ACCESS HOLLYWOOD: INTERVIEW WITH CATHERINE HARDWICKE

Access Hollywood caught up with Catherine Hardwicke at the Women in Film 2009 Crystal and Lucy Awards. Catherine gushed about hard Taylor worked to keep his role, the success of Twilight and how proud she is of the whole cast.

You can just tell how proud Catherine is of the Twilight cast. She just lights up when she talks about them, and her voice sounds so proud. I’m certainly glad that Catherine picked the cast she did, I can’t imagine any of the main cast being played by someone else. Catherine should also be really proud of her personal success with Twilight, having that big of a box office opening was a big deal for her as a director.

Yes, Catherine should be very proud of the cast she picked. I really can’t imagine who could be better than the actors that are in those roles. When you are able to put a face to the character you are reading the story becomes so much compelling, for me anyway. I started reading Twilight before I knew Rob was cast for it. I had an image of Edward, body type, hair & eye color, but no actual face. Rob slipped right into Edwards character very easily and perfectly. Kristen & the other actors did the same. I had a basic picture in my head.
Taylor for me grew into Jacob. I did imagine some one taller to begin with though, but he has worked hard for that role.

I just love that woman. Of course she’s proud of Taylor and I loved hearing her mention the entire cast and the work they’re all doing. Twilight/Catherine was a springboard for their careers. It’s kind of like happy crap all around. =)

Again, I’m SO jazzed for Taylor and can’t wait to see him flesh out Jacob. I think Taylor is already an amazing/believable actor. He has a great career ahead of him.

We all owe CH a big Thank You for getting this cast together. She should be proud of them and of herself for giving us a beautiful film.
And, she should be especially proud of Taylor. He’s the only one who had to work extra hard and put on muscle to keep his job. And he did it! I think Taylor will be the one who surprises everybody with how good of an actor he can be!

Yes, we owe Catherine big time, not only was she the start of bringing The Twilight Saga to life I still thing she did an incredible job, the cast is great as we all know , she did not have a big budget like Chris and David will have. She is always enthusiastic and happy. Well done Catherine and Thank you
