LIBRARIES CELBERATING HALLOWEEN SAFELY
Libraries around the country are celebrating Halloween using Twilight themed parties. Info below:
Southwest Regional Library plans to sate fans of the “Twilight” novels by hosting a Victorian theater puppet show.
Breaking Dawn Victorian Theater: In this event, bibliophiles and “Twilight” fans alike can combine 21st-century chick lit with 19th-century Victorian theater. Recalling the bygone days of Punch-and-Judy puppets, teens can rewrite and craft their own ending to Stephenie Meyer’s “Breaking Dawn” using stick figurines, comical gesturing and funny falsetto voices.“We’re taking a 100-year theatrical tradition and giving it a modern twist,” Hill said. “Only with cardboard office supplies, paper cutouts and Popsicle sticks.”
Breaking Dawn Victorian Theater, for ages 11 though 17, is Oct. 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Southwest Regional Library, 16835 Sheridan St. Call 954-538-9996 or visit www.broward.org/library.
