Last month, we asked: Who among the current batch of young actors will be the future leading men? It therefore seems quite appropriate to ask - Who among the current batch of young actresses will become the future leading ladies of cinema?Kristen Stewart (18): Watch out for Stewart as she establishes herself in 2008 as one of moviedom’s most sought-after leading ladies! Up to now, what we have seen of Stewart are mainly notable supporting roles, and while she maintains her consistency in choosing her projects, these movies only hint at her potential - Panic Room, Catch That Kid, Speak, Zathura, The Messengers, In the Land of Women and the critically-acclaimed Into the Wild.
But all that is about to change as she leads a pack of promising young talents in this year’s most anticipated movie - Twilight. Says Kristen about her love of acting:I love it because I love to tell stories. I like being in movies that have a great story. I’m not so interested in being a Hollywood star. It’s a job, you know. When you wake up at six in the morning every day for a week, it feels like hard work.
There are others of course who are equally talented: Emma Watson would be a charming and beautiful leading lady! Abbie Cornish was great in Hard Candy and Stop-Loss. She will next be seen in Jane Campion’s Brightstar. Transformers’ damsel in distress Megan Fox is also one of the up and coming leading ladies today. Others worth mentioning are Kat Dennings, Nikki Reed, and the young but talented Abigail Breslin.

I am glad to see Nikki Reed included. I think she gets over looked way too much. She’s gorgeous and the more clips I see, the more I believe she does a more than adequate job being Rosalie. I’m still iffy on Kristen Stewart being a future leading lady. I’d like to see more of her work as she grows into a woman and a more mature actress. What do you think? i think either nikki or kristen…they are both good in the acting….since i am an extreme fan of twilight then those are my top favs..so yea either is good…
God…even as a twilight fan I have to say dakota fanning….

and annasophia robb? she’s amazing! if I ever have a daughter I’ll name her Annasophia!! she’s lovely!
I would say Kristen Stewart, people know her clearly more because of Twilight and other projects. Nikki Reed had her time to shine with Thirteen. It just makes more sense if Kristen Stewart is the future leading lady but if Nikki Reed has potential.

Kristen. she’s shown her versatility by taking on so many different roles. in her next indie she plays an underage stripper.
between Kristen and Nikki - I’d say Kristen. I saw her in “Speak” and fell in love with her. She’s brilliant actress beyond her years. Nikki needs to do a few more movies. I didn’t know who she was before this.

I think Kristen and nicki both have great potentail, but i think Kristen the most, because she’s a great actress who has had roles that will help her, and lead her to much huger roles in the future. she’s my favourite actress.
Kristen and Nikki are both awesome actresses and they have a lot of potential. They both were amazing in Twilight everything Kristen did or said was how I imagined Bella doing it. I could feel the hatred eminating from Rosealie in the movie so obviously Nikki did a great job.
No offence-but are you serious.You started article with words Nikki and Kristen,in that order.I don’t want to be rude but seriously to put Nikki’s name before Kristen’s name.I am not mentioning this because I am some Nikki’s hater or something,but because it seems to me,that no one would even remember Nikki’s name if she wasn’t so strongly publicized because of her so call friendship with Kristen and her constant presence around Robert.Seriously just think for second,in the book main characters are Bella,Edvard,Jacob and Alice and then the others.I am pointing out Alice because,she is closest to Edvard of all the Cullen’s,through entire Twilight saga,she was supporting Bella and Edward more than anyone else,and it would be logical that her character is equally important in the Twilight movie.But for some reason they decided to give Rosalie more influence and more lines that Alice in the movie.So it happened that Nikki who plays Rosalie,gets more praise that Ashley Green who played Alice perfectly.And since Nikki all of the sudden self promoted herself into Kristen’s best friend and started following her and Rob like shadow-press is mentioning her more and praising her more that Ashley for example,who is obviously modest comparing to Nikki whose tactic is to play friend to two of the currently best known young actors-Kristin and Robert.And if you are paying attention lately in many articles you have reporters saying Twilight bla bla,Kristen,Robert and Nikki and then others.Last time I checked Jacob, played by Taylor is more important in saga then Rosalie-played by Nikki.So it really seems to me that Nikki is more praised not because she’s some extraordinary talent but because she cleverly boned with two main actors in the movie.I am not that impressed with Nikki’s acting-she played Rosalie nice-but it’s hardly an Oscar acting.Playing shallow self obsessed selfish blond is hardly a challenging role.I am still waiting For Nikki to impress me with some role that is completely different that her usual self-because that is what makes actresses like young Dakota Fanning,or incredible Kate Winslet or Kate Blanchett so amazing.So far she only played too laud too pushy girls,which honestly resembles her personality too much-nothing extraordinary about that.But I wouldn’t be surprised if Nikki gets more attention from media than she deserves,it wouldn’t be first time in Hollywood that actor or actresses with not so much talent but overly publicised gets more praise than he or she deserves,cause it’s all about who sells more newspaper.But hey if I am wrong and If Nikki films some movie and kicks my ass with good performance I will be the first to admit that I was wrong.Of course That would have to be a movie she picked herself and not the movie she’s filming just because Kristen’s in it-because we all already know that Kristen picks her movies carefully paying attention to scrip and story and not on how much many it can make.So I am waiting For Nikki to film movie ,that has no Kristen or Robert in it,and when she blows my mind with good performance I will first admit That I was wrong.Until than Kristen and Dakota and other young actresses will come before Nikki.No offence.And it would be nice to see Ashley Green in some demanding role because I think she can offer lot more that some may think.I am sorry but I am not buying this so call friendship,when it comes to Nikki,I think she is really calculated girl who made smart decision to cling to two persons who can make her more famous and recognized than her acting ever could.
