TWILIGHT’S WEEKEND BOX OFFICE LOWERS TO $69.6 MILLION

Reuters is reporting that the original box office numbers were slightly higher than they actually ended up:
Vampire romance “Twilight” saw its box office tally lowered slightly to $69.6 million from an estimated $70.5 million for its debut in theaters this past weekend, according to final studio figures released on Monday.The film, which is based on author Stephenie Meyer’s books about a teenage girl and her romance with a vampire boy, was the No. 1 movie at U.S. and Canadian box offices, beating James Bond flick “Quantum of Solace” which was No. 2 with final ticket sales of 26.7 million.

The final tally didn’t lower that much. It still made a lot of money for opening weekend. And they usually over estimate anyway, so this doesn’t surprise me. What do you think?

I predicted (before the movie was released) that Twilight’s first weekend gross would be between $60 mil. and $90 mil.

I’m not surprised by the numbers. I went to see it today and totally amazed by the special effects, it’s such a beautiful movie. Rob & Kristen were fantastic in it. I was really taken by the fight scene where Bella was biten. Her acting was really superb and where Edward saves her by sucking out of venom. I enjoyed it so much, I’ll be going back again.
Hey, They are making New Moon so that is all that counts! The movie has not even opened in other countries yet! I saw it twice and I am going again this weekend.

I don’t care. We still made all the people who doubted Twilight and the power of the fanbase eat thier words, and forced them to go home with thier tail between thier legs! I have 3 words for them “In your FACE!” HAHAHA!
I just saw it again today…& those numbers are still impressive. The 2 times I’ve gone my little 1 she napped like a good girl, & this last time i dragged my hubby. Unbeknowest (i hope i spelled that right) to my hubby, I plan on seeing it a 3rd time while he’s at work.
Ahhhh that’s soooooo flipping amazing. Twilight is soooooo flipping legit. I’ve seen it 3 times and I’m going many many more times hehehhehe

I am going to a neighbouring country just to watch twilight as their release date is much much earlier.
And when its released in my country, I am planning to catch it at least 3 times. Aiming for 5, if my parents allow me to spend that much on a movie. 
Twilight is new all time favorite movie.
I’ve seen it 8 times and will be going for the 9th time tonite as soon as I get out of work.
