CONFIRMED: ‘Breaking Dawn’ to Hit Theaters November 18, 2011

Not too long ago we told you the reports that Breaking Dawn will hit theaters in November 2011, and now we can confirm this info! Thanks to HitFix, we now have official confirmation through Summit Entertainment that the film will hit theaters on November 18th, 2011. Summit still has yet to confirm whether the book will be adapted to one or two films (although THR and Deadline report that it will be two). Read Hit Fix’s report below:

A Summit Entertainment spokesperson has confirmed to HitFix that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will open nationwide on Nov. 18, 2011. It’s still officially unknown if “Dawn” will be broken up into one or, as rumored, two films. Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all expected to return.

Directed by Oscar-winner Bill Condon, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer’s popular series chronicles Bella’s most advanced initiation into the vampire world to date, but is also seen by many as the most difficult to adapt of all the best-selling novels. Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted the first two novels, would continue in that role for “Dawn.”

    Its good to know when its coming out but i feel its very far away, have so got into the story. Once you see eclipse u gotta wait 16mths before the next first chapter .(if its split in two ) its annoying we gotta wait nine days before we ( ie uk fans) are able to watch eclipse as it is . But i suppose i'll have to endure it . lol

      Come to Alberta, CANADA …. we will see Eclipse here on June 30, 2010 and we are very lovely people!

      were (australia) getting it 1 july but i wont be able to see it coz im on school choir tour in nz :P at least youll see it before me, the first day it comes out in ur country

    am plsed there is a date, but its sooo far away, its so long t wait between eclipse n breakin dawn! but thn tht is probs the date for US t release n not UK! i think tht it would b best if it is split int 2, othawise we are gona lose soo much of the story, which would be a huge mistake t lose any of it, with it being such a good read!

    Seriously? We have to wait over a year from when Eclipse is released to see the last movie? I think that's a bit much!

    It's great to know a date for Breaking Dawn. I am all for at least two movies for the book as there are so many important items that can't be left out that the two movie idea is a good call.

    i would much rather it be one movie.. i dont want to have to wait for the second half after seeing the first. i also would like to have 4 movies to match my 4 books, haha.

    yay confirmation! i REALLLLLLY want it to be two movies, so they follow it AS CLOSE to the book as they can. a lot of people's fav books are BD and Eclipse, so they should make these as close to the fans' tastes as possible. I am not looking forward to MR being the screenwriter again, but i guess its a given coz shes written the rest, and BD would have a diff tone to the others if they replaced her. she hasnt done the series justice.

    Why are people upset that the date is far away?? Don't you get it? This is a huge movie, they need time for pre and post production, and fiming of course. All the actors are doing other projects they are already booked for, so they have to work around their schedules. The book is long…..and I thought so sure people wanted it right. Things that are done right take time.

    OK I dont get you people! Yes, that is a long time but dont you want them to get it right and take their time? She is still working on the script! I actually thought it would take longer. Im glad they are not rushing into it! And you people who only want one film….hello! Do you think BD would have been good if it was only 200 pages? If they break it up We get more! Real fans want as much as we can get!

    whoop whoop breaking dawn !!!!!!!!! awwww november 2011 seems so far away but itz better than no movie. i wanna see breaking dawn split into two movies the more the better ! lol i wonder how they'll shoot all scenes renesmee will be in and like the umm… honeymoon and birth scene.
