NEW MOON SCOOP: SUPERMODEL NOOT SEEAR TO PLAY HEIDI

Posted March 25th, 2009 By: Team Switzerland 26 Comments »

E! Online’s Mark Malkin has just posted some very interesting news regarding the role of Heidi in ‘New Moon’. Many were convinced that the role had gone to 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord, but according to E!, Canadian supermodel Noot Seear has nabbed the role. Read below for more:

New Moon has its Heidi.

I can exclusively reveal that Canadian supermodel Noot Seear has won the coveted role of the beautiful human bait in the Twilight sequel.

Heidi is described in Stephenie Meyer’s novel as a “fisher” who brings humans to the Volturi vampires to eat. She has “exceptional, unforgettable” beauty, which includes stunning legs, long hair and violet eyes.

If y’all remember, 90210 starlet AnnaLynne McCord auditioned for the role, which insiders have described to me as being more of a cameo than anything else.
So who is this Noot Seear?

The 25-year-old dark blond stunner hails from Vancouver, Canada. (Yup, that’s where director Chris Weitz just started shooting New Moon). She’s 5 feet 9 inches tall and has blue eyes, according to her agency, One Model Management. Her measurements? 34-24-34.

She began modeling when she was about 13 years old and moved to New York City “for more exposure,” New York magazine has reported.

Since then Seear has appeared in spreads in Elle, Cosmopolitan and Vanity Fair. Her ad campaigns have included Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein’s CK One fragrance, Vera Wang Bridal and Pantene Pro-V.

She’s also walked several catwalks for designers like Ralph Lauren, Balenciaga, Lanvin and Alexander Wang.

Let the Robert Pattinson and Noot romance rumors begin!

Seear’s manager could not confirm the casting, but tells me, “She has auditioned and is in consideration with the studio for the role.”

SOURCE

I really liked AnnaLynne as a possible Heidi, but I won’t lose sleep over the fact that she didn’t get the role. It’s a small role, but I’m still excited to see Noot Seear play it!

What do you think of this news? Do you like Noot for Heidi, or did you prefer AnnaLynne? Is it a big deal to you who plays Heidi, or are you too worried about other things?

As long as Rob is playing Edward, we’re good to go.

  • Alex

^that’s right! But they’re right when they say let the Rob and Noot rumors begin.

  • Angelica

    Lol- (etoile) very true.

I like Noot’s look better for Heidi. She’s got a better -bad girl- look than AnnaLyne. Her’s was a more good-girl gone bad or spoiled b*tch look (hmmmm, that sounds negative, but I don’t mean it to be. Strictly talking the ‘look’. I’m sure she’s super sweet!). I wouldn’t be disappointed with either casting… But like Noot. :)

  • Addicted to Edward

Why is there so much press/rumor about who plays Heidi? The part is like a minute long!

  • rachel

she looks quite nice and foreign (since she’s suppose to be italian, though Noot looks more German-ish. Well, wathever)
she reminds me a bit of dakota fanning. i think that’s good, because even if the Volturi are obviously related, I think it would be cool if they looked similar, giving it a sense of unit. i liked AnnaLynne, too, but I think she would draw too much attention to such a smaller part, and people would be disappointed when she didn’t show up in the sequels (although maybe she appears in breaking dawn, in the scene with the volturi, even though she isn’t mentioned in the book)
^^wow this was a bit long *giggle*

  • Mrs. Pattinson

I really liked the idea of Annalyne playing Heidi even though it is like a minute long I thought she would really fit the part.

HA im not over pleased about that last.
    too much competition haha.

  • Georgie

Yeah…the more I look at her…the more I see a mean, lying, tricky Heidi.

  • Crepusculo

I think Noot would be a better Heidi than Mccord…
    She’s a model for pete’s sake…

  • Naty_OCD

Not a huge fan on Annalyne after seeing her in Nip/Tuck, and I was hoping the rumors weren’t true, so I am glad to see this Noot chick as Heidi. I think her look fits much more with the idea, even if it is a minor role. At least in the book it is…let’s hope they don’t make it bigger for the movie!

  • creamy

Just based on that photo above, I’m stunned she is a supermodel.

If she is, I hope the length of the part is kept to what it is in the book. Model does not necessarily equal actress.

  • kijo921

OK, honestly… I don’t really like either of the two candidates we’ve seen. Annalynne is getting more known here and she’s too “Marilynesque” to play Heidi. However, I think this Noot girl isn’t that pretty. I agree with Naty_OCD… why are we that worried about the part of Heidi??? I think her part is less than a minute long, isn’t it? I hope they don’t “extend” her part in New Moon. That’s just dumb! WHO ARE ARO, CAIUS, AND MARCUS???? … (and Demetri and Felix and Alec)???

  • kijo921

I still think Canadian Daniel Cudmore (Colossus on Xmen: The Last Stand) should play Demetri… but I wouldn’t be surprised if they waited to cast the rest of the Volturi in Italy. That wouldn’t bother me… Italian men are HOT! :)

  • kerri

I wonder how long before the tabloids will have Rob shaking up with her? LOL! Oh, and dont forget that Kristen will be the vengeful. heart broken co-star! HAHAHA!

So what, we have Heidi, big deal…where the hell are the Volturi? Heidi isnt exactly a key character. What about the Volturi boys, not to mention Alec, Felix and Demitri? I mean C’mon Summit!

  • sweetlittledee

just wanted to show y’all more pictures of noot. she’s smokin’ hot.

  • suzee

I don’t care who plays Heidi, as mentioned before, the part should only be a minute long. I am concerned with who will play Alec. felix and Demitri. Why not have ben Barnes, Steven Strait, Jonathon Ryhs Meyer, Jensen Ackles or Stephen Dorf. All would make excellent and scary, good looking vamps

  • Marie

i dont like her as heidi, actually! i think annayne mccord was wayyyy better and prettier; she coulda pulled off being a bad girl!

  • Bae

DANG! She is almost exactly how I imagined Heidi to look like. Now if only she can pull off the minute amount of time she should have on screen.

  • Bec

im a hge rob fan…so im really NOT looking forward to hearing about those stupid rumors…i already dont like her..ugh…she better not get an extended part…she gets her like two lines then shes DONE!!!!!!!! lol :)

  • Just Megan

She looks like she could be a vampire. I think she will play the character well. She might even be a good match for Rob!

  • MrsCullen1289

She is gonna be perfect for Heidi! She just need the pale skin the cloak and the red shirt and short skirt (plus tights!) out fit nad shes good to go!

  • anna

i don’t agree. i hope they’ll extend heidi’s part and put her i eclipse and breaking dawn as well. this girl is ok. i agree with JustMegan she might be good for rob(better than kristen or nikki, lol).

  • mcullenvamp

she has look of the undead! but in my opinion… i really don’t care who plays heidi because the part is what, like a couple of line & a minute long…. not a big deal in the grand scheme of the movie or in future movies.

  • Emerald

“she looks quite nice and foreign (since she’s suppose to be italian, though Noot looks more German-ish. Well, wathever)”

“Heidi” is a German name, not an Italian one. In that regard, she looks perfect. And I think you ought to be reminded: Robert Pattinson, who looks very British, is playing an American. Peter Facinelli, an Italian-American, is playing an Englishman. Does it REALLY MATTER?

  • Midori

    No big deal…

  • Teeleeves

I am so glad she is getting the role instead of Annalynne, I don’t really have a problem with her, but i thought it should be more unknown people in the roles, even if they are small roles

  • http://yahoo nina

i would rather have annalyn play heidi because she lokks more the part. :D
