to be honest I think no one has ever named a baby girl name Renesmee but if I ever decide to have a kid and it’s a girl I wouldn’t mind using that name

  • Mich

I love the name. It almost has a Victorian sound to it. I don’t know anyone who has used it yet, but I am sure we will see a boom of Twilight names for babies in the very near future, especailly Renesmee.

  • Joanne

it duz sound Victorian….. and ya ther wil sooo be a boom of of Twilight names 4 babies SOON!!! especially wit da movie cuming out…. aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh i love the name renesmee!!! soooo cute!!! i actually mite use it…. wen i hav kids!! hahah im only 15…. =P lol i love how they added that it was a mix between Renee and Esme… and that it came from Steph’s Twilight!!!!! =O aaammmaazing….

  • http://twilightersanonymous.com/index.php/component/option,com_mojo/Itemid,/p,265/ Kaitlyn

wow i dont think i would name my kid that but its a nice name not something you hear everyday.I dont think i know any one that would want to name there kid RENESMEE.

  • kerri

Do you know whats funny, just like any popular movie or book, if a name is unique, you’ll start seeing babies named after it. Hermione, Ariel, Bell (Isabella) from Beauty and the Beast…etc. Expect Renesmee and Bella and Edward to creep up in the next year. If I had a girl, Id name her Bella.

  • VanessaC

I love the name too… I think it’s so funny that a lot of ppl like REALLY hated the name and thought it was too weird, etc.- b/c, 1st of all, renesmee herself wasn’t exactly normal, so having an abnormal name seemed fitting- Stephenie Meyer herself explains that- and 2nd of all, b/c I really liked the name- I thought it was very pretty and elegant, and not nearly as bad as some real names of ppl i know/have heard of-has anyone paid attention to what celebrities are naming their kids these days? if you have, you’d know the names are way weirder and way worse than “renesmee”- maybe it’s just me, but that name never really struck me as being that weird anyway- I mean, it was different/unique, but in a pretty way and- Idunno- it just never really struck me as sounding that odd. But that’s just me- I know some ppl really hated it b/c they thought it was way too weird, and i totally respect that opinion- I’ve just always liked unique names myself, so that’s probably why it didn’t bother me. after all my favorite name is Soraya, and most ppl have never heard of that…. neway, time to end this now (this has already gotten way longer than I intended it to).

  • abigail

I actually think Renesmee is a cute name. If I remember in the future I’ll probably name my kid that (:

  • Rob’s SpiderMonkey

i would name my kid Zaphrina.

  • danielle

I think Renesmee is a really cute name! If I have a daughter I want that to be her name or middle name. :]

  • Sagan

I didn’t like it at first, but it’s really grown on me, but I can’t really talk about unusual and wierd names, my name’s Sagan. I know it’s not unique, I’ve never actually met anyone named Sagan, but I’ve heard of them.
    Tata, fellow Twilight obsessors

  • Kristin

I want to name my daughter Arabella so I can call her Bella (beautiful in Italian). I do like the name Renesmee. It’s unique.

  • VanessaC

Dude, Rob’s SpiderMonkey, that is an awesome idea… I love that name. Plus, Zaphrina herself was pretty cool.

  • Lauren

I’m still iffy on Renesmee. I mean, it’s cute I guess, but I couldn’t see a real human being named that. I love the name Isabella…but my last name is Bell. My poor child would be Isabella Bell! LOL. So no, I won’t do that. But I agree, I think in the next few years, we’re going to see a lot more Bella and Edwards out there. I do actually find some names in Twilight nice.

  • LuvinVampires

I LOVE that name! When i have a kid i want to name her Bella- Renesmee!!! It would be SOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!:-*

  • Mori

MOST RETARDED NAME IN THE WORLD. I cry for the child who gets named that.

Lets just name our kids Resume and get it over with. CUZ THAT’S WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE.

  • Zandalee

I have no idea why there are some people that don’t like the name Renesmee!! When i first read it I thought it was beautiful.
Yes it’s very unique and that’s why I love it..duh haha my name is Zandalee!
When I have a baby girl, I’m definetly naming her Renesmee!

  • Caroline

I think that Twilight Fans are blinded by their love for Edward (or whoever their favorite is) SO MUCH that they can’t see the ridiculousness that is S. Meyer. The names that she did NOT ‘create’ are good. But even then sometimes she makes bad choices… lets take ‘The Host’ for example and how she totally MANGLED a perfectly good name (Wanderer) into WANDA. WHAT?! No offense to anyone reading this who’s name IS Wanda, but that is just… no. Not a name for a kick-ass space alien.

But… I guess can we really blame S.Meyer. Her husbands name IS Pancho… she’s just, surrounded by strange and or bad names.

But come ON. Who can even pronounce Renesmee correctly? It doesn’t sound elegant. I’m a writer myself, and I know all about creating names, but make them sound somewhat interesting. Seriously, name a kid that and they’ll just get called the Lochness Monster, much as Bella’s kid did.

  • AlexandraB

I love the name Renesmee! It’s so cute! If I had a baby girl I would name her Isabella Renesmee and my boy would be named Edward but I’m only 16 so who knows. I love how they gave the origin of the name, Renee and Esme, and said that it was created by Stepehnie Meyer herself for the Twilight series.

And Caroline you need to loosen up and be creative. Just because you’re a writer doesn’t mean that you know good names. There is nothing wrong with Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight series or The Host for that matter. You clearly need a life and to get an imagination. Haven’t you ever fell in love with a book character before?

  • Jennifer

OMg LOsers I love this name and yeah
ima See the movie in ur face bye :P SO yeah

  • SuperGrandma

I looked each part up on a site called Baby Names and Meanings. Help for When You Are Pregnant for Sure. Yes, it says Renee is reborn and Esme is esteemed or could also mean emerald. Both are very nice. They make an interesting combination.

  • edwardlover#1

I think renesemee is a totally awesome name i probably wouldn’t give that to my daughter as a first name, but it could really work as a middle name. My daughters first name would have some sort of the nick name Bella, but Isabella’s kind of been heavily used. I loved the whole Arabella thing that’s unique and i could still call her Bella.

I also think Edward is an awesome name, but i wouldn’t name my son that. First of all cuz I TOTALLY love Edward Cullen and it would kinda creep me out to have the name of my son as the same name of the guy i have totally fantasized about. Secondly his friends would probably give him a nickname like “Eddy” or “Ed” and that defeats the purpose.

Sooooo, leave a comment on what u think about my logic!

  • kahela

See i have twins girls named Renesmee and Giavaghna they ae the love of my lfe. Im also a teenage mother. I absoulte love that name my girls are two almost three months old.

  • Bella

    i love the name

  • Erin

    I KNEW it!
First time I heard the name I had this flash-forward to several years in the future when I will be standing in the kitchen making brownies and my young daughter will come in and say “Mommy, can Renesmee come over and play?” and I will fall to my knees and cry “Sweet goodness, NOOOO!”

Renesmee is just as bad as Albus Severus in my opinion.

  • Karina_Ck23

Not sure about Renesmee, but as I am okay with both Esme and Renee (quite like them both), Esme Renee may actually work for me!

  • Marina

Honestly, I do not like the name at all. Really, I don’t think that it is that much worse than naming your kid Bronx. The name is awkward to read and awkward to say. It also gives off the impression that either Stephanie Meyer was too stumped to think of a good name, or too lazy to flip through a baby naming book and find a name that actually MEANS weird or special, as the character is supposed to be. She was obviously too lazy to accurately research her Native American tribes anyway.

I weep for whatever kid is going to be named Renesmee in the future. What I’m really interested in is how many Edwards and Bellas there are going to be. I love the name Bella, but now I can’t name any child of mine that because I refuse to name my kids after patriarchal-dependent, flat characters.

  • Corinne

I was looking at the list the other day and Jasper made the top 100 last year

  • georgiana

actually, the name ‘renesmee’ is cool for me. and it pronounced RENES-MAY, right? *well, i read it from the book*

the name’s pretty unique. personally, i dont really like the common names such as bella or rosalie or alice or edward.

i prefer RENESMEE and JASPER :) but esme or emmett is cool too. lol

totally gonna name my girl renesmee someday.

  • cherry_ripenz

I’m due in October and seriously thinking of naming a girl renesmee. I think the only way i will get put off is knowing there will be millions more born with that name, so either that or create one of my own.

  • rachel

Renesmee is definitely the most graceful name i’ve ever heard, in my own opinion. Isabella comes second and Rosalie runs third :D

but in the far future, if i have a daughter, i would give her something that’s variant from the Twilight characters.
like, edwardlover#1 said, it would be creepy if you have a son who have the same name as the vampire you swoon over.
    LOL

so something variant from their names would be okay. like for Edward, you can name your baby boy Edison.
i searched it up and the meaning of the name, Edison is literally “Son of Edward”
maybe something that’s related to their names would be alright.
that’s my opinion, of course (:

  • kandyce

lol thank all of you that like the name i am 18 and i just had a daughter and i named her Renesmee Michelle :) she is my world and is beautiful i love her!!!!!!

  • courtney

the name renesmee is the most wonderful name ever and i am naming my daughter that and if i have another one she will be named rosalie and my son will be edward it is kinda cool cuz my future husdands middle name is edward and i will have one more twilight name i just dont know which one yet.

  • Alexandria

Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against the name renesmee..However I Cant see myself naming my daughter that..people would always screw the pronouciation up and stuff..I do like the name zafrina though.. I totally agree with Erin also lol..

  • http://RENESMEE MARLEN

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE NAME RENESMEE. IM A HUGE FANATIC OF TWILIGHT IT IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. I AM NOW IN THE PROCESS OF ADOPTING A BABY GIRL AND I AM NAMING HER NESMEE OUT OF RENESMEE.

  • http://google Feflower

I think Renesmee is the grossest name ive ever heard of!!!I feel sorry for any kid who is named that!!! It’s as bad as ‘moon unit’!!!!
Carlie would of been a better choice!!!!
    B T W

  • Leia

in honor of Stephenie Meyer, I’m naming my kid CHAGRIN.

  • liz

  • meh!

i like the name rensemee but i would never nave a future kid of mine that. but lol just watch a whole bunch of twilight names will be on that list soon! lol

  • Erin

I like the name Renesmee but I wouldn’t name my child that.
I did however name my dog Bella…thats about as close to the whole naming someone after a book series as I will get.

  • Bella_Swan_Cullen_Girl

I love it soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much, I am 17 in november and I am (in the future of course) naming my Daughter Renesmee, my other daughters will be Lyra and Keledry-Anne

  • Kaidence

I am 25yr & have a baby girl, she is a 5 weeks old. Her name is Renesmee Deborah.
I fell inlove with the name when i was reading the series.
My husband had his heart set on Bella…

  • Bella_Cullen_Girl

Do you think this is true about Renesmee. this is the numerology meaning

    3

The Three Person: Fun loving, Nuturing, Social, Patient

As a three individual you enjoy being in life, and the simple pleasures that it can bring you. Family life can be extremely important to you. You have the capacitity for fathomless patience, and you are often willing to wait for your goals to be accomplished. Although you prefer to let others handle much of the work needed for your goals, you can and will put yourself into the thick of things. You can flourish at activities, and pursuits which enable you to be in a non-structured environment, and be social. Life for you can be very pleasant if it centers in and around friends and family, and you allow yourself a non structured, and easy going existance.

  • vivian

I LOVE THE NAME RENESMEE!!!IM GOING TO NAME MY DAUGHTER THAT WHEN I HAVE A BABY GIRL :)

  • Ken Cox

You know, I love the characters but this will be no different in 15yrs… I am a drug rep, and can’t tell you how many times I have heard an irate black person complain that people can’t pronounce their name correctly and get quite offended. This will be all over. Can you imagine sitting in the Drs office and they call “Renesmee” and 4 girls look up?

Better name them Renesmee now, so they are the first, (before the 4th movie release) and don’t have the stigma of being one of thousands.

  • Jasmin

Wow, Renesmee is a very beautiful name. Though I can’t contribute to really naming that as an original name for my future daughter (I’m only thirteen) I’d love naming that as her middle name.
Considering how many Renesmees there will be in the future- it won’t be so unique anymore. Rather quite original. Something like Prelacies or Abeles would be good. I doubt though, most will name their daughters Renesmee for two reasons. Too many Renesmees will be in the world – and their family would probably criticize the name. Though I think it’s gorgeous. Renesmee should really be on a drop-dead-gorgeous baby. Not saying that all babies aren’t cute- which they are cute – just Renesmee was specialized for the most stunning little unique girl that had more perspective.
I, too, however, write short stories- trying on chapter. So I make up a bunch of unusual and beautiful names- and most people should really thank Stephenie Meyer as well for helping with your child’s future name.
By the way; there won’t be a Breaking Dawn movie. Stephenie Meyer stated and I qoute: “Renesmee is to hard to portray, there is no way to find her in the world.” End quote. I agree 100% though some girls have details of her- people may not agree with you. But, I really grant luck for every woman that names her daughter Renesmee- I’m sure she’ll be a special little girl. Flawless and stunning for the mother’s heart.

  • Alice

i am eighteen and completely in love with renesmee! she is soooo cute! the only thing i hold against her is how she feels about Jacob. he is a jerk. he messed up bella’s life! she already had edward. he is just a selfish *****. i also thought of a hybrid name for Rosalie and Alice: Rosalice. or jasper and emmett: Jamett
edward and bella could be ella, and all the girls’ names could be Allie (a for bellA, l for aLice, li for rosaLIe, and e for EsmE.) whaddya think? Renesmee is my favorite choice! plus if anyone likes seth and his tawny fur, name their girl Tawnee

  • ally

I name my daughter renesmee because i love that name it is the best!

  • Elena

Honestly, I hate the name Renesmee, it is as bad as Albus Severus in the Harry Potter series. I gave birth to my first daughter two months ago and named her Alice Elisabeth. Alice Cullen is my favourite character in the series and Elisabeth is just a very beautiful name. Later I realized Edward’s mother is carrying the same name -Elisabeth- too. If I had a son some day, he would be Edward.

  • jack

i like the name, but i doubt il ever name my kids it, i do like some names tho

  • Elizabeth

I didn’t like the name at first but it has really grown on me. Im 26 and planning on having a baby soon. I would love to call my baby girl Renesmee. Its not a name you hear all the time and its beautiful. I like the Twilight series but Im not overly obsessed or anything, I just like the name. Is it really that weird of a name??

  • armywife8605

I hate t say but you’re wrong about nobody naming their daughter Renesmee because I named mine Renesmee. My mother-in-law passed away Sept 5, 2007 and I wanted to find a name with meaning. The character in the was almost like I was as a child brown long curly, hair brown eyes, beautiful, just w/out the whole vampire thing. I went on to babynames.com and looked it up and saw what it ment. I was do August 23 of this year but she wasn’t born til Sept 2 which is three days from the two year mark of the day my husband’s mother passed away. So yes their is ONE CHILD with the name Renesmee out their.

  • chuchiss

I understand feeling a connection to a book, but come on! Renesmee is such an ugly name. It sounds like a disease.

  • armywife8605

I disagree I hate common names; but that’s my opinion. When I first read it in the books I thought it was unique and everyone whom asks her name and I say Renesmee think it’s a beautiful name even the doctor in the hospital who say “Ahh from Twilight series” said it was a beautiful name but we all have different opinions on our tastes in names.

  • TwilightGirl902

I already have the names for my kids picked out [: I loved the name Isabella way before the books came out though, so I’m not copying, but this is what I’ll name a boy and/or a girl:

    Isabella Adele
    Masen Aiden

I DONT CARE WHAT NAMES MY HUSBAND WANTS!! lol, jkjk :)

  • Nezzies-mama andrea

  • Andrea

I LIKED THE NAME RENESMEE AND ISABELLA BEFORE I EVEN READ THE BOOK I HAD HEARD THE NAME BUT DIDNT KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE IT MY NAME IS ANDREA AND RIGHT NOW ITS VERY UNIQUE TO SEE A BABY NAMED THAT I LIKE THE NAMES MAIELAYA AND KAILEENA(THE EMPRESS OF TIME OFF THE PRINCE OF PERSIA. • Amanda

After reading over some of the comments here, it seems like Renesmee is either a “love it or hate it” name. I personally had to repeat it in my head a couple times to get use to it. At first I didn’t really much care for it, but its sorta growing on me. My husband is the type that doesn’t want to do anything to draw attention to us or our future kids, so it would be difficult to use that name. lol. But I think I’m gonna name our future kids: Jacob Thomas (thomas is family name) and Michaela Isabella (i like the name michael but we have too many around us, so i improvised)

  • Laceyjle

well i have a 6 month old daughter and i named her renesmee its a very pretty and different name

  • Hate Nezzie's mama andrea

don't you dare name your child that. 1, your interpretation of the name Renesmay is horrible, and who the hell spells Isabella Izabela??

  • love u

yeah i flagged her comment i hated it so much. bitch.
tho i wouldn't name my child Renesmee, because I think that it soully fits Steph. Meyer's Breakin Dawn. There is no other child in the world that can fully fullfill the name that fits the perfect, ivory skinned, chocolate-eyed, bronze curled haired child that is so amazing and unique in every way.
    i love Renesmee Carlie Cullen.

  • lexi :)

Renesmee is a beautiful name if i have a daughter i plan on naming her this :)

  • Kim

I like the name Renesmee I think it is a pretty name and I love the meaning I am thinking if i have a daughter i want to call her that. I would call her that even if it wasn’t in the book it would just make sense since I am a christian and since the name means loved and she will be loved and reborn when you become a christian you are reborn
I also like the names Isabella which i liked before i even knew twilight existed and Savannah for girls and Andrew and Kellan for boys names. I like finding my name in books when i read them and thought it was cool when my name was in the twilight series

  • katixia

actually probably is. i named my daughter Renesmee but i changed the spelling just to make it unique i spelled it Renezzmee i know long huh i didn’ like the name Carlie so i changed it to Kylee
my mom didnt like the name thought she said it sounded stupid and that the name was to long what do you think about the name and the middle name

  • Unnownunknown

I named my daughter Renesmee, me and my husband loved the name!

  • This_is_my_addy2009

I would moat definitely name my baby after the character. It is a beautiful name!!! It’s different and I love the books. I think I will name baby, if it’s a girl, Renesmee Kyerah.

  • Kdudleywilton

Renesmee is a beautiful and unique name !

  • Danielle

I absolutely LOVE the name Renesme (I like it better with one E at the end though!) I am only 18 but I am dead set on naming my first daughter Renesme. It is honestly the most gorgeous name I have ever heard, and I think that a lot of people hating on the name are doing so only because it was created for Twilight. Now don’t get me wrong I am a huge Twilight fan, but that is not at all why I want to name my daughter that, it is just such a beautiful name. I also want to name my son Emmett, but not at all because of Twilight, I just so happen to like that name.
