Stephenie Meyer Comments on Robert Pattinson and the Birth Scene in New ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ DVD Extra

Posted February 3rd, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

MTV has yet another little sneak peek at the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 DVD extras, this time a behind-the-scenes look at the huge birth scene. Here we get Stephenie Meyer’s thoughts on what she thought of the emotions in the scene, and especially on how Robert Pattinson acted the scene out. Check it all out below:

*EDIT* – Go to the MTV link to watch as they’re having trouble with their embed code.

“He was really able to touch the human emotions of that scene. Rob really nailed it,” Stephenie recalled. “It was really powerful. I teared up, several people near me did. It was just a lump in your throat—that moment of thinking you’ve lost everything and not being able to accept it. It was really emotional.”

Yet, as fraught as that life-or-death moment was, we can’t help but smile at the quick shot of director Bill Condon fist-pumping when Rob nailed it. Very sweet.

Collider is Looking for a ‘Twilight’ Superfan to Review the ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ DVD

Posted February 2nd, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Collider is looking for the ultimate Twilight Superfan to review the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 DVD for them. All you need to do is send them an email and provide some examples of your writing. Be sure to hurry, a fan will be picked on Monday, February 6th. Get more details below:

While we have a lot of great writers on Collider, I’ve decided to locate a Twilight super fan to review our copy of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 on Blu-ray. I’m not looking for someone who thinks it’s the greatest movie ever made, and I’m not looking for someone who hates it either. I’m trying to find someone who loves the books and the films and can do an objective review while also writing about all the special features, commentaries, and the extra things on the Blu-ray. If you think you’ve got what it takes, hit the jump:

Here’s the deal. I’m not going to mail you our only review copy just because you tell me you’d be good for the job.

Instead, if you’d like to review it, please email me at thecollidermailbox@gmail.com with the headline TWILIGHT BREAKING DAWN SUPER FAN. I’d also like you to provide links to your writing online, or examples of your writing in the body of the email. And I don’t mean a few sentences. I’m looking for enough examples that prove you are the right person for the job. Keep in mind, I’ll probably get a number of people asking for this, so you’ve got to sell me on why you’re the right person.

Posted February 2nd, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

PopSugar has even more Breaking Dawn – Part 1 excitement with another sneak peek at the DVD special features. This feature focuses on Taylor Lautner as Jacob, and the different elements he brought to the movie. Enjoy the clip below!

Breaking Dawn Part 1 is finally coming out on DVD, just in time for Valentine’s Day! We’re so excited to see all the behind the scenes extras that come along with the release, including this hot look inside the development of Jacob Black’s character. Beyond the shirtless eye candy, Taylor Lautner tackled his most emotionally complex scenes in Breaking Dawn, and also brought a bit of comedic relief amid the heavy film. We’re looking forward to even more of that as we see his relationship with Renesmee develop in Breaking Dawn Part 2 next November. While that may feel far away now, we have Breaking Dawn Part 1 to tide us over until then — check out this exclusive clip and buy Breaking Dawn when it comes out midnight on Feb. 11.

Sneak Peek at Bloopers from ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ DVD

Posted February 2nd, 2012 By: Evie 1 Comment »

Moviefone is giving us a little sneak peek at some of the bloopers that you’ll find on your special edition DVD or Blu-ray for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Enjoy the bloopers below!

The drama in “Breaking Dawn Part 1″ reaches its peak when Bella Swan gives bloody birth to her vampire-baby with Edward and Jacob taking turns trying to save her life, but don’t think filming that key scene was some dour operation. In this exclusive DVD/Blu-ray blooper, Bella, Edward and Jacob — better known as Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner — can’t keep a straight face during even the most dramatic moments.

“It ended up working,” Launter said about filming the scene — which included Jacob giving Bella CPR — “but it was funny in moments.” Indeed! Watch the clip above and make sure to get your hands on the “Breaking Dawn Part 1″ DVD/Blu-ray when it gets released on Feb. 11.

See the story at Moviefone here.

Thanks Noor!

Chaske Spencer Wanted to Make Sam More Human in ‘Breaking Dawn’

Posted January 29th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Blast has a fantastic new story on the first leader of the wolf pack, Chaske Spencer. Here Chaske talks about how much he felt Twilighters hated his character in the books, and how he tried to make him more human in the Twilight Saga films. Read more below:

More than anything, Chaske Spencer just wants to keep it real.

This may seem strange coming from the man who just wrapped up a multi-film stint in the massively successful fantasy-laden Twilight series, but a brief conversation with him makes this all too clear.

Take, for example, his perspective on his Twilight character, werewolf pack leader Sam Uley. While he appreciates many things about his animalistic alter-ego, not the least of which are his CGI antics played out on the big screen – “I never thought I would see myself jump off a cliff. I mean it was amazing!” he says – what he most hopes fans will take away from the most recent installments is that which makes the character most relatable – most human.

“What I got from talking to the kids, the fans of Twilight, is that a lot of them just hated Sam. A lot of them did not like Sam,” he recalls with a laugh. “So what I want to do is make him more human, more a character that you can relate to. In the Breaking Dawn film you get this sense that, in the script, he’s out to just kill Renesmee and he hates Bella, but that’s not the case. It’s just that it’s a job that he has to do.”

‘Cosmopolis’ Tops ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ in MTV’s Movie Brawl

Posted January 29th, 2012 By: Evie 2 Comments »

Well despite Twilighters best efforts, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 did not make it to the end of MTV’s Movie Brawl. But thankfully, a cast member’s movie, Robert Pattinson’s Cosmopolis, ran away with the prize. Check it all out below:

Over the course of the “Twilight Saga” movies, we at MTV News have come a long way in understanding the franchise’s very passionate fanbase. So when we launched the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, I thought there was a very good chance “Twilight” fans would vote “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ through to the championship round and into the championship slot, no problem.

I was wrong. “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ was ousted early, in the second round, by eventual champ “Cosmopolis.” Yes, the two films share a very popular star in Robert Pattinson, but compared with the millions upon millions of “Twilight” fans who have read all of Stephenie Meyer’s books, we’re guessing not as many are familiar with “Cosmopolis” through its source material by Don DeLillo.

So here’s what I think: All of you wonderfully dedicated Pattinson fans are in it for the long haul. You’re choosing to grow and evolve right along with Pattinson and the ebbs and flows of his chosen profession.
