ACCESS HOLLYWOOD: WILL THERE BE FIVE ‘TWILIGHT’ SAGA MOVIES?

Posted August 21st, 2009 By: Team Switzerland 31 Comments »

Access Hollywood recently got the opportunity to sit down with Eclipse newcomer Boo Boo Stewart, who plays the loveably Seth Clearwater, to talk about his new role and the Twilight Saga film franchise. In this new interview, Boo Boo talks about his understanding that there will not only be two more films in the franchise, but three. Read below for more:

“I heard there’s going to be three more movies,” he told Access Hollywood’s Laura “Dish of Salt” Saltman in a new interview. “‘Eclipse,’ ‘Breaking Dawn,’ and there should be one more.”

The star’s rep also noted the additional films when Boo Boo’s casting was announced to Access.

“Boo Boo Stewart will play the character Seth Clearwater in the next three installments of the wildly popular ‘Twilight’ film franchise based on the best-selling novels by Stephenie Meyer,” the rep said in a statement.

Only three movies in the series, “Twilight,” “New Moon” (out this November) and “Eclipse” have been confirmed by Summit Entertainment, who did not return calls when contacted by Access regarding news of the additional films.

“Breaking Dawn” is the fourth and final book in Stephenie Meyer’s series. Should a fifth film come to light, it is unknown if it would stem from a new story – or follow the “Harry Potter” franchise’s lead and split the final book into two films.

Boo Boo begins his “Twilight” career with filming this September in “Eclipse,” the third film in the series, as wolfpack member Seth Clearwater. The film is due in May 2010.

“In the first movie, he’s introduced and the part gets bigger as the movies go on,” Boo Boo told The Dish. “Jacob’s the biggest [werewolf] and then he’s right there.”

As always, I have to point out that Breaking Dawn hasn’t even been officially confirmed yet, so this news about splitting Breaking Dawn into two films is definitely not confirmed either.

In any case, what do you think about the possibility that there will be 3 more movies? Do you think Breaking Dawn should be split into multiple movies?

Yes! And Hooray! I only hope that if they do split up Breaking Dawn, that they film it all at the same time and just split the movies later. This would keep consistency between actors and directors and would allow the cast to move on to other projects.

  • SimpleM

well It would be … um … i guess interesting if they dlit up breaking dawn.

But maybe this means that they’ll make breaking dawn…. ok ok i KNOW IT’S NOT EVEN FINISHED but I gan drem… right?

  • twisneylove

for summit it all about the money right? so dont you think splitting breaking dawn into 2 movies will get them a lot more money? we would be paying to see 2 films, not 1. and we all know that twilighters will pay

  • Rachel

Oh, I hope not! I am a big time lover of the Twilight series, but I really hope they don’t split the last movie. I already feel that my wallet is wearing pretty thin these days and it seems like it’s partially due to my unhealthy obsession of Twilight. BD was my least favorite book of the series and I just don’t think I want it dragged out for two movies! I honestly kind of even don’t want BD made into a movie.

  • Mrs. Cullen/Black(Team Switzerland)

RACHEL WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU BREAKING DAWN IS MY FAV OUT OF ALL THE BOOKS!!! BCUZ IT REALLY SHOWS HOW THE CHARACTERS HAVE GROWN SINCE THE START OF THE SERIES.. AND NOT TO MENTION THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER.. ANYWAY I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE BREAKING DAWM INTO 2 MOVIES.. BD IS JST TOO LONG TO BE MADE INTO 1. THEY WOULD HAVE TO CUT OUT TOO TOO MUCH.. AND I WANT TO SEE EVERYTHING!!! I ALREADY HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT WHERE THEY SHOULD CUT IT… EITHER WHEN BELLA GETS UP TO GO TO THE BATHROOM AND SHE DROPS THE CUP AND REACHES TO GET IT THEN SCREAMS AND FALLS INTO ROSALIES ARMS AND THROWS UP BLOOD.. OR AFTER THE BIRTH WHEN JACOB IS DOWNSTAIRS LOOKING AT ROSE HOLDING NESSIE AND HES ALL MAD THEN ROSE LIFTS HER UP AND HIS WHOLE FACE CHANGES AND YOU HEAR A RACING HEART BEAT IN THE DISTANCE.. OR WHEN BELLA OPENS HER EYES. THEN AFTER EACH SCENE I DESCRIBED IT WENT BLACK AND THEN THE MUSIC PLAYS WIT ALL THE CAST AND STUFF. THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!! (BY THE WAY I TOOK ALL OF THOSE STRAIGHT FROM THE BOOK) SO MY VOTE: BREAKING DAWN SHOULD BE 2 MOVIES. (THE TWILIGHT SAGA BREAKING DAWN PART 1 & THE TWILIGHT SAGA BREAKING DAWN PART 2)

  • Leah

I don’t like that they are making two parts of Breaking Dawn. I just feel like they are trying to copy Harry Potter

  • Chrissy

This makes me sooooo excited! I don’t want to get my hopes up to much though : ) I would love to see Breaking Dawn as 2 movies. I think to really do it justice it must be 2 movies!! Its so long, and there are just so many important events that can’t be taken out. I’m thinking they stop the movie right before Bella becomes a vampire…. after giving birth to Renessme…. just my opinion : )

I totaly think they should split Breaking Dawn. Bereaking Dawn is one of the best books and to leave out too much information would completely ruin it. We need all of it. The wedding, the Honeymoon and maybe Jacobs side…but the ‘battle’ at the end should so majorly be donw well and not some 5 minute piece. Look how much they left out of Twilight and that book is way shorter that Breaking Dawn!!! PLEASE GET RENESMEE RIGHT!!

  • Marilyn

Um of course I hope they make Breaking Dawn into 2 movies. People think about this, if you have actually read the fourth book then you should know there is way to much to try and fit into one movie without possibly leaving out some really important stuff. To much happens and it all needs to be there. I will pay to see 2 Breaking Dawns just to get the whole story in the movie and feel like it was completed. Bring it on Summit!

  • http://xtra deltaNZ

Sweeeet! That would be cool so they could fit more in & not miss too much out

  • Amber

Breaking Dawn was my least favorite, so making it into two movies would not be cool. The only way I would LOVE the movie is instead of Having Stephanie Meyer’s ending they make a battle scene! I mean come on the whle book led up tp it and then…nothing! Well I guess we will just have to wait and see =D

  • miss_amanda

I am completely, 100% pro splitting!! I agree that it’s too long and has too much detail to try and shove into one movie. BD was not my favorite of the series… but I do like it, a lot. I especially love the part of the story from Jacobs perspective (even though I wanted to choke him out numerous times, and am Team Edward). I would like to have as much of every detail as is possible… and I don’t think it would be like copying Harry Potter. Come on! If they even decide to make Breaking Dawn, they have to do it right, and in order for them to do that, it should be broken into two parts. Some of you won’t like it, and if that’s the case, there’s a very simple solution to that problem. DON’T SEE IT!

  • Oretha

I hope they split the movie in two.part one can be the wedding the honeymoon and end with the scene wher Bella runs to rose. They could also give us the story all us older people want which is the inlaws meeting. Its one of the fanfiction stories most explored and I know Stephanie would love to see it.she has always said that there wa more she wanted to tell in the story and this is perfect.

  • http://twilightersanonymous Marianne

I too think that Breaking Dawn should be split into 2 movies. There is just too much material in that book and to leave out any of it would not tell the whole story. Bella deserves to have her Happy Ending right to the very end, and we deserve to see it.

  • Cora

I would MUCH rather sit through a LONGER movie, then go see 2. I just don’t want to wait. There is a lot of “Fillers” that doesn’t NEED to be in the movie. Unless…….They continue in the pattern they are currently on….every 7 months or so they release a new one. (With the exception, of course of Twilight and New Moon) My son outgrew Harry Potter and they are still making the films. I just think if they drag it out to long, to milk us for all were worth, they will lose some of the fan base. But if they push them out every 6-7 months then that might be ok. But I would NOT want to wait a year in between. That would be maddening.

I think BD should be made into two movies, only so they can keep it right. On the other hand, they should release them within a reasonable amount of time, not spread the two parts too far apart. And if you went to see part one, the theater issues a free or 1/2 off price for a ticket to part 2.

  • KATIE

Hmm..odd. I heard that Breaking Dawn WAS confirmed, because this site that I got info for casting from..for the part of bree..already has BD up on the casting site. They also put on there that it WILL be in 2 different ones…[Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2] so I’m 99.9% sure that the “5th movie” is just the 2nd half of BD. Nothing to get too excited about. :]
Unless they’re going to turn Midnight Sun into a film if Stephenie finishes it?! [which BTW..I've heard flying rumors everywere that she made a statement saying that she's going to finish it..but I've seen no such thing. Oh well..I hope she does!]

  • twisneylove

i wouldnt mind seeing bd broken into THREE FILMS! after all, the book was broken into THREE parts.you could have the wedding and the honey moon be part 1. then the pregnancy and the split of the wolf pack and the birth be part 2. then baby renesme and the vamps getting together to fight the volturi be part 3… just like the book!

  • Else

they should break in Eclipse movie at the part in Charlie’s house after the big fight and before Bella visits Jake to check on him and has her melt down. Maybe when Charlie asks her to let him know if she were going to leave as he felt that it was coming. by Gliding into the whole engagement(Eclipse) & (BD), wedding stuff and make the visit to Jake that was prior and the decision to stay with Edward a flashback then go all the way through to the jake stuff in BD, and they should fade to black as she starts to hear Edward talk to her when she is dying after giving birth. 5th movie–> Transformation chapter, through to the end.

If they did it like the book in the way it is broken down, the jake part would be too boring. and there is no culmination after the honeymoon. You need to break at the drama , as so much as we would hate it.

  • SimpleM

SoRRY I MADE A M ISTAKE IN MY COMENT!!! … IT’S THE SECOND COMENT…. I WANTED TO SAY THAT MAYBE THEY’LL MAKE MIDNIGHT SUN INTO A MOVIE

not breaking dawn but midnight sun

  • melissa

i’d love to see breaking dawn be made into 2 movies. and “Leah” they’re not copying harry potter, cuz then harry potter would’ve copied pirates of the carribean. b/c they split the ending into 2 movies. the reason they’re prolly gonna split it is b/c twilight fans are all about them keeping directly to the story, and there is alot to tell in that book. go BD! & it would be cool if midnight sun was made into a movie. :]

  • http://twilightersanonymous the greatest twilight series fan ever.

omfg, if they make BREAKING DAWN into two parts i will freak. theres no reason to. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HOLLOWS has to because its a 759 paged book with details that if any are taken out, the whole movie would make no sense. and boo boo stewart is hot. :)

    go team edward!

  • Erenn

Everyone is concentrating on the possibility of BD being split into 2 movies… but what about Boo Boo as Seth Clearwater? :)

In my opinion, he’s PERFECT for it!! He’s exactly who I would picture for Seth. Bubbly, with the “happy-to-be-here” vibe just emanating from him… And check out the abs!! Nice kid! Very nice! WAY too young for me to be ogling the physique, but he’s definitely a cutie!

  • Nana

I hope they don’t split breaking dawn because I really wouldn’t want to wait for the next one a whole year after. Plus the harry potters ending didn’t really make scence to alot of people and if they split breaking dawn… Well the movie would be like an hour long. It’s mostly filled with detail that makes it a thick book but if you really think about all that happened it would be like an hours worth of a movie

  • isabella

isnt eclipse coming out june 30th?

  • Ana

I would very much hope that ‘Breaking Dawn’ will be made, we haven’t had and clarification from Summit at this point. I think it would be a good idea to split it into two movies, to address a comment below; it wouldn’t be copying ‘Harry Potter’. ‘Breaking Dawn’ is a large book, and there is a lot to fit in. It only makes sense to split it.

  • CrescentHeart3

i personally think they need to break it into two movies. pre-transformation the first movie and post-transformation the second. just because they both have such major plot lines that can’t be skimmed too much so unless the producers want to pull a six hour lord of the rings movie they need to seperate the two.

  • GlitterInMyHeart

Okay, firstly, Summit is clearly avoiding the topic – they are waiting for New Moon to come out to see if it will be a succes or not, same with Eclipse. If new moon and eclipse go well *im really sure Eclipse will* then Breaking Dawn will be confirmed. And 3 parts of Breakin Dawn would be TOO MUCH, but 2 is exactly perfect.
But i think summit is keeping a surprise from us, so we’ll just have to wait..

  • Gina

If twilight fans want all the important aspects of Breaking Dawn in the movie, it will most likely have to split in two movies. Even Stephenie Meyer, I believe said, that it would have to be most likely split in 2. It also gives Summit Ent. another reason to pro-long the twilight franchise and make more MULA!

  • Haylee

I really do hope that they make BD into 2 movies but I don’t want them to release it like 6 months apart like they are doing with Harry Potter. That would just suck!!!!

  • Heather

    A couple of things:
    1. No one’s going to make Midnight Sun, because it’s the same book as Twilight, just told from Edward’s perspective instead of Bella’s, so it would be exactly the same story. (Speaking of which, Stephanie, my Twilight saga is looking very lonely on my bookshelf without Twilight’s companion).
    2. I think there’s two ways to go with BD. If they’re very, very careful with the script and directing, they could make it into one film, but it better be 3 hrs long (minimum) or we’re going to lose out on soooo much. Does anyone else want to get jipped on the wedding? Not me.
I want to see the wedding (it’s the BEST wedding scene I’ve ever read in a book and I read A LOT), a Vampire bachelor party, and a vampire/human bachelorETTE party, Renee and Esme, Alice putting it all together, Edward and Emmett teasing Bella about her two cars, Jacob barely making it to the reception, Edward pulling the garter off with his teeth while Emmett and Jasper are howling with laughter (in front of Mike Newton and the rest of the Forks High gang), saying goodbye to Charlie, traveling to Rio, a midnight swim and “Why am I covered in FEATHERS?”.
I want to see a honeymoon and Bella trying to seduce her overprotective husband and eating lots of eggs and his reaction to her “good dream” (nothing graphic, please, that would ruin it). I want to see Edward freaking out about the little nudger and Carlisle trying to figure out what to do.
I want to see the argument when Edward and Bella get home and she runs to Rosalie, who won’t let Edward and Carlisle do what they want to do, and the others taking sides on that issue.
I want to see all the internal pack politics that lead to Jacob breaking free and forming his own pack, and blonde jokes, and a smashed-flat metal mixing bowl that says “Fido” on the side, and an Astin-Martin Vanquish, and I’d like Leah to have some kind of closure in the movie, if not the book.
I want to see Edward and Alice anxiously awaiting Carlisle, and Jacob and Rosalie becoming nursemaids, and squabbling for the priviledge to be so, while Bella is out cold.
I want to see Bella’s first hunt, and her realization about Jacob and Renesmee and the Loch Ness Monster (and Edwards, for that matter), and her reaction to the cottage and her new wardrobe, and armwrestling with Emmett, and bringing Charlie a little bit into their world, and Irina, and the Amazons, and Siobhan’s coven, and Peter and Charlotte, and Garrett and the Denalis, and Alice and Jasper searching in So. America, and J. Jenks and the Volturi, and more wolves than even the Cullens know about when the Volturi show up.

I don’t want to give up any of that, and unless they’re super, super-careful, we’ll lose out on most of it, so I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m okay with two movies, if that’s what it takes to preserve the story.
