MICHAEL WELCH INTERVIEW
Portrait Magazine has an interview with Michael Welch who plays Mike Newton in the Twilight movie due out November 21st. The interview is from July 2008, but still very cool.
So you’re going to play the part of Mike Newton in Twilight. What was the audition process like?
Well I originally auditioned for Edward, and as I’ve mentioned before, I’m really glad I didn’t get it! I was never quite right for it, mainly because Edward is described as unearthly beauty and that’s not quite a responsibility I want and not one I think I can pull off.Which was your favourite scene filmed and why?
There’s a scene where Mike asks Bella to the prom and I think that was my favourite scenes, because it was my best chance for one on one acting.

If you like Mike (Michael Welch) this is a cute interview allowing the opportunity to get to know him a bit more. He does mention an embarrassing moment on set where Justin (who is Justin?) is asked to nail Mike on the head with a volleyball. (can’t wait to see that scene) He seems like a good pick to play Mike. What do you think? Good choice/Bad choice? Don’t care?
