Posted July 9th, 2009 By: Team Switzerland 13 Comments »

Comic Con 2009 has just released the programming for day one of the convention, Thursday July 23rd. Why does this concern Twilighters? It includes the schedule for the Summit Entertainment panel which contains the New Moon sneak peek and panel. Read below for more details:

1:45-2:45 Summit Entertainment— Summit Entertainment presents a sneak peek of exclusive footage of some of its upcoming major film releases!
Astro boy—A classic superhero origin story set in a futuristic world, Astro Boy is an all-new CG-animated feature film about a young robot with incredible powers and his adventure-filled journey in search of his identity and destiny. Join Freddie Highmore and Kristen Bell as they premiere the final trailer for Astro Boy before it’s in theaters.

Sorority Row—When five sorority girls inadvertently cause the murder of one of their sisters in a prank gone wrong, they agree to keep the matter to themselves and never speak of it again, so they can get on with their lives. This proves easier said than done, when after graduation a mysterious killer goes after the five of them and anyone who knows their secret. Join the cast of Sorority Row as they debut footage from the film exclusive to Comic-Con 2009.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon—Summit Entertainment is proud to present the panel for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s box office smash Twilight. Surprise members of the cast will answer your questions about the second film in the series and debut never-before-seen footage from the new film.

The panel will be held in Hall H from 1:45 to 2:45 but remember to get in line as early as possible to guarantee yourself a seat in the hall! There is no official panel list of who will be attending, but you can read our post here for all the details we have right now.

*Edit: The time of the Summit Panel has been changed to 1:45-2:45*

  • Christina

I see on the Comic Con site that Summit is from 2:15pm to 3:15pm.

I am beyond excited to be there! Hope to see you guys too!!

  • Team Switzerland

Twihard: the event won’t be on TV but there may be highlights on your local news about it. We will also be covering the event here on TA so make sure to check in for all of the updates.

Christina: We received word directly from Summit that the panel time has been moved up 30 minutes. It was originally 2:15-3:15 but moved up to 1:45-2:45. It doesn’t reflect that on Comic Con’s website, but it should soon. We will be at the event and hope to see you as well! :)

  • Christina

Well that is good to know! Thanks!!

  • JFBrenda

Does anyone know where I can still get a one day pass to attend, I go online and they appear to be all sold out. Anyone knows another source.please help a fellow twilighter I live so close :)

  • Dani

Would I have needed to have bought tickets in order to attend? Because I’m in San Diego during the 23rd, and I would absolutely love to go!
    More info please!!! X

  • Team Switzerland

Dani, yes you would have needed to buy tickets, but unfortunately they are all sold out now. There will, however, be a podcast event the following night if you are still in town. You can find more information about it here: http://twilightersanonymous.com/post-comic-con-new-moon-podcast-event.html

  • Chelle

Don’t they sell tickets at the door?

  • Team Switzerland

Nope :( They used to, but there are no on-site registrations anymore. All days are sold out. I believe it’s the quickest they’ve ever sold out.

  • Francesca

Will there be a video for people who live on the East Coast! I want to see that sneak peek!!

  • zophie

I’ve been to Comic Con lots of times and have some tips for those who have never been, or haven’t been in the past few years, and are going to this panel. For New Moon (you KNOW our fanbase is hardcore), I suggest camping out in Hall H ALL DAY otherwise there’s a great chance you won’t be allowed in. Claim your spot and stay there. Once you leave the hall for any reason, you will have to wait in The Impossible Line again, so use the bathroom first. Just as a precaution. The line snakes around the building early in the day so try to get there before the convention opens for the day for the best seats. Hall H is the biggest panel room they have and saying it’s massive is an understatement, but it’s the one where all the biggest hollywood panels go. Others will also be camping out to get the best seats for the panels they’re waiting for, so just be warned.

  • Bella

Do you no if there will be a live broadcast of the event for those of us who live farther north

  • Jaymes

Some of comic con like last year will be on TV live on G4
