E! ONLINE: ‘TWILIGHT’ AT THE OSCARS?

E! Online is reporting that despite having NO nominations, ‘Twilight’ is “in” for the Oscars. What does that mean, exactly? No word yet – but E! Online assures that there will be a ‘Twilight’ presence. More details below:

 
Twilight may not be nominated for any Oscars, but that doesn’t mean the movie won’t be a part of Hollywood’s biggest night on Feb. 22.

“I promise you, there will be a presence,” Laurence Mark, a first-time producer of this year’s Academy Awards, tells me. “You’ll see. I promise there is and on more than one occasion.”

If Twilight doesn’t give Mark and his co-producer Bill Condon a huge jump in the ratings, we can’t imagine what would.

We heard a while back that Kristen had been offered the opportunity to present an award, but we never got any confirmation. I wonder if that’s the “presence” that they’re referring to? Either way, I can’t wait to hear more. Keep checking back – we’ll give you details as they become available.

    OMG!!! YAY! I am actutally going to watch them this year! OMG I hope robert is there too! and Ashley, and Kellan, and Jackson, and Taylor….oh eveyone should go!!!

    If the ‘Twilight’ presence is spoilers or the whole cast together in one place, then I’ll tune in; but I don’t think it’s worth my time to personally watch an award show to just see one Twilight star or starlet present an award.

    We would be holding our breath for a very long time if we believe that Robert and Kristen will be presenting an award — together! I think he is still in London and will not return until either late, late Feb or early March! I will “crack” and change the channel if the Oscars are doing a skit act of some kind from the movie… blah!

    However, I will tune in and see if anything sparkles, glitters, shimmers…you get the idea.

    …so Chris, has your make-up director found any better quality contact lenses the actors could wear without irritating their eyes or even damage them?!

    maybe the whole cast will be there and they make a big new moon annoucement that would be awesome but nobody can interupt rob or any of them like the vmas

    I’m wondering if a “presence” translates to “jokes at the expense of Twilight.” Remember those opening montages that Billy Crystal used to do, gently mocking the big name movies of the year? If that’s true, hopefully the jokes will be more on the “gentle” than on the “mocking” side. The last thing they want to do cause outrage amongst the Twilight fans! ;-)

    I read today that Rob, Kristen and Jacob will be in Japan February 27 for a Twilight event. Aren’t the Oscar’s on the 22nd? This leaves them enough time to get on a plane and be rested in Japan for the 27th.

    All speculation, of course.

    I hope the whole cast is there. like, everyone.
    I might actually watch the oscars for the first time if they are
    but then, i’ll probly just watch the bits where they make appearances or anything like that.

    I, too, hope that the “presence” is not some silly farce, trying to embarrass those of us who love the movie as well as the books.

    I am a little frightened of what their plans are. Peter Gabriel–one of the most elusive and talented performers out there is not performing his nominated song now because they are cutting it to about 95 seconds! It is a 6 minute song. What is that all about? There are a lot of rock fans that would have tuned in for that. I wonder if that means they will have some other tribute by some griper or cinematographer instead? So…I will have the tv on but maybe in the other room. If any of the cast is presenting I will be thrilled. But if they start to make fun of Twilight, I am shutting it off.

    I sure hope it Kristen and Robert at least,the rest of the cast would be great, I cant’t wait to watch this year!

    I will not only watch but will record it to DVD too. But, if they make fun of Twilight, which has millions of passionate fans and not to mention the 350 million it has made so far, I will lose it. And that will not be good. There is only one thing Hollywood respects and that’s money. So, why bite the hand that’s feeding them? I hope they are not that stupid.
    I hope KS and RP are presenting together. That would be neat. The producer did say they are keeping some of the presenters secret and therefore, they will not walk the red carpet either.

    I just got an email from a hollywood source, that Rob and Kristen both will be presenting at the Oscars. It is also one of the main stories on Yahoo’s home page.
