E! ONLINE: CLARIFICATION ABOUT THE ‘NEW MOON’ TITLE

By now, we’ve all seen the ‘New Moon’ artwork and have even heard the official title – which raised many eyebrows when it was revealed to be The Twilight Saga’s New Moon. Now, E! Online is clearing things up:

 
Huge news, everyone! (Yes, every little piece of Twilight is a major deal.) The sequel’s official name and title artwork have been unveiled.

And despite earlier reports that the movie would be known as The Twilight Saga’s New Moon, the title will remain New Moon according to the movie’s rep. They just have Twilight Saga in the artwork to identify it for anyone less devoted than your average fanggirl. But there is a distinguishing difference in this title sequence, which will be in orange rather than the blue of the original.

I was never really put off by the full ‘The Twilight Saga’s New Moon’ title, but I know many people felt that it took away from the title and the film to add all the extra wording. But while I wasn’t worried about it before, I am a little relieved that I won’t have to run around saying, “I can’t wait to go to the midnight showing of The Twilight Saga’s New Moon!”

What do you think about the clarification of the title? Are you relieved that the title is just ‘New Moon’, or did you not really care either way?

    It was understandable why it is The Twilight Saga’s New Moon because i sometimes refer to it that way since not that many of my friends know much about the Twilight Saga. Kaleb was saying how the orange could show the contrast between the cold blue (kinda like how a vampire is cold) and the warm orange (like how a werewolf is warm). i was thinking for the eclipse moovie it should be the color mixed between orange and blue.. that might look cool.

    To be honest, I understood the point from the moment I saw the art work. I saw the “The Twilight Saga’s”…part, as a “lead” to the title only, and not as a part of the title.

    I am just amazed that this could possibly be a big deal to anybody! Seriously, it’s a title. Why do people seem to get so worked up over such lame things? And I’ve about had it with all the petitions going around for all things Twilight. So lame. I’m sure Summit thinks Twilight fans are just a big group of complainers. I’d definitely say the majority aren’t, but the ones who do complain are more obnoxious, so they make a bigger impression unfortunately.

    Though the clarification was nice its very true that any Twilighter would instantly know what someone was talking about when they heard “New Moon”

    i am happy the twilight saga’s new moon would b 2 logn to ay all the time.

    i like it that it is orange
    i think eclipse should b purple and breaking dawn red or green.

    I’m very happy that they are leaving it as New Moon. I understand the reason behind adding Twilight but am glad that it won’t be referred to as such.

    I love the orange color for New Moon. Twilight was an icy blue, now New Moon has a warm orange…fits. I bet Eclipse will be red. Couldn’t care less what the title is, just want more Rob photos to drool over!

    While most Twilighters will know the movie by the name New Moon there are people who don’t know the book series or the movies, plus the books themselves are referred to as The twilight Saga so it makes sense to put that in the formal movie title. Either way, the title doesn’t really bother me, we all know what we’re waiting to see.

    No big surprise. I figured that would be the case anyway. It’s like the Star Wars movies – no one refers to them as Stars Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, etc. But the Star Wars is part of all of them – including the three newer ones – so you know they are all part of the same series. Same with Indiana Jones – most people don’t say “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Done” they just say “Temple of Doom”.

    (good grief I think I’m showing my age. LOL)

    i didnt think the movie was called the twilight saga’s new moon. and if it was i wounldnt be angry at all. but i can see why people would get mad. because the book is called new moon and not the twilight sagas new moon.

    Yay!!! I’m happy becuase the whole twilight saga bit ruined it.
    But if some people want to add the twilight saga bit they can.

    I also thought it was uneven, especially when eclipse will be made becuase it’ll be ‘Twilight’, ‘The twilight saga New moon’, and ‘eclipse’, unless they want to put the twilight saga bit on the eclipse as well, so I’m happy that they’ve cut it off.

    KEEP IT TO “New Moon”! “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” makes it sound sucky.

    I think that the color should remain the color thath the title is on the books.
