The 5 Best ‘Twilight’ Characters Who Are Not Bella, Edward or Jacob

Posted December 18th, 2010 By: Evie 2 Comments »

Redblog, which is the official blog for Redbox, has a very cute look at the outstanding supporting characters in The Twilight Saga. What follows is their top 5 characters who are not the famous trio. Read more below and see if you agree!

5. TIE! Mike Newton and Jessica Stanley

– Bella’s friends provided the comic relief that was sorely needed in the first adaptation — and we all know that Anna Kendrick (Jessica) went on to make quite a name for herself in Up in the Air. I’m hoping for that same kind of break-out for Michael Welch (Mike), whose illness during the “Face Punch” scene in New Moon totally stole the show (and, to me, was the second-best part about that movie… read on for the best). I sincerely hope we see a lot more of both Jessica and Mike in Breaking Dawn.

4. Aro

– Michael Sheen as the leader of The Volturi was, hands down, the best thing about New Moon, don’t you agree? That’s why I was really bummed that we weren’t treated to another performance from him in Eclipse. For those of you seeing TRON: Legacy this weekend, tell me if you don’t detect a bit of Aro-ness in Sheen’s catty Castor.

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Trailer Dominates Viral Ad Viewing for 2010

Posted December 13th, 2010 By: Team Switzerland No Comments »

According to Advertising Age, the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was the most viewed viral ad for all of 2010! Now normally, video game and movie trailers aren’t contenders for each year’s list, but they did a break down and found that Edward Cullen and co. beat out the rest by quite a bit. More details below:

The only “social ad” to make the top 10 was Old Spice’s “Responses” campaign — and that’s just barely there, at No. 10. The rest of the chart is dominated by seven movies and two video games, led by the trailer for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

So when it comes to viral ads, even Isaiah Mustafa is no match for Edward Cullen — “Eclipse” scored more than triple the views of Old Spice’s aggregate campaign in July, 220.19 million vs. 68.74 million, respectively.

$1.5 Million Dollars Goes to American Red Cross from ‘Bree Tanner’ Book Sales

Posted December 13th, 2010 By: Team Switzerland No Comments »

Some really, really great news in the Twilight world today – a whopping $1.5 million dollars was raised from The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner and given to the American Red Cross on behalf of Little, Brown Books and author Stephenie Meyer. Check out the press release below:

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group, and Stephenie Meyer have donated 1.5 million dollars to the American Red Cross International Response Fund from their proceeds from The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse Novella. As previously announced, one dollar for each book sold in the US from the first printing would go to the American Red Cross. The donation was made today by Hachette Book Group CEO David Young and Little, Brown Books for Young Readers Publisher Megan Tingley to The American Red Cross Senior Vice President of International Services David Meltzer.

“I’m so grateful that Little, Brown, the American Red Cross, and my fans made this generous gift possible,” said Stephenie Meyer. “It’s amazing to have the opportunity to help those so greatly in need.”

“We’ve had the incredible great fortune to have one of the biggest publishing phenomenons in recent years along with The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner becoming one of the top selling titles of 2010,” said Hachette Book Group CEO David Young. “Giving back is extremely important to the company, so it is particularly gratifying to be able to share our success with an organization as worthy as The American Red Cross.”
