Ariana poses a questions for us to ponder:
I’m not talking about the actor. Honestly, I could care less who plays her as long as it’s not Vanessa Hudgens. But that isn’t my point. What I want to know is who can see Leah’s side and empathizes with her.Think about it. First, your boyfriend and true love disappears for a week, comes back and dumps you for your own cousin, pactically sister, without an explanation. Living through that is hard enough without the added twists her story gets.

I feel the same way. As long as it’s not Vanessa Hudgens or any other Disney actress, I’m fine. But if they find the right actress, it could be a big breakthrough role for someone because Leah is so tortured and has personality, but has to be strong enough to play with the big boys. That chick from the New World movie with Colin Farrell was really good.
how could you hate vanessa so much? she’s an actress right? so she must be capable of acting like leah… she has the looks…you didn’t even give her a chance that she is more than just a high school musical girl….
I agree completly! No disney caracter (no matter the resemblence) should play Leah! i think there are alot of girls that could play her though in my oppinion
I agree. Vanessa is an out (actress or no, she can find a role that doesn’t screw with one of my favorite characters). But that isn’t the point of this post.
Leah is one of the characters i relate to most (Along with Jane…. What does that say about me? lol)
Can you imagine being set to be engaged and suddenly, out of no where, You’re boyfriend dumps you for you’re cousin and closest friend? HUMILIATED! MORTIFIED!
Sam says he fells horrible about it, but come on! How could he? He still gets a happy ending. He gets his girl, (you later find out that-) he gets his pack, and HE doesn’t have to deal with his little brother and ex-boyfriend-gone-horribly-wrong in his head every time he gets angry!
I can see how Leah would want to join Bella in that cliff diving experiment.
i agree with the non-disney character to play leah, they all suck! but i can actually understand leah’s character in the book, well mor in breaking dawn wen jake gets closer to her, but i dont really lik her.
I used to hate Leah when I first read the books. She just seemed like she need something like a pill or ahem..you know. But after reading the book the second time, I kind of put myself in Leah’s shoes. Like you said, you start to think about how it would feel like to have your high school sweetheart suddenly leave you for your cousin who is practically a sister (which, to me, is worse than him going after your BFF). You also find out later that you are a werewolf as well, but nobody really acknowledges it because the old legends only talk about “the sons” being given the gene to become wolves. On top of being ignored/overlooked like that, you lose your option of ever having a family of your own. Even if Leah never gave any indication she ever wanted to have kids, she did express some heartbreak in Breaking Dawn at the knowledge that she doesn’t even have the option PERIOD. I have grown to actually like Leah now (despite her stubbornness to become friends with the Cullens) and feel that I have a good understanding of who she really is (the real Leah she hides from everyone else as a defense mechanism). Before I even found out that Leah wasn’t going to be in the New Moon movie, I automatically wanted to audition for Emily because she wasn’t so bitter like Leah and I thought she seemed like a cool person. I didn’t even want to consider auditioning for Leah if she was in NM at the time. Now that I have a better understanding of Leah and with Eclipse auditions coming up soon, I would LOVE to have the chance to play her in the upcoming movies. Crossing my fingers that I get to!
I agree…Vanessa is just not a right girl for it…She just doesn’t look like Leah,well at least to me…She is more for playing a role of a human… And besides she is already famous,why not give a chance for someone new to breakthrough ?
I can understand why Leah is the way she is too but I don’t get why she doesn’t like Bella either! Someone said that it might be because she’s close to the Cullens and they are the reason why she is the way she is but that’s not a good enough answer 4 me! Maybe she’s jealous of the love Edward and Bella have? IDK! I like that she stood up for Jacob she just went about it the wrong way!
I dont think any disney girls (or boys) should be in any of the movies !

i like leah, i can understand where she is coming from but i dont know why she had such a problem with bella, i mean she must obviously be jelous of her, because of Renesmee, but i dont think that is enough 2 hate her so much…
I love Leah and definitely feel for her.I think Leah and Rosalie have a lot in common. Would love to hear a conversation between the two!!!
I totally think I should be Leah…I have MORE than just a little Leah in me (that’s why I wrote the article). We have more in common than I’d actually like - we’re both kinda bitter and more than a little disillusioned with the whole “love” thing.
