Jackson Rathbone is Excited for a “Family Reunion” in ‘Breaking Dawn’

Posted June 10th, 2010 By: Evie 2 Comments »

MTV has even more from their interview with Jackson Rathbone while he was in LA for the MTV Movie Awards last weekend. In this clip Jackson talks about exactly all he doesn’t know about filming Breaking Dawn while at the same time admitting he is excited for the Cullen family to be back together again. Check out more below:

“I have not spoken to ["Eclipse" director] Bill Condon yet, but I’m excited to,” Rathbone told MTV News last week, when he was in Los Angeles for the MTV Movie Awards. “He’s an incredible director, [an] Academy Award winner. That’s amazing, so it’s just another awesome director to handle the ‘Twilight’ franchise.

“['Twilight' director] Catherine Hardwicke brought a very independent feel. ['New Moon' director] Chris Weitz kind of made it a little more beautiful and elegant and ['Eclipse' director] David Slade’s going a little darker… so I’m excited to see what Bill Condon does,” Rathbone continued. “I really have no idea. I haven’t even seen a script for ‘Breaking Dawn’ yet, to be honest. I’m right there with you, still waiting.”

Rathbone admitted that he didn’t quite know the timetable for shooting “Breaking Dawn,” either. “I don’t! I could lie though! I will lie to you,” the “The Last Airbender” star teased. He then made up this scenario: “We’re filming it tomorrow, all of it in one day. We’re just gonna drink a lot of Red Bulls and we’re gonna have a green screen and go through it; no script even. We’re gonna make it up. You know what? We’re gonna try for all tomorrow.”

Many of the elements of “Breaking Dawn” are still unknown, but Rathbone is certain of one thing: He’s happy that the whole cast is reuniting. “I just wanted the family to be together,” he said. “We grew up [together]. Every time we get to film with one another, it’s like a family reunion.”

MTV Movie Awards 2010 Red Carpet Interview: Kiowa Gordon Talks About Touché, Sings for TA, and Reveals Breaking Dawn Will Start Filming This Year!

Posted June 10th, 2010 By: Jacob Black 2 Comments »

mtv movie awards 2010 logoAs celebrities and fellow cast members make it down the MTV Movie Awards 2010 red carpet, Kiowa Gordon, who plays Embry Call in the Twilight Saga Eclipse, stops by to hang out with our reporter (Jenn) to chat up a bit.

Looking quite sharp on the red carpet, Kiowa shares his excitement about being at the awards and is confident that New Moon will what it deserves (and it does! Go here to find the winners). He’s also been quite busy with his band and shares with us his latest project, “Into the Darkness“.

TA: So do you have anything upcoming right now, any projects?

In August 17th, the movie called, “Into the Darkness“, in middle Tennessee. It’s a psychological thriller about these friends who are coming home from college after a year apart. They’re having a party out in the woods for our buddy’s birthday and we discover a cave. And so we’re avid cavers so we jump in there all just gung-ho and ready to see what’s in there. Then we start losing our friends and we’re getting scared. Our batteries are running out of our flashlights so we’re running out of time and we need to find them and we need to get out of there before the darkness covers everything.

TA: So do you survive?

That’s a secret and there’s going to be a great twist on it. Everybody HAS to watch this!

TA: So are you looking forward to the awards tonight?

CafePress has millions of personalized gifts for all topics, hobbies, and brands such as Twilight T-shirts!

TA: Are you looking forward to Breaking Dawn?

Oh yeah, can’t wait for that one. That one’s going to be so great.

TA: Do you have any idea when that’s going to start filming?

Before the year’s over. Definitely.

TA: So is there anything else you’re interested in telling us?

I’m in a band, I sing. Touché.

TA: Can you sing something for us?

How can I? This song is called “You can find girls like that in the gutter” by Touché. We’re metal progressive, starts out with some crazy guitars and drums. (Then he sings for us right on the red carpet!) “…you said forever, an anthem to a cure. A plot to conspire! A place to adore!” And then it goes crazy and crazier.

I’ve seen some of their practice videos on youtube but I couldn’t really tell his vocal talents apart from the instruments so I’m quite glad he granted us this little singing number. He sounds really good and has a strong, raspy but sharp voice that I’m sure will resonate with many girls.

Hope you enjoyed the interview and stay tuned! We have more interviews coming your way from our MTV Movie Awards Coverage

Previously Interviewed on the MTV Movie Awards 2010 Red Carpet:
- Alex Meraz
- Chaske Spencer
- Elizabeth Reaser

TA’ers: What did you think of this interview? Was it a nice surprise to hear him sing? Have you heard their other songs? What do you think about Breaking Dawn to start filming this year?

Ashley Greene Says She Wants ‘Breaking Dawn’ to Be 2 Films, Has Not Yet Met Bill Condon

Posted June 4th, 2010 By: Team Switzerland No Comments »

Ted Casablanca over at E! News had a chance to catch up with the lovely Ashley Greene yesterday at Kari Feinstein’s MTV Movie Awards Style Lounge at the Montage Beverly Hills, and during their chat she spilled a few things about Breaking Dawn including how she (and many of her cast members) would prefer the story be broken up into two films, and how she is excited to meet and work with director Bill Condon.

“I think everyone wants to split it in two, just because it’s such a huge story, and we want to kind of actually capture everything and keep everyone happy,” Ash dished, rather matter-of-factly. “But who knows. It’s kind of up to the writers and everyone to see what’s best, but I’m hoping for two.”

Another reason Ash is pumped to get rolling on the final film or films: Academy Award-winning director Bill Condon, who she has yet to meet with to discuss B.D.

“I’m sure I will [meet him] in the near future. I’m really excited to work with him.”

Chris Weitz Gives His Thoughts on ‘Breaking Dawn’

Posted June 3rd, 2010 By: Evie No Comments »

MTV recently caught up with New Moon Director, Chris Weitz. Chris gave his opinions on Breaking Dawn, joking how he would pay to see Kristen Stewart give birth through her stomach in 3-D to expressing his gratitude for all the love that he’s gotten from the cast and fans. Check out more below:

The “Twilight” gang loves Chris Weitz. There’s no doubting that. In the run-up to the release of the Weitz-helmed “New Moon,” Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner spoke effusively about working with the director, even hoping he might reprise his role behind the camera for “Breaking Dawn.”

Weitz ended up declining the opportunity to bring the final book in the vampire series to the big screen, but he remains flattered that the cast supports him and even has a bit of advice for “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon (“Dreamgirls”).

“That’s very sweet,” Weitz told MTV News when reminded of how the cast has championed him. “I think that’s because I was the last person who directed them.”

Weitz, who led “New Moon” to more than $700 million in worldwide box-office receipts, is confident that Condon is the right man to step into the director’s chair for “Breaking Dawn.” “I think he’s terribly talented,” Weitz said. “I know him, he’s a solid citizen, great guy, very smart. I think he’s going to do an amazing job.”

His one piece of advice? “Think carefully about babies clawing out of people’s stomachs,” Weitz said in reference to one scene in the book, going on to refer to an even more famous scene in 1979′s “Alien.” “[Director] Ridley Scott sort of did it.”

Weitz added with a laugh, “Kristen Stewart giving live birth through the stomach in 3-D! I’m there. I’m paying.”

And he’d be happy to pay for not just one film, but two. It has long been rumored that “Breaking Dawn” will be split into two flicks. That’s a move Weitz endorses.

“The book is big enough that it would warrant it,” he said.
