Kellan Lutz made a stop by the Jay Leno show yesterday to squeeze in a quick little interview and some New Moon promotion. In the very cute new interview, Kellan talks about how he picked two fans out of the audience at the L.A. premiere to come see the film with him, his weirdest fan story (and how his mom will beat up any Twi-Mom), how he was left out of his own New Moon after party, and more.
I love that Kellan picked two fans out of the premiere audience to see the film. Not many actors would do that, so I think that was very sweet of him. It was pretty sad to see that clip of him being left out of the New Moon after party, though. You’d think the security would be able to recognize the film’s actors!
We’ve been getting individual interview after individual interview with our New Moon leads, but thanks to Jimmy Kimmel, we have an interview with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner together! In the late night interview, the three talk about how difficult it is for them to go out without being recognized (especially together), what it took for them to get in shape and prepared for the film, and they even take a few fun audience questions.
Aside from the awkward dating talk, this interview was pretty fun. It’s nice to see the three in an interview and they are fun to watch altogether. What did you think of this interview?
Peter Facinelli, who plays patriarch Carlisle Cullen in The Twilight Saga franchise, took a little time to stop by the PopEater studios and talk about the films. In this new interview, Peter talks about the film’s premiere last Monday, what he is looking forward to in Eclipse, and what he knows about Breaking Dawn, among other things. Watch PFach’s full interview below:
I know New Moon literally just came out yesterday, but hearing all this talk and excitement about Eclipse is already making me impatient! The vamp fighting and hearing about Esme ‘rolling up her sleeves’ sounds so great and I am so very much looking forward to the film. What did you think of this interview?
In even more coverage from the NYC screening of New Moon this week, MTV stopped to talk to Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. In the new set of interviews, the actors talk about New Moon, of course, the next installment in the saga, Eclipse, and Robert Pattinson’s new film, Remember Me.
Kristen Stewart interview:
“I’m looking forward to seeing the love triangle actually becoming a problem,” she said. “We sort of innocently touch on it in ‘New Moon,’ but it actually becomes something that is very, very real.”
Stewart said seeing Bella grow and develop in the upcoming flicks will certainly prove interesting for her, as well as the Twi-Hards. “I’ve always backed her up in her devotion to Edward,” she said. “And to see that falter will be interesting.”
Robert Pattinson interview
“I think Bella’s little bit of treachery in the third one will be … I think it’s going to be a good scene,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at the NYC screening of “New Moon.”
While the “Twilight Saga” has catapulted Pattinson to mega-stardom, he isn’t resting on his laurels. The trailer for his new film “Remember Me” came out Thursday (November 19), and it seems to have an equally drama-filled relationship — even if Pattinson doesn’t see the parallels. “It’s not very similar to ‘Twilight,’ ” he said. “[But] hopefully it will get the same fanbase.”
Taylor Lautner interview
“I don’t know if [fans will] be shocked, because if you’ve read the books, you know what you’re going to see, but I really hope they enjoy the werewolves,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at the NYC screening of “New Moon” on Thursday night. “It was really exciting to see them for the first time.”
And if seeing Lautner shirtless in “New Moon” weren’t enough excitement for Twilighters, then seeing all the love-triangle action play out in “Eclipse” will certainly pique the fans’ already-heightened interest. ” ‘Eclipse’ was my favorite book, so it was a lot of fun filming,” he said. “My favorite scene in the entire series is the tent scene, where the three of us are together. And it’s gonna be really fun. There’s a lot of comedy in ‘Eclipse.’ “
And if you haven’t already, check out the newly released trailer for Rob’s new film Remember Me (which looks amazing!) here.
In more news from MTV and their New Moon NYC screening coverage, they stopped to talk to the cast and get their favorite scenes from the film. Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, and Kellan Lutz all took the time out to list their favorite scenes and from the looks of it, we’ve got some Team Jacob fans on our hands!
“I liked when Jacob transforms into the werewolf,” Peter Facinelli revealed to MTV News. “When I was reading the book — I mean, your imagination goes so far, and I was like, ‘I can’t wait to see that in the film,’ and it didn’t disappoint.”
Facinelli also loved getting to see the scene with the film’s soundtrack worked in. “I saw an early cut of it, and I loved that cut,” he explained. “And it was pretty similar, except it had all the music laid into it. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack, so it’s been pretty cool.”
Fellow Cullen Ashley Greene flew her Team Jacob flag by highlighting the wolf fights. “I think that I like the wolf fight. You never know how those are going to turn out with the CGI. I think it turned out very well,” she said, adding that evil vamps Jane and Aro are also cool.
“I was obviously there filming it and kind of saw the way Michael Sheen commanded the room, and he’s so fantastic to watch and be across from,” she added. “So I wanted to see how they came across on film, and I thought that it was a very cool scene.”
It seems that more Cullens are also jumping on the Jacob bandwagon. Kellan Lutz added, “The first time I saw it, it wasn’t 100-percent done, so the werewolves were still clay-mation. But the wolf fighting, it’s awesome. It really is pretty cool.”
Nikki Reed may be Lutz’s partner onscreen, but in real life she had to admit that seeing any scene with Lautner in the film stands out as her favorite. “Anything with Taylor in it!” she said. “I always believed in Taylor, but I didn’t know how much he would shine, and he truly is a star. And I’ve never seen such a gorgeous young man do an entire seen with his shirt off and you don’t even notice. He’s intoxicating!”
The cast also stops to weigh in on who they think is the hottest guy in the film, and you can view that set of interviews here.

MTV caught up with director Chris Weitz at the special New York screening of New Moon last night to talk about what else? New Moon. In the new interview, Chris talks about how the film ends with an emotional cliffhanger (which he hopes moviegoers won’t spoil!), how proud he is of the final product, and more:
“The final scene is extraordinarily emotional, and it leads to a very potent climax,” he told MTV News on the red carpet of the NYC screening of “New Moon.” “And it’s kind of a spoiler, which I hope people won’t give away.”
The film ends in a specific way, with Bella and Edward sharing a very special moment, and he said the way it appears onscreen was determined very carefully. “Everything about it was planned to reach that ultimate moment,” he said.
Weitz was not only excited about the film’s ending, but also the way it all came together as a complete piece. He’s really hoping Twilighters approve.
“I feel really good about the final product,” he said. “I feel it was as close to the final product as I could make it, which was an honest version of the book and something that a fan would appreciate. So it’s not made for any particular demographic, except for the reader of the book who really wants to see it visualized.”
You can also view another video from MTV from the NYC screening where the film’s cast takes the time to gush not only over director Chris Weitz, but actor Taylor Lautner as well. Check that out here.
Okay, well I loved the ending of New Moon! I think it was my favorite part of the film and I’m glad he chose to go that route.
What did you think of Chris Weitz’s ending to the film?
