THREE REASONS WHY ROBERT PATTINSON SHOULD HOST SNL

The PopWatch blog over at EntertainmentWeekly.com has compiled a list of three main reasons as to why Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) should host Saturday Night Live.

Here at PopWatch, we’re staunch supporters of thoughful debate, citizen activism, rocking the vote, and all such democratic ideals. So when we heard that Twilight fans have organized a petition to nominate their patron vampire saint Edward Cullen (also known as actor Robert Pattinson) for a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, we felt it was our duty to bring this matter to the people. And since the best voter is a well-informed voter, we’ve put together the top three reasons why Pattinson should appear on the sketch show stage:

1. It would be good for the economy: In these lean times, everyone’s looking to save a buck or two — even big networks like NBC — and in Rob you get not only a host, but a musical guest to boot. And after my exclusive preview of the Twilight soundtrack, which includes Pattinson’s song “Never Think,” I can whole-heartedly endorse the vamp’s vocal prowess.
2. The inevitable Twilight parody: Pregnant Amy Poehler (as Bella Swan) + Rob = Breaking Dawn fabulousity. I wonder if Amy can vomit blood on cue?
3. He’s just plain fun to look at

I like the reasoning PopWatch came up with. I didn’t think about the fact that Rob could host and be the musical guest at the same time. And we all laugh at Twilight comics and parodies online, so one on SNL would be even funnier. Although I think a BD parody may be a little over the top. And let’s be real here, Rob IS fun to look at…
