I think I would just, like, forget to do anything else and listen to it all day, every day. That’s an incredible idea- I mean, Rob’s voice, plus Edward’s words- sigh. That would be heaven in a little box (or case, or whatever the audio book came in). sigh again.
Anyway, back on topic, great interviews w/some new questions- finally. And the news about the DVD is awesome, b/c honestly that’s something i’ve been wondering for a long time now, I just didn’t think anyone would know yet, so I am SO freaking excited to know that there’s gonna be so much extra stuff, and I cannot WAIT to see it. I said this earlier, but it was a while ago, so I’ll say it again: it’s weird b/c I’m almost as excited for all the extra stuff as I am for the actual movie- I just have a feeling it’s gonna be really awesome, plus it will show me more Rob which I always need more of. So I definitely cannot wait for the DVD. You know, its bad and good at the same time, b/c it seems like as soon as one thing in the Twilight world that you’ve been waiting for finally gets here, there’s something else to look forward to/agonize waiting on- after BD finally came out, there was the Twilight movie- after the Twilight movie, the Twilight DVD- after the Twilight DVD, New Moon the movie- and so on and so forth. It’s never going to end, is it? The thing is, I can’t really decide whether I want it to end or not. I mean, the impatience kills me, but at the same time it makes life exciting, you know? Maybe not. It’s very possible you don’t know b/c I’m not making any sense to anyone but myself, but oh well, that’s just how I feel
Personally no offense Ms. Hardwicke I loved the film but I think I’d prefer an extended DVD as well I find once I’ve seen a film with its footage reinserted I like it better than than the edited version.. Just thought I’d share

i know that almost all the fans want to see the movie with more scenes and extended one , catherine you need read fan comment and know that we rather have the long verzon than the short one.
we love twilight we want to see all the scenes together
i cant wait for new moon to come out i wanted to audition but im 12 and i live in ohio. the native american girl can only be 15 and higher well congrats to whoever and i think this movie will rock. remember vamires rule even though werewovles are cool.
Why doesn’t anyone caption/subtitle these scenes? Why only let hearing people know what they’re all about. I know it’s legal not to if the scene or show is less than 10 or 20 minutes, but why not care about the hearing impaired unless you have to? It’s mean.
the movie is amazing but the deleted scenes r very very good they shouldn’t have deleted them ever .i saw some of the deleted scenes they we great . the movie would have been much better as they added alot to the movie.
about new moon it’s gonna be fantastic i can’t wait to see it.
