Some huge, huge news today, Twilighters. Thanks to our awesome friends over at the Twilight Lexicon, we have a big story today about the partnership of Creation Entertainment and Summit Entertainment. Creation Entertainment are the lovely people who put on all the amazing Twilight conventions across the world (check out their website here). The two are coming together to present the first OFFICIAL Twilight conventions and you can read more about this amazing new partnership below:

Los Angeles, CA August 17, 2009 – Summit Entertainment and Creation Entertainment today announced a partnership to produce a series of Official TWILIGHT Fan Conventions over the next three years.

The unprecedented success of both the Twilight novels by Stephenie Meyer and the feature film adaptation of the first book has created a worldwide following of passionate fans who are eagerly awaiting the release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, the second movie in Summit’s TWILIGHT film franchise, which will be released theatrically in North America on November 20, 2009.

The Official TWILIGHT Fan Conventions will offer attendees the unique opportunity to involve themselves in all aspects of THE TWILIGHT SAGA. The weekend gatherings will feature on-stage appearances by TWILIGHT celebrities, exclusive footage screenings, panel discussions, TWILIGHT themed parties, musical performances, costume and trivia competitions, auctions, autographing, merchandising, and photo opportunities. The major online TWILIGHT fan websites, including www.twilightlexicon.com and www.twilightMOMS.com, will be participating with special presentations at stops on the convention tour.
Erin Ferries, VP of Creation Entertainment, said, “It is a delight to be involved with the tremendous excitement that surrounds THE TWILIGHT SAGA. The fans are incredibly knowledgeable about the property and have used the story as a springboard for their own creativity. The Official TWILIGHT Fan Conventions will allow attendees the chance to show off their TWILIGHT inspired artwork, writing, costumes, filmmaking, and music with thousands of their fellow fans. While the conventions will offer fans the chance to cheer for their favorite actors they are equally about gathering with like-minded folks and forming friendships based on a common devotion. We can’t wait to bring some of the magic of TWILIGHT live to cities around the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom!”

“The fans of THE TWILIGHT SAGA continue to be incredibly supportive of the film franchise and we wanted to find a way to allow them to immerse themselves in the films and the characters in a much more interactive setting,” said Nancy Kirkpatrick, President of Worldwide Marketing of Summit Entertainment. “The Official TWILIGHT Fan Conventions will offer incredible opportunities to get up close to the characters which they have grown to love.”

Official TWILIGHT Fan Conventions around the country with more then 20 stops have already been announced including New Jersey, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, Nashville, San Francisco, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Arlington, Charlotte, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Boston, Toronto and Portland.

More information on any of these weekend events can be found at www.TwilightConvention.com.

Okay, so I’m officially on the floor. This is so exciting and the prospect of actors, exclusive footage, etc. is too much for me to take in right now. I can’t wait to attend!

What are your thoughts on this new partnership? Have you been to a past Creation Ent. Twilight Tour stop? Do you intend to go to one of the official stops?

OMC!I’m sooo excited! I live in England and I missed the Eternal Twilight 2 convention so this will be another chance for me! thanks YAY!

  • Susan

that link above to the twilightconvention.com doesn’t work.

  • Chelle

    Yay! San Francisco!

Question though, I’m a bit confused, what is the difference between this and the ones that have taken place so far? The pricing looks pretty much the same.

  • Chris

Chelle, and I thought I saw one scheduled for San Diego and it appears as if it’s gone. The idea is amazing though and I would go in a heartbet.

  • Team Switzerland

Chelle: I think it will be better overall just because it’s official. I think they’ll have the opportunity to get more actors to go to conventions and they talk about screening special footage (which obviously they couldn’t do without the studio’s backing), so overall I just think there will be more exclusive stuff and more opportunities to get the actors to go.

Chris: The San Diego convention is being put on by a different company (and isn’t official). Here is the link to that convention post: http://twilightersanonymous.com/fantasy-twilight-tour-convention-announcement.html

  • Debbie

The link works but you can’t order yet. It doens’t allow you too. Wow. Very pricey though. That’s too bad.

  • Chelle

Thanks Kara! OMG that would be so great if they do special scenes from Eclipse in next year’s convention! AHHHH!!!

Chris, there’s one in LA! that’s close enough to you!

  • kayla rose

these prices are ridiculous! i can’t believe they want us to pay $100+ when twicon and comic-con were like so much cheaper! [well at least comic con was]

i hate how they have overpriced tickets. i love twilight, but its so not worth blowing off all this money. we should make a petition! ;)

  • Mary

I’m excited that they are officially pairing up. Kellan Lutz, Ashley Green, Jackson Rathbone, and Billy Burke were all scheduled to go to the Phoenix Creation Entertainment Convention but all canceled less than a week before because the convention conflicted with the filming of Eclipse. I assume that if Summit is partnering with Creation Entertainment, there won’t be any future scheduling conflicts.

I went to the Creation Convention in Atlanta this July, and it was worth every penny! The people who run Creation have been doing conventions dating back to Star Trek. They are truly professional, and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a wonderful time. I do not have a lot of money, and had to save for months to purchase the tickets I wanted, but it was well worth it!!

Their atmosphere is very relaxed, yet very organized. I’m already saving money for my next Creation TwiTour!! This is GREAT news!

  • PrincessJen

Have you seen those ticket prices? Egads. And then having to pay to get an autograph or take a picture with one of them…it just doesn’t sit well with me.

I’m going to the one in NJ next weekend and I can’t wait. All of these conventions are expensive, it’s not just Creation Ent. that charges a lot. I’ve seen another one that is coming to NJ in March that is charging just as much as the one I paid for.

We just got back from the Twi-tour in Phoenix. My husband and I and our 10 year old daughter thought it was the most fun weekend trip we have ever had. The celebrities were so hilarious I laughed the whole weekend. The HillyWood people were awesome. We bought the tickets last February so we got front row seats which meant no waiting for the autographs at all! Definitely go for the Gold package if you can, it cuts the wait time down and includes the concert, which was great with Michael Welch doing a hilarious 2 songs, Gil Birmingham doing about 5 on his guitar, and other Bands that were also fun to see. It also includes the Vampire Ball which was a ton of fun! The Sunday brunch was also really cool, each celebrity comes by your table to sit and chat for 5 minutes, up close and personal, ask whatever you want!
Summit and Creation together definitely means less last minute cancellations due to filming and more big name stars, plus more sneak peek stuff and bloopers and behind the scene stuff and all that!!

We originally were really disappointed that Ashley, Jackson, Billy and Kellan couldn’t be there but the people they got were so awesome it didn’t really matter. My daughter wanted to meet Ashley and I wanted to meet Jackson, but after this weekend, she is in love with Michael Welch (even got several hugs and high fives from him over the three days) and I think Chaske (Sam) is so cool, his laugh is absolutely wonderful, and he gives good hugs!!!! Even Kiowa (Embry call)stopped by to hang out Saturday night, he was doing a signing elsewhere in Phoenix, he is the cutest little wolf cub ever.

We got center aisle seats for next year, they did an early buy in for people there to get the best seats before they go on sale to the public, (just before the prices go up after the announcement of the partnership between Summit and Creation). We switched from front row seats A 3,4,5 which is left of center stage but in front of the big screens, to 2nd row center aisle which is a bit closer to the stars. The seats went really fast, we got called up 6th to upgrade and there were about 10 more people after us .The front 3-4 rows are pretty much gone because so many people there upgraded their seats for next year. Plus the head guy at Creation hinted that next year they will have all the stars that canceled this year plus more, plus Jackson’s 100 Monkeys Band for the concert…..
The Phoenix stop is 2 weeks before Eclipse opens so who knows what sneak peeks we’ll get!!!!

Just an FYI for anyone looking to attend the Charlotte convention…

The Marriott that is hosting the event has a promotion that gives you 50% off of one night’s stay if you bring a statement from a registered 501c non-profit organization saying that you volunteered 8 hours of your time. Orgs like Meals on Wheels qualify, I’m sure there are massive lists out there online. The promo is called Give a Day, Get a Night.

It’s a great way to save on your room and serve your community at the same time!

I planned on taking my niece first to the TwiCon in Dallas, but didn’t due to her fear of flying. So glad based on the feedback.

But then heard about the Creation TwiTour in NJ. Yeah. Due to her indecision, we missed out on the tickets as I wont go for just a day..I want the whole thing.

Next year, I am so there!!! The price seems pretty standard to me, especially for all that you get with the package…just look at the current NJ convention…autographs and reserved seating, depending on what package you book.

  • twilight.obsessed

I’m going to the New Jersey one. I cant wait!
