STEPHENIE MEYER.COM UPDATE: CLOSING MYSPACE

STEPHENIE MEYER.COM UPDATE: CLOSING MYSPACE

Stephenie Meyer has updated her official website again today. Stephenie has decided she will shut down her Myspace page. From now on her only official online presence will be her website.

A quick fyi: I am taking down my bloated myspace page. It was a lot of fun while it lasted, and I really miss the early days when I could hang out with people online. Many of you are hilarious and insightful, and I wish it was easier for me to talk to everyone the way I used to.

With the myspace no longer in existence, I can now clearly state that—beside than this website—there is no other outlet where I communicate with people online. I do not have a facebook page, and I have never had one. I don’t do twitter. So if you’re communicating with someone online that you think is me, it’s not.

Hope you all are having a great summer so far! If you’re looking for some beach reading, you might try Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series if you haven’t already. My son finally finished book five yesterday so I could read it today. It was a fantastic end to a fantastic series. I tip my hat to you, Mr. Riordan!

XO
Steph

Well this clears up any lingering confusion that Stephenie has a facebook or a twitter account. Now we know for sure her website is the only place we can believe it is really her. It is too bad that it’s not easier for Stephenie to talk to all her fans online, but she is only one person, and we are a huge fan base. I’m glad we still get updates through her website!

What do you think of what Stephenie said? Have you read the book she suggested?

I am so very glad she cleared this up. I was following a “Stephenie Meyer” on twitter. It is frustrating when regular people pose as celebs. I hate to waste my support on the fakes. It makes complete sense that Stephenie would only have 1 site….she is extremely busy and a mom of 3 boys, like myself. I am just grateful to have the Twilight Saga to read over and over and 3 movies to look forward too. I also look forward to any other novels Stephenie will write. I am forever a huge fan. I can’t wait to start on The Host!

I haven’t read that particular book she just mentioned but I have read one she recommended before- The Hunger Games by Susan Collins and I did like that. I is love story that takes place in the future. There is a sequel coming out in Sept. I do wish she would finish and even expand on Midnight Sun, sigh.

    I dunno…seems kind of sad.

  4. Terri Jo responded:

Thanks for letting us know that you won’t disappear!! I enjoy the Olympian series too! A few other good ones are:Micheal Scott/The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel[the 3rd =The Sorceress is out] or Obert Skye/Levin Thumps [book 4 is out in hardcover], Brandon Mull/Fablehaven is good [the 3rd is recently out] or D.J.MacHale/Pendragon series is up to book 8…I’m hoping the girls will let me read now that summer vacation starts!I invested in the Saga on CD=I can listen to it while driving to work[60 miles one way!]Although,in Minnesota you can become as pale as a vampire if you stay inside to read-but a Northeast wind could freeze you[even in the summer]along Lake Superior! Hope to be able to read Midnight Sun in the ?near future? Love your work Stephenie!

I also love the Olympian series. And to agree with Terri Jo the Micheal Scott series is fantastic as well. It is sad that she had to get rid of her my space account but understandable. Like you said we are a huge fan base and she only has so much time. And as a mother I understand that her children must come first then her work. Even though we are all hoping for something new. Stephenie if you read this thank you for the wonderful series and keep writing. You are fantastic, it is an amazing thing to have an audience of every age following your work. All of my family from my 12 year old cousin to my 48 year old mother love your work. Thanks

I just wanted to say, thanks to SM’s Twilight Saga, I was reminded how much I love to read. I haven’t read in years until Twilight came along. Even my own 63 year old mother has been drawn to all 4 books, aunts and cousins too, which is a miracle in my opinion! I also really hope that she picks up Midnight Sun and finish writing it (what I’ve read so far has sent shivers down my spine, only SM books has ever done that!). I’m definitely looking into her book list and go from there on what to read. I’m forever a fan too!
