E! ONLINE: KELLY CLARKSON’S “DID YOU” ON ‘NEW MOON’ SOUNDTRACK? FALSE.

Earlier in the day we informed you of a rumor that was circulating regarding a new Kelly Clarkson song that had leaked and was supposedly meant for the New Moon soundtrack. Well, E! Online is clearing up the rumors and reporting that the song will not be used for the soundtrack. Read below for more:

Kelly Clarkson may have a thing for Edward Cullen, but that certainly doesn’t guarantee her a spot on the New Moon soundtrack.

Recent Internet chatter claims that the unreleased Clarkson song “Did You?” will likely be featured in the Twilight sequel.

However, a rep for movie studio Summit Entertainment is singing a different tune…

There are no plans to use the song, according to the rep.

The angst-ridden, rocked-out ballad certainly sounds like a good match for the flick. “Did you ever care for me?” Clarkson sings in the chorus. “Did you ever believe in me?/Did you ever love me?”

A source tells me that director Chris Weitz has made no decisions regarding the music for the movie. Currently filming in Vancouver before taking off for Italy, New Moon is set to hit theaters on Nov. 20.

I’m sure many of you (judging by previous comments) are relieved to hear this news. The lyrics do fit the tone of the story, but the general consensus seemed to be that the song was too upbeat for what should be in there. I, for one, have to say I’m relieved also. I don’t mind Kelly’s music, but “Did You” wasn’t my cup of tea.

    I wasn’t too fond of the song, but i’m a fan of Kelly, so any unreleased Kelly stuff would have been fine by me lol and i could see it from Bella’s point of view i guess. butit’s not like it HAS to be in the movie to be on the soundtrack

    Thank Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its not that I dont like kelly its just that am very protective of anything twilight and that song just dont cut it its not good enough as I salid before I hope the new soundtrack has more edgy music more Muse more Paramore (I hope ;) )and more rob!!!!!!!!!!! hope so!!!!!! but not kelly or the jonas brothers I would just drop dead if that happend

    YEY!!! Good news everyone!Last night,chris posted to listen to a band called INNERPARTYSTATION. So I went to youtube and listened to OBSESSION.Yes, they really are the type for a song in NEW MOON.They’re other songs are great too.

    I’m neither relieved, nor angered. I don’t take much stock in rumors like that, and although I like Kelly’s music, I wasn’t sure that the song was a good fit, anyway. It somehow wasn’t GUT WRENCHING enough.

    Again, I reserve judgement about any news, at this point, until the movie, and soundtrack, and score, comes out.

    I hate this song and I hope it’s not on the soundtrack. i like Kelly well enough but I think they should stick with the original idea of using little or unknown artists. I think basing the soundtrack on Meyer’s playlists would be best, use the songs or artists that inspired her to write the books in the first place

    I don’t believe them. I know that tracklistings have to be pretty much planned out. The last one was usiing artists that were in the Warner Music family. The final soundtrack came out on Atlantic. This is a 4th qtr release. They know what path they are going.

    I think the song would not have the right feel for the movie and I love Kelly also.But there are alot of good songs out there that would be a better fit.I hate to be the person who makes that decision.So many to choose and to get the right mood for the movie.Music is such a big character in any movie.

    I like Kelly’s music so it wouldn’t bother me if she’s on the soundtrack. I haven’t heard the song so I don’t know if it would fit NM. It is going to be interesting to see what songs do get put in the movie and/or soundtrack because it’s kind of a sad/depressing story. I hope CW picks some good songs, I love the Twilight soundtrack & I want to love NM too.

    i’m relieved this one won’t be on there. i like kelly and some of her music is great. by the way since wer’re all speaking of music i was wondering if any of you could shoot me some of the artists and songs you think would be cool for the movie. i’m always down to check out new music and i’d love to expand what i listen too. thanks so much you guys for your help in advance.
