DISH RAG: KRISTEN STEWART ON ‘NEW MOON’

Posted March 15th, 2009 By: Evie 3 Comments »

The Dish Rag from the Los Angeles Times got a chance to get some answers from Kristen Stewart, who was at a press junket for ‘Adventureland’.

The Dish Rag asked Kristen Stewart, at the press junket for the winning ’80s comedy “Adventureland,” how it feels to start to film the second “Twilight” film, “New Moon.”

Is she excited about going back to that world?

“I’m looking forward to all of the new aspects of the movie,” she says.

“A lot more introduced, like the world of the werewolves is coming alive. The second movie is much more quaint. Edward [Robert Pattinson] leaves her, which is interesting, considering since the first movie is based on their devotion to each other.”

“So to see them cope without each other and to see this character Jacob, who is supposed to represent light and warmth and he pulls her out of a rut that’s like seemingly impossible — it’s really tragic. Like, I can’t wait to see Taylor’s [Lautner] face when I tell him, ‘It’s him, it’s always been him,” she says with an audible shiver.

In some respects, Stewart found more to work with in the second book.

“The first one was good because it was ultimate love, and abandon, and that’s good but it’s kind of one-note.”

Now Bella is growing up.

“She’s getting older,” Stewart says. “Over the course of these four movies, she has to become a formidable partner, because in the end, and I don’t think I’m ruining anything here, they end up together. And in the first one, he’s very much a man and she’s very much a child and she has to become more of a formidable partner.”

And about her new buff Jacob, she admits that those new muscles are pretty hot. “He’s Jack. It’s crazy.”

But no, he’s not on steroids.

“He did some serious gym time. He’s an entirely different person physically,” she says. “It took him so much time and he’s so devoted. He’s amped!”

It really does sound like Kristen is excited about ‘New Moon’, and not only that, she sounds excited about the personal growth that Bella goes through in the series.

Did you like this interview? What do you think of Kristen’s thoughts on ‘New Moon’?

To be honest, I’m not a big KStew fan, but it’s nice to see her taking the role a little more seriously than in the past. I mean, she made a remark about how “easy it would be to walk away from it all.” I truly hated that she said that because it made her sound like SHE was the movie’s big draw. And, while some fans would be devastated, a good majority of us would not be crying. That’s just a fact! Sorry, girl but most of us are here for either Edward or Jacob..err, um Robert or Taylor, I should say. But, then again, I hope that you have the goods in the noggin’ to know that! I do have to say that I can’t wait to see everyone’s performance in New Moon… I’m hoping the best for all!

The interview was pretty good. I’m not a Jacob fan, team Edward all the way. Everyone is very impressed with Taylor’s muscle…I have to give him credit for all the exercise he put in, however he’s still the same person. He’s just muscular, muscles don’t impress me the way it impresses most girls. Good luck to all on New Moon. Kristen will be awesome in New Moon…the story is building.

I thought that kristen did a great job acting as Bella Swan. I read the books and I really saw in her expressions, in her lines that she really wanted to bring Bella to life and did. I have no doubt that Kristen will continue to grow within her character. Bella is a child, who will grow into a woman, and I can’t wait to see how well kristen does transforming her.
