CELEBUZZ.COM posted a new article about Rob (Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie) being a snob to the press and fans:

 
Robert Pattinson, star of the upcoming Twilight and beloved fan favorite, may not be as unfazed by Hollywood as he’s made himself out to be.
Robert, who has always played himself off as the humble, modest type—claiming to be over-chatty, shy with girls, and even the dive-bar type—has lately been revealing a more arrogant side to his personality that has clearly been jaded by Tinseltown.

Celebuzz has received word that during two of Robert’s most recent public appearances, everybody’s favorite vampire was acting just a tad too Hollywood.

According to a red carpet witness at the Sex Drive premiere, the once press-friendly actor was the last to arrive and refused to speak to any members of the press.

“I was yelling for him to come over, and he just acted like he couldn’t hear when he obviously could,” the source explained. “Then he got off the carpet to dawdle for a while before the movie started.”

At the T-Mobile party, Robert even went so far as to turn away fans requesting a quick photo-op.

According to the fan, Robert explained that he didn’t do pictures and that they weren’t really his thing.

Ouch.

Has Robert turned into the typical Hollywood snob before his film has even hit theaters?

This is the first time I’ve heard of any bad behavior on Rob’s part. I’m sure he gets sick of the constant tugging for photos and autographs.
On the other side of the coin, it goes with the territory. I can’t judge him, I don’t know the man. I hope it’s not true because Twilight hasn’t even come out yet, and those fans deserve their fair share. What do you think? Is Rob getting too big for his britches?

    I agree, leave the boy alone. It gets kind of annoying with all the press, we wouldn’t know because we don’t live in that life, but can you even imagine for a second what the must be like? To not even be able to walk outside with press constantly in you face? I agree as well that it comes with the territory, but come on, I’ve never heard any bad behavior from his part. I know that he talked to a lot of fans, took pictures as well at the sex drive premiere, and also generous at the Austin Film Festival. I also think that eventually that people will start talking crap, tabloids, celeb buzz as well, they’re probably just fetching a new story, as I’m sure that this is the case.

    I can totally appreciate how he feels… like a piece of meat that everyone’s trying to get at! You just have to see any of the footage of him being stalked by the paparazzi and you can’t help but feel sorry for the guy. That’s not even including the countless numbers of people who would approach him daily.

    If everyone took a step back, they would probably find that he’d be a bit more accomodating. Although, if you are at a premiere, he should be prepared to do a bit extra for the publicity. But I have read in numerous articles that he is perpetually late to things.

    Come on guys, let’s support him, not smother him!

    I think if i was rob, i would proberbly want to get away from the screaming fans for a while.

    Maybe he wasn’t feeling up to it.

    I agree. Leave him alone. That’s why stars like NYC. People are grown up enough to enjoy the movies and really appreciate the actors by leaving them alone to have a life. Hollywood wants him to act hollywood, how degrading. He was never hollywood to begin with.

    Mabey this person was bugging him, shouting and hollaring. I dont beilieve for a second that Rob is a snob. Hey that rhymed, lol. He is so easy going, funny and adaorable, quite the oppisite of snobbish! I think this person was probablly bugging him to no end. A plethera of things could have provoked his attitude. Id hate to be shouted all the time while I grocery shopped or ate dinner with a freind. Poor guy! Leave him alone!

    I’ll would have to agree and disagree. He has been making himself a hollywood snob. He knew what he was in for, so there is no reason to take it on everybody else. I’m not an active hollywood star but I bet it is hard to be one with the press following you everywhere. People commenting on every single detail, I bet it gets annoying. Main point is that he shouldn’t let what people are doing around him influence him. Being your own person is better than being someone you are not.

    I don’t get why some people thought that Kristen was bitchy in the GQ quote thing, but ppl still bashed her. Rob, on the other hand, is getting defended…. i dont get it?

    omg !!! i agree too . leave him alone why should he want to be surrounded by annoyning flashes and stocker press ?? nobodys perfectt . hes probably just sick and tired of it all and wants a break for once !!!

    ha ! that poor guy ! he already has to deal with all the twilight press and all of us overly-obsessed fanatics ! i didnt really think that fan pictures were ever his “thing” .. you really dont see too many . the press is nasty and cruel . they take things that tired actors say , and twist it all into things like “IS ROBERT PATTINSON SNOBBY ?” its horrible ! pshh ! i would have been really mean if i had to deal with all of the publicity he is right now . if he decides not to take pictures , then GET OVER IT ! i love you Rob !

    Maybe it was an off moment for him, but that doesn’t mean he’s a snob. He’s a star, but he is a person. From what I’ve heart from other people who met him, he is one of the sweetest and generous guys around. The press and the media have to respect his space…it goes both ways.

    Dude, if you go to the source and read the comments on the article there, every single one defends Rob and almost all of them say what a bad article it is- the facts are completely wrong, etc.- and they all have really good information to back up what they say (unlike the article). They also talk about how CeleBuzz just posted this b/c they didnt have anything better to write about and they knew if they wrote something about Rob, they were sure to get lots of traffic, especially if they wrote something bad b/c everyone would visit to defend him.

    So, I’d just like to say, I agree 100% w/these comments! They all say what I feel better than I could say it myself. And ppl really need to get a grip and leave Rob alone, not try to start completely empty rumors just to get their own publicity. EVERY SINGLE account from ANYONE (whether a fan or an interviewer or whatever) who has ever met him talks about how INCREDIBLY down-to-earth, modest, shy, etc. Rob is, even moreso than, like, most normal ppl, let alone most Hollywood actors, so I really don’t see where this article gets off of making such an incredibly far-fetched statement. Poor Rob! No matter WHAT he does, ppl find something wrong w/it- and in this case I don’t even think he did anything at all- this seems to be made up out of thin air.
    My opinion of CeleBuzz just went WAY down :( .

    I’m just gonna go ahead and say what everyone else said just because I’m angry with this ridiculous article. I completely agree with the fact that they just made that article so they’d get more views on their site and I don’t understand, it’s like he declines a couple of interviews and pictures and suddenly he’s a snob? That doesn’t make any sense, at all. These people are just making him seem like a bad person because he probably doesn’t enjoy a million people in his face every single second of every single day. I mean if I were him I’d get sick of it too and people should be thankful that he doesn’t flat out say ‘No I’m not going to take a picture with you’ I mean no one would actually do that but at least he’s nice enough to decline politely. I’m not saying I understand what that feels like but I can imagine that being bombarded by thousands of fans every week isn’t exactly too much fun and based on the articles and videos of him at other public events he seems extremely humble and polite. At the ‘How To Be’ screening in Austin he absolutely insisted that he sign autographs outside of the theatre because he said that some of his fans waited 8 hours and that it was the least he could do. Honestly, this article is complete BS.

    Not true. He is not a Hollywood snob. He went to the Austin Film Festival for a movie showing thing of ‘How to Be Art’ and he came 15 minutes after the movie started. He was supposed to come at the very end. He waited outside with a table and signed autographs for like an hour and a half, and he answered 45 minutes of questions from fans. This was all AFTER the Sex Drive premiere.

    Yeah seriously i agree wtih everyone. He isnt prefect and he isnt from here, he is getting used to the up in the face action. I think he is sweet just the way he carrys himself out.
    He had an off night. dont judge him because of something so stupid.
    Leave Robert alone. He is so cute and charming, stop trying to get dirt on him. You aint going to find anythign better then this, go get a life and bother someone else.

    Well, this kind of articles and comments are meant to happen guys, it was just a matter of time! It is part of the deal when you become a public figure. It SUCKS, but unfortunately it comes with the territory. People put you up on a pedestal and then they bring you down. You need to have a very special personality to be able to handle that. Hopefully, Rob will be able to work his way through all this craziness and stay focused.

    Wish we could use Bella’s shield and protect him from all the media harm! ;)

    good god. he doesn’t want to talk to the press..thousands of girls asks him for fotos and autographs..there comes a time..when its just too much and too often..even if he’s a snob..he’s an english snob..and to me..that is exceptable..hahahahaha

    I agree with everybody here. I saw him at ComicCon and he was so down to earth and SHY, it was funny. He seems completely amazed at his popularity and even a little embarrassed at times. SAME WITH KRISTEN. These media rags just aren’t happy unless they try to bring someone down to their level. I’m sure it would be hard for anyone to deal with all the publicity that has been thrust at all of the cast. Even happy-go-lucky Kellan Lutz is starting to look warn out from all of it. We just need to continue to show our support of all of them and remember that many of them are new to this famedom.

    Personally, I don’t know the guy. But from what I’ve seen of his regular behavior, he must have been having a bad day. If you saw the pictures and heard the stories from the Austin Texas ‘How To Be’ showing, he was the same guy we hear about.
    Besides, he’s just as average as we are. He just happens to be famous. And famous people have bad days, too. Just like us Regular Joes.

    I agree to leave him alone. He didn’t ask for all this attention. Twilight was suppose to be an Indie type film. Kristen even said she really only does Indie’s . I’m sure they appreciate the recognition, but harassment is something entirely different.

    sad to say, but i agree with the article. I myself have written an entry on my Live Journal about it. I love Rob, and I love Edward, but I too believe that Rob has become to Hollywood, and I don’t think he realizes it..

    i’ve talked to plenty of people who have met him, and said he is one of the nicest guys ever.
    I’d hardly call not posing for a photo snobby + who LIKES doing press?
    leave the guy alone.

    I feel bad for anyone (like Rob) that has to be in his position. It would make me so uncomfortable to have strangers walking up and pawing at me and wanting pictures all the time. I dont blame him for occasionally being unhappy about it! It would drive me nuts!

    mmm…. either he is shy or tired (already??) being famous or just too young to accept the fact that press is part of his job and career!

    I listened the press conference he has with almost all the crew and was not impressed by his answers. I thought he was very young, a bit immature and shy and was not at all prepared to say smart answers.

    But I must say that I was not impressed by Kristen/Bella either… Even James was kind of duh.

    They all seemed confused of the teens screaming at them, asking stupid questions such what kind of underwear (DUHHHHH) etc.

    I was not impressed by anyone.

    The only one who looked smart was Victoria.

    So lets say that if in a conference like this, they looked very teens to me… I am not surprised that Robert P. had a stupid attitude.

    Okay… he was “maybe” tired … but lets face it: he is not famous, the movie is not even on theaters and if he wants to be a professional actor, then he should act like a professional actor

    Now… I give him some credits that most paparazzi are jerk and as a matter of fact, I would NEVER be able to behave like an adult myself! LOL

    Maybe he just had a bad day. So far I’ve only heard good things about him treating his fans! There are a ton of photos online from that very premiere (and there are actually some where he is smiling and laughing) – so who knows what happened. Maybe the guy who wrote the story is mad because he didn’t get a good shot.

    After reading all of the positive mature comments, I’m wondering who are these screaming pestering fans that show up demanding photos? They’re certainly not here. I read a lot of stuff about the Entertainment Industry because I’m fascinated by it all and it always surprises me when I hear someone complain about an actor or actress not stop to give an autograph or photo. Why would you expect them to stop what they’re doing in their personal lives to sign their name or take a photo with your ________(fill in the blank)? So I always respond with “Would you be willing to stop whatever you’re doing on your personal time no matter what and sign an autograph or pose for a photograph?” And the press? Ick! They’re just vultures, especially Papparazzi – anybody else see that segment on either 20/20 or Dateline (I forget which) about how they’ll do anything to get a picture of any actor/actress in a compromising situation. It was sick, I was actually nauseated after watching it. People forget that Actors and Actresses are men and women just like us. What they do is a job and they’re paid well for it and with that comes Great priviledge and great responsibility(ew! that sounded like the quote from Spidey 1 – sorry). I used to think it would be great to be an actress but you lose your identity.

    Recently,
    he’s been almost jerkish to fans and the press, like tha article says.

    But, i belive he’s acting this way because of us. the fans.

    i’ve seen hundreds of videos of him on youtube-when he’s on his BREAK!

    i eblive he’s just anoyed of all the “stalkers” he’s been getting

    well, he signed up for this, so he should follow through.

    that’s my opinion.

    Just watched the e! New Moon red carpet premeire. He and Kristen always seem kinda stoned to me..and yes, snooty. I wonder if they aren’t just really, really consumed with thier interpretation of Bella and Edward. Except that I think Edward would articulate better, they are both extremely true to character.
