COLLIDER: KRISTEN STEWART TALKS ‘NEW MOON’ AND ADDRESSES THE ‘NYLON’ INTERVIEW

Posted March 5th, 2009 By: Evie 13 Comments »

Collider.com has a brand new interview with Kristen Stewart where she talks about ‘New Moon’, and addresses those rumors that have been circulating since her recent ‘Nylon’ interview:

On the ‘Nylon’ interview:

When asked what she thought about the bad press she’s been getting in the wake of her Nylon interview, Stewart is adamant that her words are being taken out of context—professing, believably might I add—to having nothing but the utmost respect and care for the Twilight story and situation as a whole. “I love the Twilight fans. I have literally never said anything remotely negative about them,” she told us.

So all the hullaballoo? She attributed that to learning the ropes about what is going to read in print and what isn’t. “You have to stay away from certain key words that can be twisted in a negative connotation. Like the word ‘psychotic’ apparently is really bad,” she said, provoking laughter around the table.

On the upcoming filming for ‘New Moon’:

“Edward’s gone and for me that was the whole story. It’s hard for me to get past—I don’t know how Bella’s going to deal with that. She matures. A lot. And it’s a much more painful story than the first one.

I’m glad to hear Kristen really does love the Twilight world. It is refreshing to hear her point of view directly, especially after the last couple of weeks. Kristen sounds excited to start ‘New Moon’, I can’t wait to see her in it, she sounds ready to take on the heaviness that surrounds Bella’s character.

What do you think of this article on Kristen? Do you feel differently about her after reading this? What do you think of Kristen’s thoughts on New Moon?

This actually makes me feel much better after reading all the negativity. I suspected it was taken out of context though. Glad to know she feels this way!!!

    Hallelujah!
I still don’t think she’s a very good Bella, but I’m thrilled to have this cleaned up!

  • Kris

I guess she’s learned how to take her foot out of her mouth…

i already knew this about her–just had a feeling she was being unfairly judged. hopefully people start easing up on kristen and the assumptions around her every move and word.

Yeah, once I read the entire interview, I realized it was taken way out of context. Not that it matters at all, but I wonder if her dad’s quote at the Oscars was also taken out of context. I’d like to hear her address that to clear it all up.

see… everything she has said has been taken out of context but i’m glad she did this interview so people can see that she does like twilight and appreciates it.

Great article. I hope that more people from a certain blog will come across it and stop badmouthing her, but I’m affraid other quotes completely out of context from old interviews will come to bite her… now that it’s Kristen bashing open season! (I meant hunting season, not sure how to phrase it).

I would also love to hear something about her dad’s comment, but I can understand if she doesn’t want to cross him either. He is her dad, however “stupid” he might be.

AnnaS. DITTO!!! After reading this article, I feel a bit better. I think I just might quit going on Perez Hilton since he seems to be the main person who is taking all of her interviews out of context!!! Give it a rest Perez, R Pattz will never want you!!!!

I truly believe that Kristen cares about Twilight. I believe she mentioned in an interview at a Border’s interview that she never did a love story before. She said, “I never did a love story before, I’m glad I was given the opportunity to do it or I would of never did it”. “And I’m glad I did it”. She should give a great performance as Bella in New Moon.

You know, Kristen doesn’t seem like one of those kind of actors who spout off their opinions to the media for attention. I think we can all agree that she seems like the opposite. However, she does interviews b/c that is her job. She has no control over the questions she receives and the way that it will be printed. Every time she gets a question about the Twilight fandom (and face it, the media is fascinated by it b/c they get the ratings or sells or hits when they mention Twilight so they ask ALL the stars about it) it seems like she is probably thinking about all the fan events that she’s gone to–and everyone of them she sees screaming fangirls—and don’t deny that they aren’t there. She just says words like “crazy” “retarded” and “psychotic” b/c for girls to be screaming at her (and they do b/c she has to stand next to Rob) it probably freaks her out.
Her personality seems like she is scared to sound like a stupid teen actress and be typecast that way. She’s been able to stay away from that, but now that she has all this media attention, and they calling it a teen phenomenon, she’s worried about coming off fake and ditzy. So she tries to tell how she really feels and I think it often is interpreted as if she thinks she’s above it. JMO

WONDERFUL…. this is good news…. now Lets move onto the Movie..NOw i hope this will stop all the BASHING KS in some FORUMS….!!!! i knw it might be unintentionally done but now that we have finally heard from KS herself.. WE should forget about what has happened and look forward to New Moon…

I’m so glad to read this. I was getting a little nervous about all the little snippets of interviews here and there and even full interviews where it sounded like she was nearly done with Twilight. I can see where it’d be overwhelming for someone so used to doing more subtle roles. Not sure if that’s the correct word to describe her typical movies but none have been as in your face and EVERYWHERE as Twilight has been. I’d probably get freaked out too but I don’t think I could see all the movies as a continuance of the previous movie if we had a recast.
