Thoughts on New Moon (the book)

There are many reasons to enjoy reading New Moon. We get to really know Jacob, and we witness Bella mature into a smart young woman. However, for a lot of readers, New Moon is the saddest and most heartbreaking book of the series. It was hard for me to get through the book the first time I read it, but after reading it a second time, I understood that it was necessary for Bella to go through this heartbreak and this part of life in order to maker her the woman she becomes in Breaking Dawn. There are a lot of quotes and events in the beginning of New Moon that foreshadow what is going to happen on that September 16th day; only 3 days after Bella’s 18th birthday. I agree with you 100% New Moon was for me the saddest of the four( granted I am just starting Breaking Dawn) I felt as you do that Bella had to go through the heartache of being without Edward, she grew in other ways really finding in herself that she could not live without Edward by her side and would do anything for him as he would for her. New Moon brought tears to my eyes and Eclipse brought them to my eyes again. I cannot wait to start on Breaking Dawn. Yeah I think every girl cried when the ring went on her finger for real.

New Moon is probably the most heartbreaking book I have ever read. The language that Stephanie Myers used was absolutely amazing. It had me wanting to read it over and over again. It showed exactly the length Bella would go to, to save her lover. It would have been amazing to hear edwards perspective on that book. Not only did it start the relationship between Bella and Jacob but it also sparked a twisted relationship between Edward and Jacob.
