E! ONLINE: JODELLE FERLAND TALKS ‘ECLIPSE’
In a new interview with E! Online, Jodelle Ferland, who recently signed on to star in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, talks about her role in the film, how she is Team Edward and why she thinks many other fans are too, and which cast member she is most looking forward to meeting, among other things.
“I’m allowed to tell people that I play a vampire who has just been turned,” the 14-year-old Canadian actress tells me. “In other words, I’m a newborn vampire. I’m not allowed to say the name of the character.”So if she won’t say whether her character is Team Edward or Team Jacob, what’s her pick in real life?
It’s Team Edward all the way for Jodelle.
“I just think if maybe Jacob had been introduced first then everybody would like him better,” she said. “It just seems that since Edward was the first one to be with Bella, people want him to stay with her. So, you know, that’s the character that you start to like first! And then Jacob comes into the picture and everybody’s like, ‘Oh, no! Stay with Edward.’”
Jodelle says she’s “really, really excited to meet Robert Pattinson.” As are her friends. “Every single person I’ve told has asked me if they could come to the set,” she said, adding with a laugh, “I’ve said, ‘I’ll have to think about that.’”
How did Jodelle celebrate snagging a part in what’s destined to be one of the most successful movie franchises ever?
“You know, I was just thinking about that yesterday,” she said. “I was just thinking that I haven’t done anything yet. I need to think of something. Basically, I just jumped up and down and then I went into my room and watched a movie on my mini-DVD player.
“Actually, it wasn’t a movie,” she continued. “I was watching The Addams Family—the old ones, not the movie.”
Who do you think Jodelle will be playing in Eclipse? And what do you think about her theory as to why many people are on Team Edward?
Is Jodelle 14? Wow, she looks tiny in the photo, like 10 or 12 maybe…
I don’t know her at all and have not seen her in anything so I can’t judge her at all but, well done to her for getting a part of a newborn…

I don’t understand why she can’t say who she’s playing. All the other new casts (except the winner of that reality show) have confirmed their roles. The only newborn with any lines in the book is Bree, so that’s the obvious choice. But now I’m wondering if they’ve written in a new character and that’s why they won’t say who she is????

Jodelle reminds me of Renesmee grown up..she has dark brown eyes, curly hair, etc. She will be an awesome Bree…if that is the part she is playing.
I adore this creepy little girl.
For those who don’t really know her, or remember her, she was the little girl from Silent Hill. She’s done a lot besides that though… so much, I seriously had no idea. Mostly spots in television shows, but hey, nothing wrong with that!!
And of course… how could she NOT be Bree? Someone like her can’t just be some rinky dink average “extra” newborn. She must be THE Newborn.
Addicted to Edward: I was thinking the same thing, maybe there’s another newborn they’ve written into the movie! Why else can’t she say? And I totally forgot about the winner of that Germany contest! She could possibly be Bree too. Agh!!!!
Yes, that is curious as to why she can’t say what character she is playing, it will be interesting to see who it is. If it is Bree it will be neat to see her interacting with Jane/Dakota, they can both do scary really well.
Now Twi-Mom about meeting Rob Pattinson did you forget about that great picture you were lucky enough to have had taken with him, well, let’s say it was almost like meeting him, he he.
I, myself don’t think that the woman who won the role on the contest could really play Bree, (even though make-up and special effects could go a long way, not saying that she looks old or anyhting), bc in the book, Bree is described as looking younger than Bella. So I think she is going to be Bree. She did wonderful in silent hill and I am sure she will be wonderful in Eclipse! Maybe the Woman, ( I think her name is Sabrina), could either be Charlotte or any other newborn vampire. Or maybe they are making a role up for her as well. But thwn again, maybe she is Bree. Who Knows…..
