TA TALKS BACK: TO WATCH OR NOT TO WATCH…THE TWILIGHT DVD

Posted March 24th, 2009 By: 6 Comments »

TA fan Meghan worries about watching the DVD. Will she not appreciate the movie as much now that she has unlimited access???:

To Watch or not to Watch?? by Meghan

To watch or not to watch?? All week long I looked forward to the coming release of the Twilight DVD, much like many others, I am sure. And Friday March 20th at 8pm, my copy arrived. Early, before the midnight release. I even frightened my doorman by yelling, skipping and explaining the whole movie to him before he asked the dreaded, “Isn’t that the teenage movie?” I simply frowned and replied, “I’m in denial.”

Now I sit and stare at the DVD with dread, excitement and anticipation- not unlike my feelings that led up to the film’s initial release..

i feel the pain, i have the bootleg as bad as it seems and i watched it everyday till i got my copy.. its all a matter of contol because the anticipation overrides the need to watch. try it once and im sure all fears will subside when you see your babes face.

That’s the same with me. I was so looking forward to getting my movie on Monday. When i got it i started like hyperventilating and jumped all around. When i started watching it i kind’ve just got bored with it, but i know that will pass. I think the reason i thought it was boring was because i actually saw it at our dollar theater on friday and watched my sisters copy of the dvd. I hope everything turns out for you!

I could not wait for the DVD, and when I rec’d mine in the mail, I could not wait to watch it. First I watched the 2nd disc to see the special features and deleted scenes! I’ll be watching it again probably one time every week, I can not get enough!!

Let me start with, I’ve seen the movie in theaters 12 times. I went to the dvd party to get my pre-ordered copy and I haven’t stopped watching it yet. Whenever I’m home,it’s been on. Not that I sit and watch it.I just love hearing Edwards voice, while I’m getting ready for work or cooking or cleaning. It makes me feel like he’s there. But right before I’m going to sleep, I watch the movie. I can’t explain this crazy obsession!!!! I think the more you watch it, the more you want it.It’s nuts what this whole Twilight thing has done to me.All I know is “I’m Alive” again, and know, my Edward is out there somewhere. Just so you know, I’m not a kid. I’m over 30.

I saw it twice in the theater’s and actually forgot alot of the details of the movie. So it is nice to be able to rewind and see a scene over and over. I was worried that I would be as addicted to the DVD as I am to the internet sites but it hasn’t proven to be true! Now seeing the movie a couple more times, I am saddened that they didn’t do a better job.

I LOVE the books, but just like the movie. I have no reservations recommending the books to everyone I know, with the movie I feel like I have to make excuses (they had a small budget, the director had only made “indie” type movies, the script strays from the book in some impt. ways, they aimed for a teen audience, etc.)
