TWILIGHT SAGA BOOK CLUB: INTERROGATIONS, TWILIGHT CHAPTER 10

TA Staff member Emily makes her debut with Chapter 10 of Twilight:

Chapter Ten is appropriately titled “Interrogations” as it marks the beginning of Edward and Bella’s journey to get to know each other. Previously in Chapter Nine, “Theory”, it was revealed that Bella’s conclusion was correct as to what Edward and the rest of the Cullens were and that it did not matter to her, angering and baffling Edward simultaneously.

To Bella’s amazement, Edward arrives at her house the next morning offering to drive her to school. She accepts without hesitation and they continue with her questioning from the previous night. At school, Jessica returns the jacket that Bella left in her car and is witness to see Edward with Bella again; she can’t wait to find out what exactly is going on.

As Edward predicted, Jessica confronts Bella about her relationship with Edward bombarding her with questions. Embarrassed and chagrined, Bella confides in Jessica about how much she likes Edward and how she feels that she can’t help liking him more than he does her, all the while knowing that he was listening in. After Spanish, Bella finds Edward waiting for her outside to walk to the cafeteria together.

During the lunch hour, Edward discusses his reaction to Bella’s responses explaining how he feels she is mistaken; that in actuality, he cares more for her than she does for him. After some intense dialogue, Edward lightens the mood redirecting the conversation to their plans for Saturday, requesting a change in location. Again, this new topic begins to get heated but this time Bella changes the subject matter leading Edward to reveal more about his “lifestyle”.
