TA TALKS BACK: BELLA AND EDWARD, FALLING IN LOVE
Was it too fast, you decide:
Some of my family members who haven’t read Twilight recently seen the movie. They all said that they liked it except for one thing. “Bella and Edward fall in love too fast.”I’ve heard this from other people too. People who have and have not read the books.
I really think they did all they could do in the 2 hours that they had. I know there was stuff in the book that we wish were in the movie. But I think the movie came out alright.

they did fall in love really fast but as the biggest fan of twilight i think it came out fine!! looking forward to NEW MOON!! YAY
Who’s to say what is too fast? In the interest of moving a film along, I think they did a good job showing progression in the relationship despite the perceived “speed” that some may think.
In the movie I think it did seem like they fell in love really fast. They took alot of the build up to their love that was in the book out. I didn’t really like that part about the movie
I have always believed Edward & Bellas love was as binding and absolute as the wolves imprinting, so why not so fast anyway?
Maybe if you have never fallen in love at first sight, you can’t understand that being possible. I think we all fell in love with Robert VERY quickly! But then that’s just me!
Yes they fell in love fast but that was sort of part of the intensity of the relatioship, IMO. As far as the movie goes, the producers/directors/editors had to take months of a story and knock it down to less than 2 hours of film.
Why can’t people just enjoy a movie for the sake of the fantasy/fun/entertainment of it without breaking it down for every little issue it may have? My brother does that and it drives me batty (he went to film school…blech).
The first time I watched it I thought it was very confusing. I thought it went way too fast. But then at the end when you look back at it it seems perfect. I dunno. I like the last part of twilight. From meeting the Cullens to the dance the best. I love Rob.
Have you SEEN Robert? LOL
As far as the book, it took several months for them to really fall in love. The movie did seem a lot faster, but when you’re trying to cram a whole amazing novel into two hours…..
Not to mention, I thoroughly believe they have an overwhelming soulmate connection, which I think is like werewolf imprinting and true love at first site. I like that they weren’t together right away, but it did happen a little faster than I would have liked in the movie.
Strangely enough, I really don’t mind it. Either way, I loved both the movie and the books.
it came out great guys. I mean, it was a spon over months you jrkers. and onbody seem to care how fast Brooek feel in love with lucas on one tree hilll that fast after which I don’ rally care etiher. I lov the movie
I love that they fell in love fast. They gave more time to the movie. So I think it was better that way. Just be happy we got a good movie and of course we got Robert Pattinson…………..
I don’t think they fell in love too fast in the books, but I think it seems like they fell in love too fast in the movie considering they had to crunch down the story into two hours. Personally, I think they could have cut out the unnecessary stuff they added into the movie and added more Edward and Bella time instead, but overall, I think they did fine with the movie.
in the film, the transition of their relationship was sudden. in the book, although, edward has alice telling him that he loves her and i believe that sped it up on his part. bella really didn’t have a chance. who could resist edward?
i dont believe they fell in love too fast. (if you have read the books). really the one thing that bugs me most about the movie is the fact that they cut the meadow scene, which is when you really see edward and bella actually “fall in love”. in the book there is so much leading up to them falling in love, i dont see how (yet again, if you have read the book) you could think they jumped into it at all.
Well I think that if their relationship was a normal one it would’ve been fast but theirs is more complicated. And if you read the book you see all of the complications, romance, and drama that it has and that they just didn’t or couldn’t show in the movie.
i dont think they fell in liove too fast but i do think not enough happened to have them fall in love yanno?
just like in the book they talk a lot and have a bunch of those “oh ma God he makes me feel strange moments,” and a lot of moments where he “dazzles” her, but in the movie they had very few and i think thats what made the time between them in the book slow down.
I don’t they fell in love too fast because from personal experience, so did my husband and I.
Fell in love - I was 15 years old and he was 17 years old
Started dating - I was 17 years old and he was 19 years old
Married - I was 20 years old and he was 22 years old
Will be celebrating 29th wedding anniversary and he’s still my very own Edward
I agree with Caroline. Don’t get me wrong, I love the books and the movie, but especially to people who haven’t read Twilight, they fell in love too fast. We never got to see their intense connection grow like it did in the book, the meadow scene would’ve been the perfect time to do that but they cut it so short!
My sister (not a big Twilight fan) saw the movie with me and the first thing she said coming out of the theater was that although she liked it, she didn’t understand Bella being so infactuated with Edward. Still, I can’t wait for New Moon! Ahh =]
