MTV MOVIES BLOG - ‘Twilight’ Star Kristen Stewart: ‘It’s Not A Typical Make-Out Scene’
The insanity may be weeks old here in the United States, but overseas “Twilight” movie mania is a little more recent. Over in London, our MTV Europe colleagues caught up with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to discuss the film, and we’ve got their resulting conversation below.You Twilighters will probably enjoy the pair’s description of their infamous non-kissing make-out scene, complete with Pattinson’s trademark blush.
I don’t care if the kissing scene was accidental and not scripted that way - it was perfect. They did a bang-up job with Edward and Bella’s first kiss. Would you agree with that?
I am very excited to see the box office numbers when the movie comes out in the UK. Care to take a guess at what the box office numbers might be?

I think that the mistake made it better, cause it caught that feeling of “Oh god, whats going to happen????” I mean, in most Hollywood kisses, they happen really fast, like spur-of-the-moment type thing. And you don’t get that moment of anticipation very often. In my book that kiss beat out the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 kiss between Orlando and Keira in the middle of the battle. And that is quite a commendment.
But my heart burst the first time i saw it. I didn’t breath for 2 minutes, my friend thought i died. I’m not even kidding.
If the kiss between B&E after Italy, you know, thier first kiss in 7 months of separation? if that kiss is anything like the one in Twilight, i dont care if Chris Weitz screws up the rest, or they replace Taylor (No scratch that, I DO care if they replace taylor, but back to my point) then ill see the movie just for that kiss.
If a mistake made that kiss……then bring on it on!
His character tells her not to move - why would he wait for HER to get closer? Silly…
I had to youtube the video because I am in Canada and you cannot view MTV USA here… but the scene worked, and it only happened once.. which is phenomenal. They did a good job, but I would have messed it up a lot so I could kiss ROB more then once!
I agree, if THAT was a “mistake” then they OUGHTA MAKE MORE MISTAKES!!!!
Cute interviews and this scene was Perfection! That anticipation was part of what made this scene great.

The mistake made it perfect! I loved the way she hesitates, gauging his reaction, the way he tells her twice, Dont move! It was so sexy, the submission on Bellas part, the pent up need in Edward, the way he flings her back on the bed. It was, mistake and all, the hottest kiss ever! Mtv BETTER give them the hottest kiss in the Mtv movie awards next year!
I agree that kiss was ELECTRIC. I mean, people around me gasped on opening day when we were watching it. It was better unscripted, because they were both hesitant, which is what Edward and Bella are on the first kiss. It shouldn’t be perfect at all! I agree with Kerri above, very hot kiss! And then there’s that chemistry that they have….
You can feel it, I tell you.

Oh my…like some have said, if this was in fact an accident…bring ‘em on!! I swear I stopped breathing during that whole scene…I actually sorta felt like Bella feels throughout the books when she forgets to breathe and feels light headed! LOL!! The anticipation…the “they know it’s wrong but it seems so right” energy that literally oozes from the screen…I thought that that scene was absolutely brilliant as their first kiss.
I think the the only bad thing was that the kiss was supposed to be the first time that he took her running.
But its not the same and I know that.
So in that case it was PERFECT
plus i think rob liked it

I think the kiss scene was perfect!! I think the accidental way it happened made it suit them even better!
Of course, Kristen Stewart had to mess up this scene. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great kiss but not exactly what was happening in the book. Rob was right to wait for Kristen to move closer cause she was supposed to attack him even though he told her to be still and he just wanted to try something (forest scene). I guess I’m a traditionalist, but it would’ve been nice to see kstew emote something and actually follow bella’s actions instead of her own.
