I really enjoyed dawnnoelle’s TA Talks Back article. While most of the cast interviews continue to re-hash the same “canned” questions, I can’t help but worry about the overly saturated hype for the movie. Every Twilighter is going to secretly (or publicly) scrutinize the movie for some minute detail that they feel should (or shouldn’t) be in the movie. I am a true fan of the Twilight Saga, but c’mon guys - it’s a MOVIE. We’ve seen this with the Harry Potter franchise. Fans of the book, who then become fans of the movie by mere association walk in expecting J. K. Rowling to have directed it. It’s impossible to please everyone - someone’s always going to be let down. Movies are an entirely different animal…they have budgets to worry about, time constraints, and studio execs who have personal agendas and visions of their own.
People need to remember that this isn’t really “Bella” and “Edward”…this is Kristen and Rob portraying Bella and Edward. Their jobs are hard enough to do without people hacking up their performances! The best thing is to approach November 21st with an open mind. I’m excited about the film and to see how Catherine and the cast bring Twilight to cinematic life - but I’m not going to set the expectation that it’s going to be a certain way.
Kristen Stewart said in a recent interview that she “hates when people celebrate things before they should be celebrated”. I couldn’t agree more. I say we just let them do their job, sit back, and enjoy the show.
