ASK ALICE: VMA’s A -LIST STYLE FOR D -LIST PRICES

Loved the Twilight star’s 2009 VMA looks? This week’s Ask Alice has got you covered on all the how-to’s to be able to achieve their styles.

This year’s VMAs were probably one of the most anticipated for our fandom-there was so many things in it for us! From a new New Moon trailer being unveiled, Death Cab for Cutie’s soundtrack single, and a performance from Muse?! It appeared as if the VMAs was more centered around New Moon then the actual music videos. Of course with all the attention fixated on everything and anything related to the saga that meant extra love for our beloved film’s stars.

With Ashley Greene being the VMA’s fashion correspondent, my interest was definitely piqued as Ashley always tends to look amazing at any event. I was also looking forward to see the rest of the cast that would be making an appearance along with their outfits. I was refreshingly surprised by their wardrobe choices. Ashley had two outfits for the event: one in which she arrived in and one to switch into for her job on the red carpet. My personal favorite was definitely her second outfit. She wore a beautiful burgundy avant-garde skirt with a pair of gorgeous patterned black tights. (Click the style board link below to get Ashley’s look for less!)

Now although both Edward Cullen and Jacob Black incarnate-Rob Pattinson & Taylor Lautner-were present at this year’s awards show, it’s pretty clear that all eyes were on Taylor and his dashing Calvin Klein suit. The sleek coal/grey number fit Taylor like a glove, making the standard black suit look out dated. To get a similar looking suit like Taylor’s make sure to visit his style board at the link below.

All of the cast members looked great on Sunday but the one who blew me out of the water the most was Kristen Stewart. She looked stunning in her silver Valentino cocktail number and her new edgy hair style. The girl just pulled out all the stops this year! Due to Kristen’s dress being apart of a new line from Valentino, I was unsuccessful in finding something even 50% similar to it. But I am able to find her gorgeous pumps! Kristen’s Hairstyle styled by Celebrity Stylist for Pantene, Hallie Bowman:

* Hallie started by shampooing and conditioning Kristen’s hair with a moisturizing formula to create a good base for styling
* She began by cutting bangs to create roundness around the cheekbones, a look that is complimentary of her heart shape face

Ashley’s Hairstyle styled by Celebrity Stylist for Pantene, Danilo:

* Starting on wet hair, Danilo sprayed the Pantene Pro-V Root Lifter Gel on her crown to prime her hair for a voluminous shape on top
* Since Ashley was stationed outside on the red carpet, Danilo combed through the Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Ultra Smoothing Balm from the mid-shaft of her hair to the ends to keep it looking sleek and frizz-free despite the humidity
