Earlier this month there were rumors swirling that a song had leaked from Kelly Clarkson called “Did You” which supposedly was her contribution to the New Moon soundtrack. Ultimately, these rumors were proven false. Well, Kelly Clarkson is back, and this time she is talking about how she had written a song long ago inspired by the book called “Empty As I Am”:
(Thanks Boo)
I am not crazy about really mainstream artists being on the soundtrack, but I trust whatever Chris and the music team ultimately come up with. I do think Kelly has a great sound though, and I’d be interested in hearing the song she wrote for the film. We’ve heard her say before that she was a big Twilight fan, and I think it’s really cool that she was so moved by the series that she wrote a song about it.
What do you think of this interview? Would you be happy with Kelly contributing a song for the soundtrack? Which band(s) are you hoping are included on the New Moon soundtrack?
E!’s Daily 10 had a number one story last week with Nikki Reed. It seems Nikki Reed and some of her New Moon cast mates are all trying to quit smoking so they can be better role models to their young fans.
(Thanks MSUBando!)
I think it’s cool that we are seeing the cast notice this topic. We’ve heard so much from the Twilight fans about this topic, and many fans were disappointed to see so many from the cast smoking. I think it’s actually pretty impressive that Nikki would decide to do this. And if even more of the cast does quit, more the better. I know I for one would like to see all of them in movies for many years to come. Go Nikki!
What do you think of this news? Are you glad some Nikki and some of the cast are going to try and quit smoking to be better role models?
To celebrate the trailer being released at the Mtv Movie Awards tonight, we have a New Moon trailer which includes bits of the 15-second trailer we saw last week.
YiXuan send us this video, from youtube user lovesimplicity:
Wow, I actually had to wipe away some tears whilst watching this trailer. The bit were you can hear Edward say he’s leaving is just heartbreaking. I’m going to be an emotional wreck when I’m watching the movie!
What do you think of this trailer? Are you expecting something like this tonight? What scenes are you hoping for to be in the official trailer?
Larson Hill over at the Deaadbolt.com has written another fantastic article on the hype surrounding the New Moon trailer. He makes some good points about how the trailer will be judged and reviewed, and it is only a snippet of what the studio is trying to promote, not necessarily what the final movie product will be.
Amid all of the online Twilight hype surrounding the release of the official New Moon trailer at the MTV Movie Awards and on MySpace, how many websites do you think will be writing reviews of the New Moon trailer come Sunday night? It doesn’t really matter. Obviously there will be thousands upon thousands, and thousands more after that. In fact, trailer reviews for New Moon have already hit the Internet, even reviews of exclusive 15-second footage. It’s amazing. There was a time not too long ago when most top tier entertainment editors and webmasters scoffed at trailer reviews. The general consensus among many credible publishers was that reviewing a movie trailer was pointless since there’s no way you can gauge the final product by analyzing a calculated promotional spot selling tool. Although it may not look like it at first glance, it’s still that way today. But what type of impact will the New Moon trailer have on fans in the midst of growing mountains of press coverage?
Will the official New Moon trailer be an accurate barometer of how good New Moon will be in the end and how Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner have grown? For some Twilighters, sure, any footage is good footage. From our perspective, the New Moon trailer will serve a dual purpose: 1. It will satisfy the near fever pitch Twilight anticipation. 2. Build fresh New Moon momentum from a brand new starting point. Hey, we’re just as excited to see the New Moon trailer as you are, but it’s been awkwardly entertaining to see so much hype around … well … a trailer. Not that we haven’t seen massive trailer hype in the past with other films, but this time the online bandwagon is a lot bigger and it’s going to be littered with thousands of reviews of the New Moon trailer between Sunday night and Monday morning. The trailer hype is all a bit too Pavlovian at this point, but coverage of The Twilight Saga and New Moon is quickly becoming just as entertaining as the novels and movies. It really is an interesting and revealing study in human behavior.
I never even thought of this subject. We saw people judging a 15 second clip this week, and either loving it or getting upset, and that was only 15 seconds. I can imagine there really will be thousands upon thousands of reviews of the New Moon trailer by tomorrow morning. I never thought to sit back and remember it’s only a trailer. Sometimes what is in the trailer even gets cut out of the final edit on the movie too. Still I know I’ll be squealing with excitement when I see that trailer tonight…
What did you think of the article? Do you think we should judge and review the trailer?
We have exciting news from the land of Twilight or specifically in this case, New Moon merchandise! We’ve heard reports, and now have a picture of proof that New Moon products are hitting the shelves at Hot Topic.
Picture thanks to work4twilight on twitter. Remember to follow TA on twitter , here to get the latest New Moon updates too. Work4twilight also states that the Hot Topic in Riverside, California is one of the very first stores to get the new merchandise.
Over on the TA forum, TA member van_driver also tells us that a manager at Hot Topic told them that next week the stores will be getting in the first shipments of New Moon gear. Some stores already have the junior cut tees, but adult cut tees and New Moon posters are also on their way.
Hot Topic’s online webstore has not yet added any New Moon merchandise to their page, but if you want to check out and stock up on their available Twilight merchandise, click here.
I admit, I love the Twilight merchandise, and am the proud owner of a few Hot Topic shirts already. I’m actually excited to get some New Moon shirts from them too!
What do you think of the first New Moon shirts? Are you going to get one?
