TA TALKS BACK: KRISTEN STEWART INSULTED BY MTV CANADA

Posted March 19th, 2009 By: 16 Comments »

TA Fan Karen recently noticed that Kristen Stewart had been insulted on MTV Canada. Below are her thoughts about it:

Kirsten Stewart a B@$!$

As you all know in the fan world Kirsten Stewart is sometimes in interviews is uncomfortable at some questions asked. As you see in the video posted by Lion _Lamb you see that Kirsten was asked some questions and she couldn’t answer them at all. When the interviewer asked her about rob well her expression was not as you say not pleased with it. Soon as it was posted on you tube in the comments area people where saying how finally someone has noticed what a b?!@# she was.

The Examiner’s Amanda Bell also wrote about this incident:

Kristen Stewart called the B-word, MTV Canada smackdown, video here (warning, curse words)

“I just hated her face…” he said, “it was just rude,” the commentator says of Kristen Stewart’s hesistance to do on-screen kissing.
“She makes money off of Robert Pattinson. People aren’t going for her!” he added.

“It’s the idea that someone like her thinks she is better than you … is inexusable. She is horrifying.”

And more…

I don’t feel like he meant the apology. It was said and there isn’t any taking it back and MTV Canada got plenty of press off it.

I saw the video on Perez Hilton… I am Canadian and I must say that I am embarrassed by MTV Canada. Those hosts were sooo rude! Kristen was there to talk about ADVENTURELAND. She wasn’t there to talk about Twilight or Rob. And she didn’t roll her eyes! She just looked awkwardly at her co-star when the interviewer asked her about kissing him. Of course she’s going to have that reaction. Not many people are comfortable with personal questions like that. It’s like asking “What’s it like to have sex with a certain person?” NOBODY feels comfortable with that and kissing is just a couple steps below that. Also, Kristen has a boyfriend so that makes it even more awkward.

  • abbi

Wow. Those Canadian MTV staffers really overreacted. She wasn’t smiling so they tear into her like she has personally insulted them. They’re behavior was so unprofessional it was shocking to me. I mean yeah, she’s awful with off the cuff questions but it’s nothing personal if she thinks your question is bad.

Okay – should she have been called a the B word?, perhaps not. However, I am glad that someone called her on it. Her attitude, the way she carries herself, what ever you wish to call it. She is coming across as stuck up, rude, attitudinal, etc. As if these questions are beneath her – I TOTALLY GET IT – we all might be tired of answering the same questions or line of questions but its her job! We all do things at our jobs that we may say “great, not again….” but we do it and some of us don’t roll our eyes, or are rude to those we talk to because we’ve done it or heard it a thousand times before. AND if we dont’ want to continue to be part of that constant environment, then we’d change jobs right? I know she is young, but that excuse can only last for so long. She does have to face the facts that if it won’t for Twilight and its fan, she would not be where she is now. i am not taking “her talent” away from her, but I do know that it would have taken her a heck of alot longer to get where she is now if it wasn’t for Twilight!

The guy at least apologized but then again, its his opinion and he vocalized what many were thinking. Perhaps, Kristen herself will analyze her behavior and be “friendlier” going forward.

When you are interviewing someone about the movie they have coming out in the next week or so, it’s usually a good idea to ask questions about said movie. Especially if their co-star is also sitting in on the interview. They both looked flaberglasted by the question. The entire movie Adventureland is not based on a single kissing scene. The look on Kristen’s face didn’t strike me as rude, more surprised at the question. How would she know if the kissing scenes ever get easier? She’s really only recently got to an age with the roles she gets require her to kiss somebody.

Her Adventureland co-star has struck me as more put out in the interviews I’ve seen when people keep asking her about New Moon when they are there to promote Adventureland. Infact the interviewers seem to dismiss him so that they can talk about New Moon. I’d be put out by that too.

That female interviewer didn’t actually ask about Rob she just said his name and Kristen’s expression was more “OK. Please don’t ask me the boxers or briefs question cause I don’t know”

The intervew and the after show came across as very unprofessional. I actually think that Kristen has been doing better with her interviews just lately. When she did Letterman last year I found her very akward, but now she mostly answers the questions well.

However, the interview was about Adventureland and these idiot interviewers aren’t asking that much about the film and it comes across (at least to me) that Kristen feels bad for her co-star who keeps getting shoved aside so that questions can be asked about New Moon.

I think people need to give Kristen a break. Kristen is 18 and she hasn’t been in the spotlight much before Twilight. It takes time to get used to the spotlight. I think people need to start treating celebrities more like human beings. They do a job that, though it’s more public, is just the same as a doctor, lawyer, or any other occupation. If more people just remembered that these people are humans, and have human reactions and emotions, then maybe they could learn to sympathize with them more instead of dissecting every syllable that comes out of their mouth. Their job is to entertain people. Why should they be asked to change the essence of who they are just to make everyone happy?

That being said, I think Kristen has done a great job with the Twilight movies, and I think Adventureland looks good.

  • liz

Seriously people, give the kid a break. I agree that this was probably the 20th interview where Kristen was asked about rob and NOT about the movie she is there to promote. Add the fact that her co-star is sitting there and completely getting ignored, and I say the interviewers are the ones that are rude. Very unprofessional. I actually really like Kristen Stewart and wish everyone would try to remember that if there was someone taping the things you say and then analyzing every expression, every word, we would all maybe come off in a way that everyone might not like.

  • kirsten

It would serve MTV Canada right if the entire Twilight cast boycotted going on their show.

In future I think Kristen’s team will do what some celebrities are doing now and make them sign a waiver stating subjects interviewers are not allowed to approach

  • Tiffany

I think that was just plain rude, Kristen is a very nice girl and for that guy to be a total a-hole, it peeves me off watching him say that. She wasn’t there to promote twilight, she was there to talk about adventureland, maybe if that woman, would ask different, actual smart questions she wouldn’t of looked at you like you were RETARDED!
    IDIOTS.
    I’m on Kristens side.

  • twilightbloom

Unbeleivable. The treatment that Kristen got, the sophmoric and idiotic behaviour of the interviewer and the completely FAKE apology. And that apology wasn’t even to Kristen; it was just for saying the “B” word. How is it possible that those two still have jobs?
Kristen’s gotten much better in her interviews over the last year (heck, I’m proud of the progress she’s made!) and then these two yahoos come along and are total and complete douche bags.
Kristen did great; those two are complete losers.

  • twilightbloom

Totally fake apology. Kristen did great and deserves much better.

  • ZuZu

    that was mean.

  • Mac

That is just really rude but it is true you should leave her because it will just mess the movie up if she leaves and gets a replacement like really think about it……

  • Edwardluvver

i personally dont like kristen stewarts attitude about life and how she seems really self-centered and wanting to get fame off rpattz but that was really harsh

  • Nikki

    Damn, that was super-harsh,

look at it this way, if she wasn’t the way she was then she wouldn’t have been motivated enough to play one of our favourite characters

    Am i right?

She wouldn’t be Kristen Stewart if she isn’t the way she is and in which case wouldn’t play Bella Swan right.

  • Sarah

That was extremely rude. i felt like punching his face in
