Growing 24 percent and climbing to second place, Twilight finally saw an opening in the same league as its U.S. debut. In Germany, the vampire romance led with a remarkable $7.2 million, which was bigger than past action hits 300 and War of the Worlds, better than comedy hits American Wedding and Meet the Fockers and more than five times the size of all the Underworld pictures. Elsewhere, Twilight remained No. 1 in France, earning $9.8 million in two weeks, and opened in first place in Austria with $573,617. Overall, it made $15.6 million over the weekend from 40 markets for a $139.7 million tally.Domestic: $186,027,660

The Twilight movie reminds me of the energizer bunny - keeps going, and going and going….What sweet validation to all the naysayers/haters. Twilight keeps opening at #1. What do you think about how well Twilight has done not only in the US but in other countries as well?

This is great. I’m glad I was wrong on my prediction that Twilight would make around 250 million - YAY! I’ve never been so happy to be wrong in all my life! It’s done way better oversees than I thought it would. As they say, success is the best revenge. All those naysayers must eat their words!

Yeah, all has been quiet on the Twilight front but the movie is still scorching up the popularity scale. Thats a TON of money. Thats good because Eclipse is going to need it! I cant wait to see how much it takes in when the DVD comes out.

ppl say that Twilight is just a phase that after about a week of it, people will get sick of it. well this is just proof that Twilight is not just a phase. sure its not as awesome as the book but everybody already knows that and we kinda accept it, but we still love it. well i do anyways :]]
Yep; I had no idea that it would get this successful, but I am so happy it is! I was like wow; and I agree with Logan, all my frends were getting sick of me going on about twilight and they were like “its just a phase; it wont be long before everyone hates it”. well I’m like, ecstatic they were wrong. xD
i just hope new moon can live up to or outgrow the phenomenon that twilight started. cant wait!
I have done my part by going twice and I think for a true Twilighter that is the very least we can do lol! Plus, the second time around was even better!

Hale, yeah! I’ll bet the Summit Ent. CEOs are basking in the glory of the Twilighters-at-large NOW!!! And they were worried about having enough money to make a sequel… CHYEAH, riiiiiight!!! I sure hope that they WILL film Eclipse back-to-back with New Moon… We’d have another movie to go see very soon thereafter! Aaaahh.. I love the Twilight series.
