MIDNIGHT SUN LEAK UPDATE!

According to Twilight News:
UPDATE: The leak is a PDF scan of a letter size manuscript containing Chapters 1 - 12 of Midnight Sun. The manuscript is incomplete, not in order, and is missing pages. And finally the PDF ends before the meadow scene which is Chapter 13 in Twilight.
I’m sure Stephenie Meyer isn’t too happy about this and would prefer that her fans read the polished version.
Do you guys plan on reading it if you come across it?

I would ABSOLUTELY not read it. That would be like condoning cheating and stealing. Whomever got their hands on it had no right to leak it out. If you join in the reading of it you are no better than they are.
No Way! If SM doesn’t want us to read it, then I won’t. Besides, it will just be frustrating if I read bits and pieces of it and not the whole, accurate, perfected product.

My answer depends on whether Midnight Sun is as horrible as Breaking Dawn. If so, then I wouldn’t be reading either a leaked or purchased copy.
I read it, and thought it was good, and will still purchase the book and read that from front to back.

I’m shamed to admit that I’m not as strong as I would have liked to think. Yes, I’m loathe to admit that I read it, but it was well worth it. I enjoyed it, but will still buy the book, and will still read the book from cover to cover.
Oh lord, I would love to read it, but knowing SM doesnt want it read, I probably wouldnt. The guilt would tear me up. The curiosity would only stab a few holes ;D

i read it simply becasue we’ve already read twilight and it’s the same thing in edward’s POV and i thought it would be interesting to read before the movie comes out. it gives an awesome perspective of edward that makes you fall in love with him all over again.

I did come across it and I never had any intentions of reading it. First off, it’s all scrambled up so why would i want to frustrate myself trying to piece it together and not knowing certain parts…
and plus if you honestly were a true twilight/stephenie meyer fan, you certainly wouldn’t decieve her like that.
i actually found the site, and i didn’t bother to read it, i would much rather read it once it’s been published. i think it would be a betrayl to SM to read it, considering how hard she’s worked on the books, and who would want to read the unedited version anyway? it’s wrong, and as an aspiring author, i can’t even imagine having someone other than close family, friends, and editors reading my unpolished work, i might in fact be embarrased, so i won’t be part of that subjugation of SM’s artistry in her work…if that makes sense to anyone.
while its tempting, i rather not read it, SM isnt finished with it and it wouldnt want to disrespect her or her work. Im just gonna sit here nd look forward to the release of the actual Midnight Sun.

I’m definatly waiting until the entire book is published. I had a hard enough time with the quotes on s.m.’s webpage leading up to breaking dawn. They kept me up for hours trying to figure out how it would go into the story.

Guys, Stephanie is very hurt about the leak since it came from someone she trusted with the manuscript. The leaked material has since been taken off of the internet. Stephanie did put the 12 chapters that were leaked onto her website. She also said that the writing of Midnight Sun has been postponed INDFINATELY.

I read it… All it did was leave me wanting more. I hear from ther site that she may not even finish it. That would be a shame the women is amazing… I do not care if it is the finished or not she is simply amazing. I will still buy it and read it again and again and again…. just like I did the restof her books. Till the pages have fallen out of some of them… So I hope that this does not stop her from writing the rest. She deserves better then this in the trearment that she has received. But it has happened and I hope that that does not stop her at this point.
I think that your not a true fan of SM if you do read them. It already caused her so much sadness and pain. Why would anyone betray her trust that way?… I’m not reading it and niether should any one else, I think that everyone should respect SM’S wishes.
i am going to read it!! People are over reacting saying “its a disrespect to the auther” but in reality we are still going to buy the book. I read the chapters and it left me wanting more so that i am now more excited about “Midnight Sun” than i was before.
yes I would read it, well to tell u the truth I am done reading midnight sun that was on stephine meyer page. And to tell u the truth it’s, well its really good, it made me laugh because edward is so funny. It just sad because I don’t really thinks that its fair for jacob has his own part in the book but edward doesn’t, that doesn’t seem fair. And I will buy the book as well (midnight sun). It just not fair for the rest of stephine fans to be punish and denies edward part (midnight sun), just because one or more people acted alone for it to leak out. There is absolutely no way I would read it. Not only is it disrespectful to Stephenie, but who could read just a portion of the book? It would drive me crazy to have a tidbit and nothing more. So I will wait until it’s shiny and new on the shelves of my favorite bookstore, and only then will I read it.
I already read the chapters from Midnight Sun. I couln’t help it! The chapters were posted on Stephenie Meyer’s website. I really want to buy the book. I can’t stand not knowing what’s going to happen next.(In Edward’s point of view) I feel upset that someone leaked it though. I am really sorry for Stephenie, no one should have to feel what she must be feeling.
oh goodness, taking a copy that S.M. gave you and leaking it on the internet is a horrible thing to do, and reading it is bad, but really, which one is worse, leaking it or reading it? COme on Esme, if you read it, yes it is bad, but it is no where close to actually taking it and leaking it all over the internet. I have not read it and i do think htat it is the wrong thing to do.

I wouldn’t want to read it because it would spoil it for me!! If I read a book I read it at one time!It took me 2 days to read Twilight, 1 day to read New Moon, 1 day to read Eclipse, and 2 days to read Breaking Dawn. I stayed up ALL night until I was finished. I didn’t do any work or talk to anyone. I couldn’t stop reading but I didn’t care cause I was in my own little world.
No way!! I would love to read her finished version, the one meant for us to read! Who ever did this deplorable thing should be severely punished. I do hope that Stephenie finishes it so that her true fans can enjoy her writing genius! Pray Pray Pray she publishes it. This is the same stuff J.K Rowling had to endure with the writing of the HP series, lets just hope that this does not deter Stephenie from doing what she loves.
Well, I’d like to print it and read it at home, because I don’t have time to read 256 pages at work and it will kill my head trying to read it. BUT I WANT TO read it… and I WILL still buy Midnight Sun and read that cover to cover a million times. My theory is, if SM wants to be crappy and not finish the book, then I might as well read it and get it over with, because now she may never finish it.
I don’t think she should punish us by not finishing it though, and I also think that if she’s smart, wants to keep her fanbase, and keep making that dollar, she should revise it however needed, finish the damn book and get it published. What she doesn’t realize is that the leak probably makes you want it even more, and creates more of a hype so now we’re all dying for it to come out. She better now screw this up and just not release the book ever. I already have knots in my stomach thinking about waiting a year for the book/finished product or whatever.
I figure it’s fair game since she posted on her own site. Having said that, I don’t understand why you would post your own work if you didn’t want anyone to see before it was completely finished. I can appreciate her point of view - it never should have been leaked in the first place. But if you wanted all the hype to die down, posting an unfinished, unpolished manuscript would be the worst idea you could have. I did read it. I enjoyed what she has so far. I found it much more interesting than “Twilight”, perhaps because he has more to deal with than what the “typical teenage girl” would in her day to day life. It’s my understanding that she wishes to continue it, but only AFTER all the hype concerning the book itself and the leak have died down and been forgotten. Guess it’ll be a while now. But she did post the leaked version (the first chapter or so) on her site. On the same post, she posts more than 200 pages of the manuscript (again, all within the same post) and also speaks a little about how she feels about the leak and an update or two. It’s on:

She created this wonderful world of vamps and werewolves for millions of people to read, the least we could do is be patient (Even though we might explode with excitement). OOPS! too late:)

Well.. I would wait, but she said she wants to go TWO YEARS without hearing anyone talk about it. do you know how long that is?! She needs to build a freaking bridge and get over it. I personally respect her however she published the final draft of the first 12 chapters. It’s on her site stephaniemeyer.com.
It is in order and mostly flawless. It has a lot of info on the whole leakage thing on the internet and i would encourage you to read the draft on her site instead of the illegal one as it would be no crime to read it.
Although i respect SM i think that she is fine with releasing the first chapters now as it was her choice to release the newer version and that everybody should just shut up about it.

i am not ashamed to say that i read it. so far it is the best one. it’s real and brutally honest, just like all the others. i hope sm finnishes it because i would read it over and over again just like all the others.
At first I didn’t want to read it, but then I read the first chapter, the second, the third and then I just could’nt help it. I am so sorry Stephenie but seriously it’s actually one of the best books of the whole serie, And if the book comes out I’ll read it all including the first 12 chapters.
When I first heard about the leak, I was a bit upset. Its such an invasion of privacy and sort of a kill joy; I wasn’t planning to read it. But she (Stephenie Meyer) actually posted 12 of the chapters on her official website so I felt that was her given permission. I started reading it at 7, and it’s 11 now and i can’t look away! It’s awesome! The best of the series I can honestly say. If and when she releases it (hopefully the latter) I will most definitely be one of the first in line to get it, hard and paperback!

i have to say to all those who are upset that people are reading the leaked version, it is horrible that someone leaked it in the first place, but i think that after Stephanie Meyer POSTED IT ON HER OWN WEBSITE, that it is not wrong to read it, which i have done, and it was great.
I think that whoever stole the copy of Stephanie Meyer’s Midnight Sun was very stupid to do so. I would never read anything that Stephanie wouldn’t want the public to know about. However, she posted it on her website and allows the public to see it now. Also, as a Twilighter I know that I would have wanted this book to be a surprise. Now she doesn’t even know if she’s going to follow through with it.
a friend printed it out and gave me it… i thought it was the whole book and when i finished i went back for the rest and she told me the wole leak story,,, i recomed u wait cause now im crazy to read the rest!!! but i love it and will still buy Midnight Sun as i did with the other books.. but i wish i knew about iit cause now i feel bad. im an aspiring author and i wwould be mad if this happend to me too!!! bu i love SM and all the cast and the books lol im obsses and deffinetly got good use of the books. iv read them all like 15 times!!! I never heard of this scandal until today when I was looking up the author to get some background. I am on Eclipse now and am all ready to buy the fourth book so I can dive right in. There are many people who are not aware of the Midnight Sun leak - but even if they read it I can’t believe they would not want the legit finished version. Believe it or not … this may be a big boost for the sales on this next book. I hope she finishes it and moves on! Hang in there Stephanie - people can be idiots but you have many supporters - Don’t let them down over this!
I read it and it was awesome, my thoughts are that these things do happen sometimes if you are in the creative arts industry. I do feel sorry for Stephenie Meyer though. She should have the right to say when her work should be published. Unfortunatley there are people out their who try to make money off someone elses work. I would still buy the finished product though.But for all of you who are feeling guilty or whatever about reading it maybe you should take in to account the fact that it’s on the official website. she can’t be too torn up about us all reading it.
Honestly I think it was a terrible thing for Midnight Sun to be leaked without her permission, but seeing as how she posted the first 12 chapters on her website, i dont see why she wouldnt finish it. I read the version on her site and loved it! I would definately buy the book if she publishes it. ALSO, DOES ANYONE BESIDES MYSELF THINK SHE SHOULD REWRITE ALL 4 BOOKS FROM EDWARDS POV??? I agree to some people above that this leak only made her fans want even more. I mean, in Midnight Sun she left us (well, those who have read it) with a lot of curious minds and questions. at first i would have said NO WAY but after months of patience for Stephenie Meyer i have lost respect for her. If she were dedicated to her characters and stories than she would follow them through. Today I gave up on her as a person and read chapters 1-12 of midnight sun and i hope that she reads this and understands how dedicated her fans are. By stopping such a successful and honest story, she has punished thousands of fans for the acts of a few hundred.
Steph has the partial draft posted on her website now. And she’s just deleted her myspace page. I think it’s evil that somebody took her manuscript and read it and spread it. I wonder how it got out in the first place…..

i was reading what she had to say in her website, & I FEEL like stephanie HAS the RIGHT to be able to become angry & feel disrespected. BUT, she shouldnt have to punish the fans for one’s mistake. she may take the time she needs, but it seems like she might not ever finish midnight sun. i dont want her to live with an un-finished book. & i dont think anyone else wants her to have to deal with that. but if no one else feels that way, then i’ll rephrase my sentence…i dont want US to live with curiosity day & night of how the rest of the books ends. i am trying to find out her email, though she might not be checking her emails, so that i can email her encouraging her that she shouldnt let one shake up her image of the ending of midnight sun. she stated in her website, “So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn’t like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn’t dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.” in her last sentence is said in her state she would have the ending go like that. we should all encourage her to finish & not let anyone shake her or take her out of her writing and thinking zone. & IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE MANY WHO READ THE PARTIAL OF MIDNIGHT SUN, i dont want to have to tell you it’s all because of you, though you should know that, you can help out now by encouraging her. BUT let us remember to not press pressure. WE ALL NOW KNOW THAT RESPECT IS VERRRRYYYYYY IMPORTANT. & dont forget that otherwise things will go badly.
It’s because of the leak that the book is not even going to be released. I’m quite upset because I find Bella quite annoying and was looking foreword to this new point of view. I kind of think it’s done and she is just waiting to release it. Who knows. In any case, I really hope she changes her mind. She is going to make Billions off of this book with the twilight fans that keep on growing due to the movies and such.

hey i’m ne to twilight i managed to read it last week in three days and today i finished new moon in 2 days and have also started Eclipse earlier this afternoon, but what is Midnight Sun? i theought the last one is breaking dawn?
but i have to say i’m so glad that these book have been written i hadn’t read a book in 3 years and now i’ve managed to read 2 withing 2 weeks and thy are amazingly written.
also i hear New Moon has leaked on to the internet i would love to see it, just because i can’t wait for it to come out in cinema haha.

I love twilight omg i’v like read all the books besides midnight sun! I can’t seem to get enough, it’s like the best friggin book series i’v ever read! I sooo can’t wait till midnight sun comes out, it’s going to be a top seller all over the world I know for sure. Well, keep writing ur fab books stephenie! luv ya!! can’t wait to sink my teeth into more!

I love these books and can’t wait for next but, I will ABSOLUTILY NOT read the leaked copies or the ones she posted, until it is completed and published like all the rest. Its a shame that things like this happen, especially to someone who is as talented as Stephanie. I just hope she does finish it, when she’s ready.
My friend PRINTED out midnight sun!! Im DEFINATLY not reading it until its done and hopefully she will finishes it.
I am soo tempted to read it…But i wont because i would be as bad as whoever “leaked” it.But i did read the first chapter on S.M.’s website tho..

I want to read it soo much! So I’m just going to read the first paragraph. That’s it.
i read the first chapter - its more like a free sample you get of something that convinces you to pay for the product, thats how midnight sun has made me feel about the twilight saga. if i hadn’t have read this then i would have no intention to buy the original copy when it is released
I understand how most of you could feel as if you’re going against Stephenie Meyer’s wishes by reading the partial draft, but it’s okay. Since it’s already been released to countless locations, Steph gave permission for fans to go ahead and read it, but to expect a more edited draft in the near future. She posted a link on her website containing the first 12 chapters, but since it’s a PDF file, you need Adobe Reader to open it up. See ya!
Those of you who say you will not read it because SM doesn’t want you to, how many songs have your downloaded off file sharing app? If you are going to respect one creator, you must accept all.
I have already read it but this because i downloaded it from the official site of SM herself , she said as long as this partial draft had already been leaked, then, she didn’t want her fans to make sacrifices struggling with their curiosity!!
Please continue with your verison on Midnight Sun.I have not read the other verison and have no plans to do so.I will wait for your book.Continue with the Twilight series because there are so many unanswered question.
Sorry stephanie!!!! I know it is so horrible but I read the first few chapters… my curiousity totally got the best of me! I feel so ashamed, but it is really REALLY good.
I admit it…i read it…I didn;t really want to, but I did at the same time…because it WAS kind of stealing… but think about it! that would be like only reading the whole series ONE TIME….how do you live? I really really want her to publish it…and i think she should because all the fans want it! and whoever leaked it…they really shouldnt have because they had absolutley no right to do that. If SM didn’t want it published, then why would you leak it? My curiosity really got the best of me…IM REALLY SORRY FOR READING IT! but i HAD to! and didnt she put it on her website anyway? meaning that she didnt care if you read it or not? so then wouldnt it be kind of ok to read it? and i will ABSOLUTLEY BUY IT if she publishes it…back to back. cuz the beginning was very good and i want her to finish it!!!
Yeah I read it, i don’t like it, but it isn’t much different than listening to music for free on youtube..
