TA TALKS BACK: ENJOYING NEW MOON

Posted April 27th, 2009 By: flick 4 Comments »

TA Fan Candice talks about the different insights New Moon gives you after reading it a couple of times.

Enjoying New Moon by Candice Shaw

There are many reasons to enjoy reading New Moon. We get to really know Jacob, and we witness Bella mature into a smart young woman. However, for a lot of readers, New Moon is the saddest and most heartbreaking book of the series. It was hard for me to get through the book the first time I read it, but after reading it a second time, I understood that it was necessary for Bella to go through this heartbreak and this part of life in order to maker her the woman she becomes in Breaking Dawn. There are a lot of quotes and events in the beginning of New Moon that foreshadow what is going to happen on that September 16th day; only 3 days after Bella’s 18th birthday.

I just read New Moon for the 2nd time. I am going through all the books again because I just read to fast the first time to get to what happened in Breaking Dawn. I agree that New Moon ripped my heart out at the end. For the most part because I am team Jacob. I do like Edwards as well but well Jacob could have offered her so much more. I think that this was a growing period for Bella and it also was a important book to show the realtionship growing between Bella and Charlie. I loved this book , prob the most of all. When I was reading it again i picked up onso many little things i missed before. Stephanie Meyer really knows how to pull on the heart stings of her readers. I felt the pain as if i as Bella and then as Jacob. I can’t wait to see it played out on the big screen.
here is somthing to ponder.. i thought about Charlies fondness of Alice. What if Jasper never came back. Could you see that one play out. Father and Daughter vampire team. Just a thought but we all love Jasper……………..

twilightmomma, all I can say is rock on. You practically said everything I’ve said before about New Moon. I am also hard core Team Jacob. At the end of New Moon, I was screaming in my head because Bella went right back to Edward without a thought. Jacob was always trully right there for her. Even in the short time he was keeping his distance from her in Eclipse, he didn’t really have a choice, people! Edward was, after all… grrr… way too overreactive, and kept Bella all to himself. Bella and Jacob were best friends, and he started ruining their friendship! But I’m glad it worked out in Breaking Dawn.
New Moon’s still my favorite, and both Twilight and Eclipse are tied for my second favorite.

Thanks Candice for sharing your insite and I agree. I am reading it for the second time also and am getting so much more out of it.. It is still hard to get through but I am enjoying it so much more.. It helps me understand why Bella went through the hell that she went through to get her in the place she needs to be in the rest of the series.. My Friend Emily is also reading for the second time we are eachother’s support group to get through this book.. I am still Team Edward but I have grown more Team Switzerland.. I love all of the books.. With New Moon I am also picking up way more than I did the first time.. Stephenie Meyer does know how to pull at the heart strings but I am glad that she wrote it the way she did..
