ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY REVIEWS THE TWILIGHT SOUNDTRACK

Entertainment Weekly has posted their review of the Twilight soundtrack, and they gave it an awesome grade!

Here’s what they had to say about it:

The big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s sexy-vampire series could have gone the classic heart-of-darkness route (Bauhaus, where art thou?). Instead, they’ve tapped Alexandra Patsavas, the music supervisor for The O.C., Grey’s Anatomy, and Gossip Girl, and she aptly applies her zeitgeisty sensibility, pulling exclusive cuts from acts like Paramore (who penned the anthemic ”Decode” and ”I Caught Myself” specifically for the film), along with previously released tracks by Linkin Park, the Black Ghosts, and Muse. It comes off as a sort of well-wrought goth lite: not so much hardcore bloodsucking as nicely black-nail-polishy. A-

Wow! I am shocked that it was given an A-! That is very high praise from EW and I think it will boost soundtrack sales a bit.

For those of you who went to the soundtrack party: Do you think it deserves an A-?

And what about those who haven’t heard it: From what you have heard (and the track listing) do you think that’s a fair grade?

I’ve only heard the Paramore songs, but just those deserve an A+! Paramore is an awesome band. I’ve seen the list of songs for the soundtrack and I’m impressed by what I’ve seen. I’m not going to be disappointed with this soundtrack.

I’m surprised it got an A- too! That IS very high prase from EW. I agree though I really liked it at the listening party.

I went to the soundtrack party and thought the cd is great! So happy they gave it that rating! Can’t wait!!!

I’m glad that ew gave the soundtrack such high marks. The only thing that concerns me is bella’s lullaby. It is such a pivotal track expressing edward’s feelings for bella musically.

That is the track I have been anticipating the most, and all of the reviews including “ew’s snap judgements” have stated the track relies to heavily on strings and is not a piano solo. That’s so disappointing to me. The bella’s lullaby a lot of the fans have on you tube (which I believe is yimura’s) is just so beautiful. I really wished they would have used that, or whatever version rob may have composed.

I haven’t heard the whole thing yet (cant wait until I do) but from the songs I have heard (which is quite a few of them) I think the grade is very fair- I love the songs and think they’re mostly original choices and stuff, which is really cool- the soundtrack is gonna be great! cant wait until I get my copy :)

That picture is so cute! They both represent their characters really well in it, don’t you guys agree?

Well, I went to the sountrack debut and it wasn’t as exciting as the momentum of actualing going… The music could use a little more variety. I enjoyed the lullaby though ;-p
