Are You Completely Obsessed With The Twilight Saga? BY EdwardCullensLamb

When you began reading Twilight did you think your life would be so greatly affected by these characters? How quickly did you realize you were hooked? Do You realize it Yet? How has this Twilight thing of ours affected your life?
I started reading Twilight after ordering it online. I really didn’t know much about the books and could not understand why there were so many people at the Square One Mall in Saugus Mass to see Robert Pattinson.

I knew he had been in Harry Potter and a couple other small roles, But What was the big deal about this movie?

Yes I am obessed with The Twilight Saga! The first time I read Twilight, it completely sucked me in and that was a few years ago. I know I’m not the most obsessed fan but I’m alright. When the movie came out I had watched it in theatres 3 times. I know thats nothing compared to some people but I’ve never seen a movie in theares multiple times. When I start another book I get distracted because its not something Twilight related, but I try.

  • Midori

My first contact with Twilight was when I went to Borders looking for something to read. I’m stubbled onto Twilight quite by accident. I picked up Twilight and read it for about an hour. It was at that point, I decided that I better purchase the book or I’ll be there all day. The next few days I returned and purchased NM and Eclipse. How addicting these books are..after you finish one book, you have to know what happens next. Now I have the entire collection and reread them several times. I think attraction is the love between Edward and Bella, I guess Rob described it as an obsessive love, which is true. I’ve never known that type of love. The way Edward loves Bella is kind of beautiful and kind of scary. Twilight is such a story which grabs your attention and keeps you wanting more. I’ve tried other vampire stories, but they’re not the same. I have read Midnight Sun (Edward’s perspective) and it is just as addicting.

yes, i am obsessed with all the books and the movie. i have stood in line for hours to make sure i am the first one to get a new book that was coming out. i have posters all over my house, i have read the books countless times, i watch the movie every night. i have a tattoo of one of the sayings in twilight, i have everything i can purchase that pertains to the movie and books, down to the bandaids, i don’t go anywhere that the cds of the movie and the movie score are not listened to. i think that about sums up my obsession…..

I am completely obsessed with twilight! What makes me so crazy about it is that since I knw it isnt real, I can have sort of my own fantasy when reading the saga. I think this story is what the world needs cuz it takes u to a utopia where things are possible. If i ever found a boy or shud I say man, like edward and my world was like twilight, I would no longer need to read twilight. Bt since it is not twilight helps me to go to that place. :)

I loved the books as soon ad I got twilight after I saw the movie.I read all four books in a week they are probaly the only series I read every book of I don’t thing I have ever read books so fast I am re-reading them all again they are the best books I have read and will read in by life!!!!!

  • liv

I read all 4 books in 5 days! Since then I have read them all again at least 3 times. And I can’t count the endless times I have read Midnight Sun, I am totally addicted. I have seen the movie many, MANY times, and I listen to the soundtrack ALL the time. And the most embarrasing act that I have done since my insane addiction is call my husband EDWARD at a very inappropriate time if you know what I mean. I am in love with a fictional character, LOL! And that is the only reason I didn’t have some serious explaining to do. Ah, its sad how obsessed I have become…..

I TOTALLY AGREE with Midori.. Oh my gosh I felt the same way but mine was Barnes and Noble.. One of the Teacher I work with gave me a gift certificate to B &N so I bought and read it in three days.. I have never had an expirience like this with story.. It does have a huge affect on a person.. I love the whole Saga and I read Midnight Sun too, and love it… I hope that one day it will be published.. The funny thing is I didn’t want to read Twilight now look at my totally hooked… I don’t care it’s a great thing…

I had no idea that I would be so greatly effected by the characters at all. I realized I was hooked probably somewhere towards the ending of Twilight when I was scared I didn’t have New Moon so I had to go out and buy it. I spent my last tenner on Breaking Dawn because I just couldnt wait another two days to get it. I read the whole series in about a week. I took six weeks off college because all my twilight fixation needed to be fed and I’m coming to the end of my course now and I have to do double the work of everyone else is doing right now because of my time off.
I got wrapped up in the story from beginning to end and all my thoughts were involving some form of twilight saga information. I love the relationship of the family, I have never had a family, well I did but I lost it and the whole Cullen family, even Rosalie completely stole my heart and I would kill to be in that family. I think Edward is any straight or bi girls dream husband, I fell in love with him just like Bella! The unconditional love is what I have been looking for my whole life, with family and with partners so it was incredible. The whole Saga is amazing and four books just arent enough!

The first day i started reading twilight i was hooked and that was at the end of jan. and ui told my mom i would finish the series by the middel of feb. so thatn was about a week and a half i finished the first the next day then the second i read in one day tyhe third two and the fourth three because i had school in the way i saw the movie seven times in theater and ave seen it at least twenty more since then and i cant read anything without vampires or werewolves now.

  • bright_sky

i actually didn’t read twilight first… i was at my schools book fair and my friend offered me the book Eclipse. I didn’t want it, because i wasn’t into the whole lovey dovey i kissed a vampire crap. But i bought it anyway. And what do you know, here i am saying how obsessed i am with twilight. At fist i had no clue what was going on, after all i only got the last book, so i bought the whole series, and actually read them in order. Twilight was slow at the beginning but once the story became more complex i was hooked, and so on and so forth. Once the movie had come out i only felt the need to buy it! i love twilight and everything about it.

HI! I am completely new to the site!

Your post really hits home. I am 41 years old, and I actually RESISTED reading these books for several weeks, even though more than one friend was urging me to. I just could not imagine reading a book that was targeted to “young adults”…and was about a vampire falling in love with a human.

After one friend actually purchased one of the books for me, I felt obligated, but still held out for a few days before starting.

I distinctly remember beginning Twilight on a Thursday evening, and literally having to force myself to put it down to make dinner for my family. By Saturday, my heart felt like it was twice its normal size, I was letting my family know that THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ (and I have read hundreds of book in my life), and I was one Amazon.com ordering the boxed set.

That was 6 weeks ago. I have since shared the obsession with three friends, read the entire series 3 times, watched the DVD 5 times, and all the “extras” at least once, and the soundtrack is currently in my car’s CD player.

I, too, often struggle with the idea that I am 41 and obsessing over a 17 year-old vampire. But, the truth is, if you read Stephenie Meyers’ website – she never intended to write a “young adult” book. She is a grown woman, happily married, with children. She wrote a book about a dream she had, for goodness’ sake! My opinion is that someone at the publisher dubbed it “young adult” because they COULD – because no one has sex, does drugs, and the language is tame.

I also believe that, in many ways, grown women can BETTER relate to this story, because we remember falling in love – truly IN LOVE – that first time and all the emotions and pain that goes along with that.

At least, that’s what I tell myself to make me feel better! HAHA

  • Sue

I read these posts every day, but have never left a comment until now.
I can totally relate to Amy. I’m 49 and am TOTALLY OBSESSED with Twilight! My co-workers think I’m nuts (“What’s the big deal?” “Isn’t it for kids?”) and laugh at my TEAM EDWARD t-shirt, Cullen crest necklace and wallpaper of Edward, to name just a few things. I don’t care. I’m having fun and loving every minute of it!
I go to Hot Topic and Borders every few weeks, just to see if they have anything new that I “need”. (I won’t even mention eBay!) They probably think I’m looking for my kids, but I don’t have any! Ha.
I had to ask a bunch of friends before I finally found one who was willing to go to a DVD release party with me. (He had a good time and ended up buying the book!)
If anyone tells me I’m old enough to be Edward’s mother (yikes, ew!) I tell them that he is WAY older than I am!! Ha! So there!
    LOVE TWILIGHT!!! LOVE EDWARD!

At first I didn’t know what to expect of the Twilight Saga, because my riend and I were seeing who could get down with it first, but when I started reading it I mean WOW!!!!1 I loved it soooo much!!!! I realized I was hooked to it when my sister got annoyed by hearing me talk about it. LOL I convinced her to read it too, but I guess she didn’t like it. :( Twilight has totally affected my life DRASTICALLY and I don’t think I could walk away from the Twilight Saga and never come back…I would DIE. Sorry I’m being melodramatic…but I’ve tried to NOT talk about anything (And I mean anything) for a day and It was HARD!!!!
i know I’m obsessed because everything I hear or…well…anything…I hear reminds me of the books and I can’t keep my mouth shut from letting what I think spill out…My sister gets REALLY annoyed, and sometimes my friends do too. XD LOL
But most of my friends are as obsessed as I am so It’s all cool.
I have read the twilight books too many times to count, and I have the DVD of Twilight, and I plan on getting ALL of the others. :) But I have seen that movie MILLIONS of times.
I’m TEAM EDWARD all the way!!!!
And I too, have changed like all of my pages (Myspace, Facebook, MSN…etc…) to anything about Twilight. :)
    I am so obsessed. :)
I get E-Mails from this site EVERYDAY, and I’m greatful, I want to know everything about the Twilight Sagas, and I can’t wait for the rest of the movies to be made!!!!!!!
It’s so hard, because now all I want to read is Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse or Breaking Dawn. I’m not intrested in anything else anymore. When anyone (that knows I’ve read all of the Twilight Saga) sees me reading the books again, they ask me “Are you readingthat, AGAIN????” It’s funny. :) But It’s not my fault that I totally ♥ those books!!!
I ♥ the TWILIGHT SAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! forever and always!!!! I am the #1 fan!!!!!

I am completely head over heels in love with twilight!! I had never thought it would be a great series when I first heard of the book and heard they were about vampires. That was never my style of reading. Then back in February, some friends of my and my teacher had been talking about the series and saying how much they loved it. I decided that I would at least give it a try to see what the hype was about. I went that day to the library and decided to get both Twilight and New Moon; I was over half way finished with Twilight at the end of day and by Friday (I started on Tuesday) I was dying to find someone who had Eclipse because the library had not yet ordered it in yet. Needless to say, I was finished with the entire series by Tuesday of the next week! I have been completely obsessed ever since!!!

it has become my lifestyle ,sometimes i just wish for the book to be true !! i always beg my mom for twilight stuff i always take twilight related quizzes i am forever proud to say that i am superly addicted, obsessed and crazy about twilight

  • Gayle

I’d never heard of Twilight. One day I rented the movie and became obsessed. I got the book and read it in one day. I couldn’t get to the store fast enough to buy the rest. It was like I was going to a drug dealers to buy drugs. I was nervous and excited, and irritated the traffic wasn’t moving fast enough. I coddled my package of books into the house, closed the door and escaped for a week. Now I’ve seen the movie 5 times and re-read the books, something I’ve never done in my life.

It’s hard for me to understand how addicted I’ve become. I think about it all day and now I’m dreaming about it. This morning I woke and my mind was spinning out sceanarios of Edward and Bella. I’ve never been obsessed with anything before and this is blowing me away. I can’t get Twilight out of my head. I wonder if some powerful supernatural force is causing this obsession? Because, it just doesn’t feel natural, this obsession that’s taken over my life.

  • mmp1994

Yes, I would say I am obsessed with everything Twilight! I am 38 years old and a little embarrassed to say the least. I watched the movie first not even knowing the full extent of the Twilight Saga. My sister urged me to read the books and let me borrow everything but Eclipse(she had let someone else borrow it). When I started reading, I could not put it down. When I finished New Moon, I just went out and bought all four books at once. Knowing I would read again and again and so on. I check internet everyday about anything concerning Twilight. Love Twilight Moms. My husband knows I read books sometimes, but has no idea what and the extent. I am sneaky. I can’t concentrate at work sometimes!! How do you get over the obsession? Can anyone tell me?
