ASHLEY GREENE AT SAKS FIFTH AVENUE FOR CHARITY EVENT

We told you last week that Ashley Greene was hosting a charity event at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City for DonateMyDress.org. Below are some pictures from the event and what Ashley had to say:

Doing her part for charity, Ashley Greene took a break from the set of â€œNew Moonâ€ to host a DonateMyDress.org Prom Dress Drive on Saturday afternoon (March 14).

Held at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, Miss Greene is helping to encourage teens around the country to donates their prom and special occasion dresses to girls in need.

Talking about why she got involved with the good cause, Miss Greene described herself as coming from a poor family in Florida, telling, â€œI started working when I was, like, 13 or 14. My friends were, like, â€˜Why are you always working?â€™â€

I was the first in line in the second section to meet her. She was truly lovely.she and I talked about shopping.I was to happy to tell the regular patrons why we were there. It wa a good turn out too.

I was able to attend the event on Saturday with some other twilight friends and I have to say, Ashley couldn’t have been more gracious and down-to-earth if she had tried! She really took her time talking to everyone and was genuinely interested in what people had to say. It was a very low-key event and it was nice to be able to interact with someone associated with the series that we have all grown to love. After the autograph and picture sessions, she actually walked around the store department a bit and we were able to approach her and talk to her some more, which she did most willingly. We got some great pictures with her, but more importantly we were able to witness first hand just how great of a person Ashley really is! We wished her the best of luck on all her projects on behalf of all her fans.

yeah i was second in line in the second group with my friend. ashley was sooo nice. and she was really really pretty in person. the wait was worth it. seventeen magazine interviewed my friend and i after. it was really awesome.
