"BREAKING" SALES RECORDS

With the release of Breaking Dawn, USAToday.com reported that it was the largest first-day sales record for The Hachette Book Group. Estimates show that approximately 3.7 million copies of Breaking Dawn were sold in the wee hours of August 2nd.

This shouldn’t come too much as a surprise when you consider that: there were Breaking Dawn Release celebrations at more than 1,500 bookstores, some 2,000 fans attended a sold-out event with Stephenie Meyer at the Nokia Theatre in New York Friday evening, and that about 250,000 people watched this event via streaming video. Fans of the series are an enthusiastic bunch and the sales will no doubt continue to increase.
