TA Fan Bianca shares the following with us - Australia is going crazy about Twilight. We are getting interviews and huge billboards all over the country. Borders, Australia has exclusive calendars and the books are being sold at such a fast pace. Australia is Twilight addicted. The movie is coming out 11th of December and tickets are being sold out fast.
On the Today show was an exclusive interview with Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart and Australia is getting ready for the movie.
I guess Australia is gearing up for the Twilight movie. Seeing those clips makes me want to see the movie again. Hopefully the clips will do the same thing for all fans. Keep seeing it. What do you think of this interview with Stephenie and Kristen?
CANMAG.COM - Ashley Greene hasn’t even hit it big yet and already she has a following. These fans aren’t devoted to her episodic stints on Shark and Crossing Jordan. As soon as she was cast as Alice Cullen in Twilight, they found her.

“Yeah, I didn’t realize it was going to be such a huge deal until we were filming in Portland,” Greene said. “My mom said, ‘You have a fan site.’ I was like, ‘People don’t know who I am.’ You know, before the film’s even done, so it’s a pleasant surprise. They just saw photos of us online.”
Were she not in the film, Greene might have been one of those fans herself. “I actually read the first one before my first meeting. I wasn’t aware of them before that but my manager came to me and said this is a really great opportunity. It has the potential to be good and don’t mess up, basically. But they didn’t send the script out and they didn’t send breakdowns so they read the book in a day and a half and fell in love with it and read the second and third, just because I wanted to. So I get why people are so in love with it. When I finally got cast in the part, I was ecstatic and cried and super happy.”
Even Greene marveled at her vamped out self. “They did a fantastic job at kind of transforming all of us. We’re supposed to be these exquisite people but then we’re supposed to be these exquisite people trying to fit in, so it was a really hard [balance].”
Flying around wasn’t too bad either. “Wirework was amazing. It was super fun. You know, it’s not actually that difficult to take to I don’t think. You know, they rehearsed it 20 times. The first couple takes were kind of embarrassing actually, us trying to do it.”
It was the film’s set piece baseball scene that gave her the most difficulty. “I actually hit a cameraman with a baseball,” she admitted.
Ashley cried when she got the part. Nice to know she wanted it that bad after reading the script. I think she makes a great Alice. And she seems to be really nice to fans. What do you think? Have you met her? Is she super nice to fans? Is she your ideal Alice?

“I got my butt kicked a few times by my sisters. But I grew up so southern that my father would say, ‘You take it like a man.’ And I’d be like, ‘Oh, what? I’m 5!’ But it was interesting. My dad always taught me to treat my girlfriends the way I wanted my sisters to be treated by their boyfriends. They always taught me a really wonderful level of respect that’s not common these days.”
“When it comes to my sisters’ boyfriends, I’m either cool with them or my sisters know that I hate them. I’m pretty blunt with them and to the point. Back in high school, there were a couple of boys my sisters had and man, I let them know I didn’t like them. I was pretty upfront but my dad always had it right. Whenever my sisters brought them over to the house for the first time, he’d be teaching me how to clean the shotguns.”
“I miss Texas so bad. That’s the hard part about being out here in L.A., trying to pursue acting and music and lighting and production and stuff. It takes a lot of time out from your personal life, and I can only get back to Texas three times a year at most. It’s tough.”

“A lot of girls in L.A. just stand in the corner wondering ‘Who’s gonna talk to me? Who am I gonna diss?’ As for the girls in Arizona, it’s just so different. While most of the stars of Twilight are likely to be inundated with offers, Jackson Rathbone had already figured out what he’ll be doing for the next few months: pursuing his musical career.
Jackson, who plays Jasper, and his jazz/rock band 100 Monkeys are set to release their first EP and album, and will have a regular gig at the L.A. bar called the 24K Lounge.
Not that he’ll be neglecting acting. The 23-year-old plays a hippie in the Rob Schneider comedy Big Stan, now screening here; he’s completed the Donnie Darko sequel, S. Darko, as a nerd who falls in love with Darko’s younger sister; and he’s been in London shooting the Clive Barker horror film Dread.
Born in Singapore and raised in Texas, Rathbone (pictured with co-star Ashley Greene) loved playing Jasper, a vampire from the Civil War era who has the peculiar ability to control the emotions of people around him.
“I tried to keep it very stoic, calm and centred, to keep up the values that I believed Jasper was instilled with, when he was a kid,” he says. “I think those were fairly similar to the ones I grew up with.”
As for juggling two careers, he says, “I’m an actor, first and foremost, but the music, for me, is my soul. I could never give it up. I love performing.”
Glad to know he won’t be giving up acting any time soon - at least not until the Twilight series movies are finished. New Moon better have much more Jasper in it. I was sorely disappointed in the lack of Jazz in Twilight.

So we don’t really see his special powers in this one.
Jackson Rathbone: “Oh no.”
Why?
Jackson Rathbone: “We’ve a lot to do in this film and Jasper’s powers are one of those that you don’t really want to give up right on the onset. I think, hopefully, we get to do the second and third film and by the third film I think it’ll be very obvious. However I think we do a little subtleties here and there. I don’t know if you catch up on them but whenever Jasper meets Bella for the first time inside the Cullen house, there’s a little bit of a moment. It’s a slight, very subtle thing that Catherine [Hardwicke] worked on with all of us.”
It’s not something that you can outwardly show anyway.
Jackson Rathbone: “You know, it has to do with other people. It’s the ability to manipulate emotions. Maybe if turned around they’d yell all scream.”
Are you tired of signing your autograph yet?
Jackson Rathbone: “You know, no, but I think my hands have gone numb.”
So why do you think people love Twilight so much?
Jackson Rathbone: “I think everybody’s always attracted to the vampire genre. I’ve always been, myself. And the mythology of being immortal and invulnerable basically, it’s something extreme. I’ve always been attracted to extremes in life and in stories and art. I think that’s why people are here because it’s extreme yet at the same time, it’s grounded in morality.”
Did you miss not having fangs?
Jackson Rathbone: “You know, I was worried because that was going to be a mess. I’d be talking like this the entire time. I have fangs in my mouth and I can’t speak properly. No, no, no. We all talked about that and we’re really happy because it makes it more realistic, a little bit more modern, you know?”
Why does it make it more modern?
Jackson Rathbone: “Because it’s always been the old fairy tale that Nosferatu has these long fangs or Buffy the Vampire Slayer where their faces go and the forehead and the teeth grow out. So it’s like we’re in a new age, a new age that says, ‘Hey, you’ve got some pretty nice canines. I’ve got some pretty good canines. We can sink our teeth into some flesh. We could do some damage, couldn’t we?’”
I’ve read a lot of complaints about there not being enough Jasper in the movie and that he didn’t use his powers. I didn’t even notice there was a “moment” in the movie when he first met Bella. Did you notice that part? What do you think of what Jackson had to say?
Twilight (No. 2) was next in the five-day rankings, with $39.5 mil, although its three-day weekend total was a more disappointing $26.4 mil, a steep 62 percent drop from its huge debut a week ago. Still, the Stephenie Meyer saga continues to draw in teen girls, and it crossed the $100 mil mark in just eight days (its domestic haul is $119.7 mil), so there’s still plenty of good news there.
Umm wow. In roughly 10 days, Twilight is already close to the $150 million Summit needed to make New Moon. I’m thinking it will far surpass the $150 million when it’s all said and done. Twilight hasn’t come out yet in many countries and just wait until the DVD with extra scenes is available. What do you think of Twilight storming the box office? Did you expect this? What are you projections for what Twilight will make?
