Yes, Robert Pattinson is gorgeous, but before we knew him as the incarnation of our favorite vampire, there is another Edward that most of us loved first. An Edward that chuckles, wears turtlenecks and even drives a different type of Volvo.In my opinion, book Edward is too light-hearted, but movie Edward comes off as too broody. Book Edward is quick to remind Bella time and again that she can and should leave him, and that he would completely understand.

No offence to Rob, but I have ALWAYS prefered Book Edward over Rob Pattinson. Rob looks almost anorexic, when Book Edward is supposed to have “lean muscles”. I think most of the fans are just so in love with Book Edward, that they would fall for any guy who got the role, even if it’s one who didn’t fit the bill. Sorry. That’s just my opinion.
If you haven’t seen the trailer for New Moon, wait until you see Rob in it! He definitely has the “lean muscles” and more…I don’t think any of us will be disappointed! He has the most incredible chest/6-pack…he has bulked out and toned up for sure! Love him…
I actually like Robert Pattinson’s body in both Twilight and now his toned body in New Moon. Personally, I prefer guys who are not beefed up like Taylor Lautner. I’ll take tall and skinny any day over bulky and muscled up.
Good points on the differences between book Edward and movie Edward. I love them both. If only we could put them together to make a happy medium.
I see them as the same Edward. Somewhat different but basically the same.
I love Edward for his goodness and his passion.
if you read the book we are waiting for, and combined it with the Twilight Edward, you’ll see that Rob combined both to present the total picture. He is brooding and moody because that is what the perspective is in the book we are waiting for shows us. I fell in love with both the book Edward and the movie Edward after reading this. I am praying it will be finished so we can complete the puzzle that is our lovable spooky Edward.
I love both book Edward and on screen Edward, maybe it’s because i can tell the difference between the two. I know that some people say that “Rob is Edward” and i’m like no he isn’t, he is an actor playing the role of a fictional character! I hate it when people cannot tell the difference between the two, its like with Daniel Radcliffe, people are like he is Harry Potter, and again i’m like NO HE ISN’T!! I understand how some people who have never read the books, or re read the books after watching the movie, see Edward as Rob, that is understandable, but i really get annoyed at people who say that Rob is Edward, and then they just assume that he is this perfect being! It must be really difficult to live up to fan expectations, and i think he is dealing with it so well, such an inspirational way!
I love New Moon Edward too… just because he has taken up the role of Edward it doesn’t mean he has to change his whole look and identity, obviously there was something in him that Catherine liked and thats why he was hired as Edward… and thank god for that!!
