TA fan Kimberly discusses the hype that started for Twilight and possibly continues for New Moon:

Is the Hype Too Much? by Kimberly

As the creation of the movie ‘New Moon’ gets us all stirred up and in a frenzy, I’m left with an unanswerable question….. I think. Does ‘New Moon’ need the promotional hype that ‘Twilight’ received? Does it need mall tours and visits to every country that it premieres in across the world? I guess because I am so far from all of the hoopla and never have a chance to see or be a part of it, I just wonder do these actors need this torture all over again?

It won’t be a mall tour. They are building a brand. In addition they will likely have 4 tiers of a marketing plan (digital, print, press, tv)which will include the different age demographics and international demands. This is about building the franchise out and they have successfully managed to start it.You can see that what they are doing that why the phrase “the Twilight Saga” appeared. That’s marketing. They have basic gossip columnists feeling obligated to print about them every day. By the way, don’te ver put it past the studio to feed a story about it artists to stir up controversy. Ever heard the song “Twisted” by New Kids on The Block. The song is what fame does. its stardom and they are all tasting it big time. Thats what they do.Thats what starting to happen with these kids. The machine is strting to rev for them and doors are slamming open for them. It’s causing a new cash flow. There are dozens of people who are now interested and have never read the books nor ever intend to read them but are fascinated by this new story. Thats the audience thatw ent to the movie on week 4 and kept it in the top 10. Those are the people who are now tuning in and didn’t before. The ground swell is actually demanding more of them. This is what they all signed on for though. They want projects and to be able to pick and choose. You can see it happen with “little Ashes” “warrior” and the like. You wait. Its going to get bigger.

People need to give them a break. They have been non stop since the first one started. Although I can’t wait to see each and every movie from the saga, I do think we have to take the actors into consideration when it comes to their lives. I mean they are human just like us you know. Does anyone agree with me on this?

I could completely understand if they don’t do a mall tour for New Moon. Twilight was such a huge success so why would they need to? Plus I’ve read in other articles that the fans were too rowdy and screamed in their faces. Rob seems to be a relaxed person and probably doesn’t enjoy that sort of thing. I know I wouldn’t. But I think they should do some sort of meet and greet thing, you know, to interact with the fans. Or maybe go on a book signing tour with Stephenie, instead of a mall tour. A book tour is more of a relaxed enviroment. Places like Barnes and Noble would be great places.

    That’s just my opinion.

I am a huge fan of Robert Pattinson. I know I would LOVE to meet Rob or Kristen and the other cast members, definitely Rob though :) I’m a 28 year old mother and while I may faint if he even said hi to me, or if I by some miracle of a chance I were to see him even walk past me, I promise him I will not scream in his face. I went to a Taylor Swift concert and I’m a huge fan but I think I was the only one NOT screaming in the audience. I’m more of the person who would love to just hang out and have coffee, maybe a marriage proposal, haha, I’d have to get divorced first. I think he’ll just have to perform cpr on me which would cause me to have a heart attack.

I do agree with you heartache29, they are only human like us and they do deserve a break from all the hustle and bustle. What they do seems so easy to us but it’s hard work to act in a movie. Plus, I heard that right after they are done with New Moon they are filming Eclipse so when do they get a break?

And oretha, if you are Rob, I love you!! Do you know cpr? Just in case. HAHA!!
