Robert Pattinson Vs. The Jonas Brothers: Who Has the Crazier Fans?
Rolling Stone coined Twilight heart throb Robert Pattinson “The Jonas Vampire” on the 2008 Hot List, and after attending events for each at one of New York’s Apple stores earlier this year we only felt it appropriate to take a look at how the two biggest teen fandoms of the year stack up. Plus, be sure to check out the expanded interview with Twilight’s dreamiest vampire — who says “There’s only so much adoration you can take” — below.In August we hit up a Jonas Brothers mini-concert the same day their sophomore album hit stores and less than 24 hours after the trio wrapped up three sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden. In November we sat in on a Q&A with Pattinson and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke less than two weeks before the flick hit theaters. Here’s how we fared:

Jonas: Though the event was supposed to be announced the morning of, fans camped out the night before to secure a spot inside. It seemed for every fan crowded around the stage inside at showtime there was another left waiting outside on the narrow NYC street, and hysteria errupted afterwards when the brothers pulled away.
Pattinson: No one camped out, but fans lined up in the wee hours of the cold November morning to snag a wristband — and waited patiently in the brisk temperature afterwards for Pattinson to leave.LIFE-FEARING MOMENT
Jonas: The crowd began bouncing and dancing en masse as soon as the brother struck their first note — and when the enthusiasm hit fever pitch, the floor started shaking.
Pattinson: A particularly intrepid tween fan used her chance to ask a question as a plea for Pattinson to bite her neck.SUPERFAN MOMENT
Jonas: As loud as the band was, they could barely top the volume of the jampacked crowd singing every word, “ooh” and “ah” at the top of their lungs.
Pattinson: It didn’t matter that most fans couldn’t hear him (thanks to a combination of his low speaking voice and the hordes of “I love you!” and “Take off your hat!” requests); they answered questions for him anyway.AW-SHUCKS MOMENT
Jonas: Nick Jonas’ “I survived diabetes” spiel during “A Little Bit Longer”
Pattinson: The many ways he jokingly compared himself to Edward, which earned squeals of delight from the crowd (despite repeated pleas by the event moderator and director Catherine Hardwicke to “be cool”, the audience errupted in cheers every chance they could).PARENTAL REACTION
Jonas: Parents (including Harry Connick, Jr.) had earplugs in place and cameras in hand to capture the moment for their daughters.
Pattinson: Twimoms (so nicknamed for being independently obsessed with the series, regardless of whether or not they have children) were in full effect, with T-shirts professing their love,FUTURE PREDICTION
With the Jonas Brothers set to release another album next year and the next Twilight movie headed into production, the squeals and shrieks have a healthy lifespan ahead ofthem.

I wonder if they forgot to include the Hot Topic appearances - I think those clearly show Twilight fans are crazier.

Twilight fans are absolutely mental. My friend is a JoBro and Twilght fan, and shes crazy just by herself, add obsession to insanity and shes just completely mental. I don’t really like the JoBro’s and if she starts to annoy me going on about how hot Nick is all I have to do is say “Robert Pattinson” and her attention is totally diverted. lmao. its quite funny actually. I agre with Anna Cullen. We are a crazy bunch, my friends have made out with pictures of Rob, XP, and its quite frightening. I’m not as crazy, and for hell he is gorgeous, but he deserves whoever hes dating or Bella, period. If they made someone with him already, then the fangirls shouldn’t be begging Rob to bite their necks. It can be fun, ut seriously, we can all dream, but none of us will hve a chance with him. Besides, he has proposed to Kristen a number of times, but he claims to not have remembered, lolz, =D
psh. twilight of course. although, i never jumped on the jonas brothers bandwagon. too disney-fied for me. but honestly, from everything i’ve seen (and counting my personal obsession =]) i’d have to say that twilighters are insane and we could probably take any fandom (not just jonas brothers)
Twilight fans are def crazier. We have more of a range of age and more people like Twilight compared to the JoBros. A lot of people dont like disney so that contributes to the fact but Yeah. TEAM TWILIGHT !!

Honestly I think the Twilight fanbase is crazier ! I understand the thing with the Jonas brothers their a boy band which has been here for years and they are everywhere but TWILIGHT FANS WILL TRAVEL FAR TO LOOK AT THE TWILIGHT STARS OR ROB TO LOOK THAT’S CRAZY because the Jonas bros will sing and everything but to wait in line for two days just to see somebody ? hmmmm TWILIGHT WINS !!!
And I have been to a Jonas Brothers concert and it is loud and crazy but it’s a music concert your suppose to be BUT TO MEET A NO NAME ACTOR AT THE TIME BEFORE THE MOVIE ROB AND TWILIGHT FANS ARE THE WINNERS !!!!
The Twilight fanbase loves every aspect of Twilight not just the guys so that makes them crazy in that they obsess over everything Twilight.

i never like twilight but all my friends do but not me and my bff tristan we loves the jobros they hve ben out longer than that movie and books and the jonas brothers have their own short searies jonas brother living the dream,the hit movie camp rock and their own show j.o.n.a.s and the 3D movie and their r more crazy fans 4 the jb so their and joe jonas is so hot
