ok… they are using their budget to pay famous actors NOOOOO… i dont want any other actor getting more attention that the original cast hahaha…. USE THAT MONEY FOR THE SPECIAL EFFECTS.

This casting idea really comes out of left field as far as my thinking….I never saw it coming!

I like America but I don’t think I want to see her in NM. I really would like them to stay w/the formula of casting unkowns like they did w/Twilight.

You know, this doesn’t bother me. I’m not a fan of bringing big names into this project overall, I liked the feel of the first movie, and I think part of it was the actors were not household names…I wasn’t watching Hannah Montana play a part…because as an adult, i know who Miley Cyrus is, but I really only see her as HM. (Does that make sense? Kinda like watching Tom Cruise movies…his personal life with all the craziness makes it hard to lose myself in his character, I can only see Tom onscreen, not whoever he is portraying.)But America doesn’t come across as your typical vain, shallow starlet, and she seems pretty versatile, so I think she’d be ok.

i really don’t like the direction they are going with this movie. bringing in “names” to the roles. one of the major pluses of twilight was that the actors weren’t well known, so you could easily believe them as the character. it seems like new moon is being turned into just another hollywood movie. my enthusiasm for the new movie is rapidly decreasing with each new cast announcement

America Ferrerra is NOT a good choice. But I don’t get how you audition, there is no articles on auditioning. I WANT TO!!!!!!!!

America is so talented; I have no doubts (and she’s gorgeous- Ugly Betty couldn’t be more ironic). But if she’s cast as Emily’s smaller role and HSM’s Vanessa gets a larger part, I have to admit, I’ll be disappointed. Unless Vanessa has some acting chops (or perhaps if Emily somehow were more prominent) that haven’t been demonstrated yet…and she manages to look like a Native American…and her voice doesn’t sound like she’s a young girl on Disney Channel…who knows? But I would hate to see the integrity of the characters lost to Hollywood and bad acting. But who am I to judge?

I think she could do the part justice, but I prefer the idea of unknowns for the look-feel of the movie. Plus the price tag that would come with known actors. UNLESS Summit will up how much they are willing to pay for NM. I do like the fact that America is soo into the books. That helps. But I don’t want them to take from the overall greatness that NM deserves just for a name. If they keep with these big name ideas it makes one wonder if Summit is to much into the –to take KS word– ‘machine’ that Twilight could become verses the Twilight cultness that we all love about it.

Yeah, I kind of not liking the idea of so many well-known actor/actresses starring in the upcoming New Moon. I think people pay more attention to the movie if the people are not as famous.

America Young is cute but she is NOT Emily. Emily is beautiful and America is just cute.

I think America Young for the part of Emily and not America Ferrera. I mean I like America Ferrera but I dont see her playing the part. Plus she looks more hispanic and I think the Native Americans who are watching the movie New Moon would be upset since it is supposed to be a Native American woman playing the part. Well I dont know if America Young is Native American but she looks like it to be one.

Plus, these are not the only people being considered for the role. These are just the known names that have been put out there to keep the buzz going. There are tons of girls being auditioned and i hope they choose the right girl because these 2 are not Emily.

I think America Young’s people put the America Ferrera story out there to get America young’s name out there. I hate that. If they pick you for your talent fine but not because you did some dumb publicity stunt to get your name out there.

I doubt that her “people” did anything of the sort and some blogger just screwed the last names up. That is far more likely.
Regardless, I have been a fan of America Young for a while, I think she would be perfect as Emily! Perfect!

I have no idea why they keep zooming in on well known actors. It’s boring me and I figure they should focus more on the story than the actors. My bit is said…America Ferrera is a huge no…I’ve never heard of America Young, but she is very pretty and can pull it off. Though I see her more like Leah…but that’s just me.

Oh, for the love of all that’s holy, do I have to say it again. The additional people being cast for New Moon need to be unknown or virtually unknown actors in order for the movie to be more believable. People like Dakota Fanning and America Ferrera are well known for mainstream movies and TV work. I don’t want to see them on screen in New Moon and be reminded of other movies. I have, however, never heard of America Young. I googled her, and didn’t think she was very pretty, but make up could take care of that. I’m not sold on her, but at least she is not well known.

Actually, I prefer America Young. She’s prettier than Ferrera and is a little known actress, this could be her big break where Ferrera has already enjoyed it as “Ugly Betty”. Young is a lot more Native American looking too me thinks…

There are many mixed opinions on here, and I’m on the America Ferrara side. I think she’d do a fantastic job as Emily. I would like to see her in the larger role as Leah, but either way I think she’d bring a lot to the role.

America Ferrera is one of my favorite actresses, but I really don’t think that she should be Emily. Emily is Native, and I really think that a Native Actress should play her.

I have to say that America Young would be perfect. She’s not beautiful, but they can’t have super pretty “normal” people because the vampires and werewolves have to look superhumanly hott, and let’s face it, all the actors are only human.

I actually would like to see them cast real Native Americans for characters such as these. They could put the money to the special effects rather than spending on big Hollywood names.

I think that America Ferrera could be a good Emily if she wasn’t so curvy. I’m not sure where I’ve seen America Young before, but she looks the way I see Emily(In my mind anyway). Besides, she also looks as though she may be somewhat Native American and not so much Latina.

Look, America Fererra is an experienced actor. Shes in it for the right reasons too. She said she red the books so obviously she knows the part of Emily Young and wants the part not cause twilight is so huge but because she loves the books.
I think America all the way. I would rather have her then some skinny 100 lb. twit who only wants in because of how huge this movie and the books are. And she has a wide range of different movies and shows. Im rooting for America. =]

I like her, I think she’s an amazing actress and can strive at no matter what part she plays. If for some retarded reason they don’t cast her as Emily, I would at least like to see her as Carmen from Tanya’s coven (If they make breaking dawn into a movie!) She’s an amazing actress, we all just need to give her a chance… She’s passionate about the part, she doesn’t just want the fame (She already has fame). I’m sure she’ll do great!!

Twilight has truly become a hot mess. They seem hell-bent on casting destruction. Whether its America Young or America Ferrara, neither one of them is right for Leah and certainly not Emily. Q’Orianka Kilcher would make a great Emily and Keisha Castle-Huges could do nicely as Leah. Twilighter, I truly wish you well with your audition. It would be nice to have an actual Native American play one verusu just supposedly looking like one.

I’m really angry about them wanting to use America Ferrara as a Native American character.Shes mexican .I’m a 15 year old Native American and I think that I could play that character perfectly.I find it very racist ,it’s basically saying that they can’t find a real native person thats good enough to act the part ,its very embarassing to our culture and we need as many natives as we can for these parts.I dream to become a great native american actress when I grow up.
