NY MAGAZINE – PERRY FARRELL ON THE TWILIGHT SOUNDTRACK

NYMAG.COM has exclusive news about Perry Farrell and the Twilight soundtrack. First we get Paramore news and now Perry Farrell (who used to be a part of Jane’s Addiction). Read what NY Mag has to say below:

He’s writing a crucial song for Twilight, the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s mega-selling young-adult vampire saga, due on November 21. The track is tentatively titled “Going All The Way (Into the Twilight)” and will be a Farrell solo venture produced by Atticus Ross and mixed by Alan Moulder.

Personally, I am not fond of Perry Farrell’s voice. I hope it turns out to be a good song in spite of my reservations. Do you like Perry Farrell? What do you think of him writing for the Twilight soundtrack?

    Perry Farrell’s music is very emotional, not necessarily romantic, but hard-core and I think it would be perfect for Twilight!

    I googled him..and it gave me wikipedia.
    On there it had a pictre of him…yeah…OLD! lol.
    anyways.they had little links and one of them read “Porno for Pyros.”
    I stopped reading after that….

    Idk…i have yet to hear what he sounds like…

    soo..for now…ill keep an open mind.

    Perry Farrell, although he did at one point belong to a band called “Porno for Pyros,” is most well known for his band Jane’s Addiction- it is the most popular band that he has belonged to (he has belonged to several different bands b/c his bands keep splitting up b/c of drugs and stuff, and Jane’s Addiction itself went through quite a few different lineups), and one of the most popular songs by Jane’s Addiction (at least it’s the song I know best, anyway) is “Jane Says”- I actually happen to LOOOOOVVVVE that song, so I think this is pretty awesome, although that’s probably pretty biased b/c I don’t really know any of Jane’s Addiction’s other material very well- or Porno for Pyros material, or any other songs by Perry Farrell or a band containing Perry Farrell, for that matter. So it’s probably not right to base my opinion almost solely on the one song, but that’s all I have, and since I love that one song… I’m pretty happy.
