COLLIDER: B-ROLL - BEHIND THE SCENES FOOTAGE FROM ‘NEW MOON’

Steve over at Collider has 10 minutes of incredible B-roll - behind the scenes footage from the making of New Moon. The footage includes lots of stunt work in the movie from Jacob and the wolf pack plus quite a bit from the interior Volturi fight scenes and even a little from the birthday party. See more below:

*Warning! This is major spoilers*

Also courtesy of Steve at Collider we have the clips Bella’s Papercut, Jacob’s Transformation and Volturi Fight all together. Enjoy!

You can read more at Collider here.

You can see studio interviews with Kristen, Rob and Taylor at Collider here.

(Thanks Noor!)

I’m still trying to locate my jaw that dropped open when I watched that B-roll footage. This looks absolutely incredible! I didn’t think I could possibly get more excited for New Moon, but now we’re so close, November 20th is just around the corner.

Did you watch the B-roll footage? What did you think?

‘NEW MOON’ CAST TOUR: L.A. STOP ROUNDUP

Yesterday kicked off the New Moon cast tour in Los Angeles and there is a ton of coverage out there for those of you who were unable to go. We’ve compiled a group of pictures, videos, and articles for all of you so you can relive the event as if you were there!

• View hundreds more fan pictures from Twilighter Alisha here.
• Watch a video from the event from ABC L.A. here.
• Watch a video from RadarOnline here and a cast Q&A video from the event here.

SPIN.com was also at the event and has a great little rundown of the musical performances and set lists from yesterday:

On stage, opening with their bluesy “I Know What I Am,” U.K. three-piece Band Of Skulls burned through a set that ran just shy of 20 minutes and channeled bits of the White Stripes, Black Sabbath, and the Black Keys. An apropos performance of “Hollywood Bowl” prefaced the closing song – their garagey New Moon contribution, “Friends,” which was met with squeals at an octave previously reserved for the likes of the Beatles.

Indie folk-poppers Sea Wolf followed, delivering a cello-swathed selection of songs whose titles were matched to the event: “You’re A Wolf,” from 2007’s Leaves In The River, “Turn The Dirt Over” and “Wicked Blood,” both off of the just-released White Water, White Bloom, and the at once bouncy and autumnal soundtrack piece “The Violet Hour.”

Both were impressive, but Anya Marina, whose “Satellite Heart” is one of New Moon’s most captivating moments, stole the show. “What’s up Hollywood? Are you guys having fun?” the grinning singer asked to a chorus of shrieks. “Well, we want to have fun with you.” She meant it.

Happy Stephenie Saturday! We’ve got another installment of “Stephenie’s Playlist” coming your way today, and this week we’re highlighting another song for you straight from Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight book playlist. TWILIGHT DESKTOP WALLPAPER CALENDAR NOVEMBER 2009 - TWILIGHTERS ANONYMOUS

I’m terrible! I’m late! Yes, I’m terribly late…in releasing this wallpaper for this month of November 2009. Of all the months to be late, it just HAD to be New Moon Movie release month that I’m late.

Rest assured we sure heard all your cries of frustration about its delayed roll-out so we’ll try to NOT be late for upcoming months in order to avoid the onslaught of email and twitter messages and *ahem* “friendly” reminders. Yeah, you know who you are.

Last month, we introduced the first installment of our new monthly feature with desktop calendar wallpapers for fans of Team Jacob and Team Edward. This month we’d like to feature what I’m really excited about seeing in the movie, the Volturi. New Moon introduces this Italian vampire mafia family and I sure can’t wait to dive into their world and finally see them all fleshed out. From what we’ve seen so far, Chris Weitz has done a great job bringing the Volturi realm into reality.

I do apologize for the delay but I hope you like what we have for you this month. To keep you TA’ers from staring at the same October 2009’s wallpaper any longer, here’s November 2009 Desktop Calendar Wallpaper:

CHRIS WEITZ SAYS WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE ‘NEW MOON’ DVD

During the big press junket today, Steve over at Collider had the great opportunity to speak with New Moon director Chris Weitz about what we can expect from the DVD for the film. Of course, this is not finalized yet, but it gives us some great things to look forward to. Check out what Chris had to say below:

Collider: What can we expect on the New Moon DVD?

Chris Weitz: On the DVD there will be some deleted scenes, there will be a commentary with me and I think Kristen, Rob and Taylor at the same time, and some making of and behind the scenes type stuff.

My big question is how many minutes of deleted scenes?

Weitz: I think it’s around twenty.

Is there really going to be that many minutes?

Weitz: Yeah, but sometimes it’s just showing a whole scene with bits that have been cut out. There is not like twenty minutes of stuff thrown out. It’s like here is the fully expanded scene.

Here’s my question….the Twilight fans are obsessed with seeing stuff they haven’t seen before. So how many minutes do you think of footage that’s not in the theater would be on the DVD/Blu-ray?

Weitz: I’d say a good ten minutes of groovy stuff they haven’t seen.

So why did you cut it?

Weitz: The running time of the film and the cadence of how I wanted the film to play.

What do you think about what Chris had to say? Are you looking forward to the DVD extras and deleted scenes?

EXCLUSIVE FANSITE INTERVIEWS WITH THE ‘NEW MOON’ BAD BOYS

Yesterday we brought you an exclusive interview with the New Moon humans and today we’re back with an interview with the New Moon bad boys - none other than Edi Gathegi (Laurent) and Alex Meraz (Paul). The questions in the interview are from the following websites: Twilighters Anonymous, Twilight Lexicon, Twilight Examiner, Twilight Series Theories, Twilight Facebook, Twilight Moms, His Golden Eyes, Twilighters.org, MSN Twilight Superfan, Twilight Source, and Bella and Edward. Check out a preview of the interviews below.

Interview with Edi Gathegi and Alex Meraz:

Alex, Chris Weitz said that the eyes of the wolves were going to be kind of the actors’ eyes – you know, their soul – so is it going to be your eyes that we’re going to see on Paul in wolf form?

Alex: I’ve yet to see the finished version of my wolf, so I don’t know. But if they put my eyes on there I’m sure it’ll be really dreamy [laughs].

There’s a lot of the news about Chris Weitz being very skilled with CGI, and I was wondering if this was each of your first experience in dealing with CGI, and how did you find it?

Alex: Yes, this is my first time doing CGI, and I was completely excited because I knew he had brought his team from The Golden Compass who was Phil Tippett who’s a legend in that realm, so I was completely excited … And it was great, it was very clear – most times when you work with CGI, from what I’d heard, it’s pretty hard to understand what’s going on because it takes a lot of imagination, but I found it to be really clear to do what I needed to do.

Edi: Yeah, yeah, it does take a lot of imagination to let it work. I mean, there are basically several slates that are going on in any given scene where they have to create the entire scene but you have to act like the wolves – you know Styrofoam cows and they you know they do the movement of what the wolf would do, and then they take them away and put the actor in there. They just do a bunch of stuff over and over and over again in order to get the scene to later on draw the wolf in. It’s sophisticated labor and stuff, but I think we had some of the best people in the world for it, so …
