TA TALKS BACK: MEANT TO BE OR NOT?

TA member ithomas talks about whether Bella and Edward were meant to be.
Since finishing the saga, time and time again, I find myself thinking that everything that was supposed to happen did happen. I’m a firm believer that Bella and Edward were meant to be together, as many of you probably do. Had Carlisle never been changed, Edward never would have had the opportunity to be with Bella as she was roughly 90 years younger. Which brings me to the notion that since Edward is a vampire, he and Bella are truly each others counter parts, Bella was destined to become a vampire as well. Throughout the whole saga there are subtle and sometimes very bold statements and facts that back this theory up.

I agree with you. It IS almost like she was meant for an immortal life. Her pale skin despite living in Az, the fact that she can smell small amounts of blood, the presence of a “talent” (shield) before she was even changed, her total acceptance of Edward’s way of life, all imply that not only is she a perfect vampire, but that even human, she was already half way there.
I am not sure that the emotional estrangement she felt toward her parents was a result of an underlying immortal trait so much as being raised by an immature mother and a distant father.
I feel that the immediate attraction between B&E is supposed to be an example of meeting your true soul mate. Nothing can keep them apart. Even Jacob’s manipulation didn’t work, too bad he didn’t understand that earlier. His immaturity and selfishness caused unnecessary pain for himself and Bella.
Like she suddenly realizes in Breaking Dawn: she finally feels like she BELONGS where as in her human form she always felt awkward and out of place.
Sorry guys, but Bella and Edward’s relationship was obsessive and unhealthy for almost the entire series. Can you tell I’m a Jacob fan? Lol. I always felt that Bella and Jacob were meant to be together. Jacob even said that if the world was set right, meaning no vampires or anything, that him and Bella would have ended up together, just like it was supposed to be all along. Sorry, I know some of you are mad because of that, but I was in a relationship like Bella and Edward’s and it was unhealthy and crashed into flames.
